The worst was in the shark fin field across from the river. You can see the dz but you have to walk for miles to get to it. Other people have gotten across the river by nice neighbors with canoes. Do you think, that planform describe everything about a canopy? Do you know that even the PD Navigator is not a square canopy? Do you think jump shack has certain max recommended loadings that correspond to experience for a reason? Do you have experience flying a similar size fire bolt at a similar loading? Do you have anything to add to this conversation or is it just business as usual? ... The bigger sizes at lower loadings might be completely acceptable for students and novice jumpers but Chris has a legitimate question and it is coming from information taken right from jumpshack. Could you please expand on the comment about their newer products having problems? I own an altitrack and it has been going strong for 200 jumps. I think the quality is amazing. The next step down in the pilot is a 140, then there is a 132. I was flying a pilot 168 for about 130 jumps. I liked the way it flew but I wasn't thrilled with the openings (too long). The recovery arc was almost instantaneous with a loading of 1.1 I put about 30 jumps on a pilot 140 recently, at a loading of about 1.35. Everything I didn't like with my old pilot seems to be getting better with a higher loading. It opens quicker, it dives much nicer, and the recovery arc isn't nearly as short as it was with the bigger canopy. If you like the way your pilot flies now I would be suprised if you weren't very happy with a smaller sized one. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

Unless you can "demo" that 170 for another 175 jumps you should reconsider your plan to buy a 150. Its your legs, but there are other people in the sky flying with you as well. Have you considered putting a new video on that has better resolution? I can psycho pack, I learned from that video to be exact, but when I had 30 jumps and the propack was still unfamiliar a bigger clip would have really helped. How much do you weigh? Is the reserve a raven, or maybe a super raven? One of my concerns when looking at older used gear is the max weight on the reserve and how it is going to land. I don't see the point in the need for sugar coating. We are all adult experinced skydivers, we aren't a 5 jump students that need our feelings protected. If you need information that could save your life, or keep you from killing some one else to be sugar coated then you need to put the big boy undies on and buck up! Personally I don't want my "elders" in the sport to sugar coat stuff for me. I don't want to be coddled in situations where I should be getting some sense to be smacked into me. I am just having one of those days. I need to vent so here it is, nonsense and all!!! First I am on the verge of freak out because of this three week Spanish class that I need to take to finish school. It is three months of class fit into three weeks, four hours a day, real intense. The first one I got an A in, worked my ass off. Now with this new professor I am on the verge of failing, still working my ass off. I think his expectations of what can be crammed into a three week period is a little extreme! His response: too bad. Funny how 150 credits, my waiting job and career, my hard earned GPA is hinged on this one class. So I decided to go to the school gym to blow of some steam, and push myself away from the cliff of near mental break down. I can't get into the gym, they gave out new ID card in the mail. "Please go to the ID card office" OK so I head over there. "No I never got it in the mail" Well we sent it to your billing address. Nice to know, no one got it there either. Maybe it is lost in the mail? "No we would have gotten it back" Not if it was LOST!!! Great now I get to pay 20 bucks for something I never received. I decide it would be best not to tell captain douche bag the concept of lost mail while I strangle him. I move much quicker without the weight of that 20 spot! Back to the gym I go. "New policy, only full time students get to use the gym, you only had 11 credits the previous semester" But I am taking 12 this summer that is full time. You and the id card guy must be fuck buddies!!! OK lets go home. Why is there cat food all over the apartment? Seems my landlords/roommates cat wasn't happy with the amount I was feeding it (twice a day) so it got into the cabinet under the sink and chewed holes in its bag of food. To complete my perfect day, the cat that apparently opens cabinets also opens screen doors. This seemed cute when I first moved in, now it is fucking annoying. The cat opens but doesn't close them.
