Doesn't a written warning put the DZO on record that they were complicit in letting a known safety risk continue to jump at the risk of others? Maybe I am just weasel adverse, but I don't want anything that can be subpoenaed during discovery. "It says here that you identified x number of saftey problems with Joe Blow Hooks through the Pattern, can you explain why 2 months later you allowed this jumper to board your aircraft for the jump when he crashed in to and killed my clients deceased son". I don't know why a written warning is needed? You have the keys to the sky at your little slice of airspace. Explain to them exactly the expectations, and then don't let them jump from your planes if you don't think they are demonstrating that they understand, or care to understand, what you expect of them. See SereJumper's response above; he hits the points pretty well.

My mistake, "clip name" is "active take information" in newer versions of Vegas. However, not having a problem in VMS 12 re-rendering to same filename when saving to same location. I'm using build 334; if you're not on that same build, you might want to update.

For me, "finer" means more easily flown slowly. Yes, much easier to approach a dock in the Havok.
-
This provides a great foundation for which to start. The document we're looking to create is not for public use/view. It is for a written record of conversation and actions.
-
under "VIEW," tick the option to show event names. This will reveal the name of the event as it sits on the timeline. Are you adding Stabilize in the Media tab, or on the timeline?
-
The Havok is quite easy to fly; I have both. There are benefits to both. You'll want a few more jumps in the Phantom before stepping into a Ghost or Havok, When you hit the sweetspot in the Havoc, it has a very powerful feeling of both forward speed and accompanying lift. It's easy to maneuver. The Ghost has greater fine control, both are ridiculously easy to backfly. If you're looking to do acrobatics, the Havok is likely the preferred suit. For camera or slower flight, you'll likely prefer the Ghost. Can't go wrong with either. Side note; if you're looking for the bigger suit to help you keep it up longer, I'd suggest taking a coach/experienced person out with a camera and use the video to help debrief whether you're actually using the P3 to the fullest of your/its abilities. It's pretty rare that people actually NEED to upsize.

on the timeline, does the event name say "subclip" in it, or is it the original clip/event name?

where to go skydiving with family?
DSE replied to Tonythetiger7's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Elsinore/Perris are quite close to Disneyland if you wanted the family to have fun. Perris has a nice pool, Elsinore is close to hiking, boating, etc. Zhills isn't terribly far from DisneyWorld, so it too, has its benefits. Depends on East/West preferences (cost isn't terribly different for either place from the UK. -
what else is running in the background? (look at task manager/ applications & processes)
-
that's pretty well how all of them I've seen have gone with RSL or Skyhook. I have a vid where a guy did cause linetwists in his reserve, no RSL, and he couldn't find his reserve handle. He'd packed himself a step-through (can't find the link just now). An RSL or Skyhook would have been better for him, too.

preview setting is at Preview/Auto? What else is running in the background? Are you playing from the stick or the HDD? On my MacBook Pro 1.8Ghz machine, running Bootcamp, I'm getting full framerate.

jii wings.

Some years ago (can't find the link), someone posted about using written warnings for safety problem people. Could someone share an example?
-
in the "Field Order" dropdown, change it to "none/progressive. Drag the preview window out of the dock, double click the "header" (the top of the preview window box). Preview will resize to optimal for your file. Don't 'Pause" antivirus, shut it off.
-
How are you previewing the footage? Is it possible you have an inverse view in your preview software?
-
if the source is p60, then the settings should look like this:
-
make sure your settings are like the ones in this image. Just played this on an ancient VAIO (800Mhz) laptop. The file is good/plays fine.
-
Man,...you have some weird problems. First, why are you setting 60 to 15fps? Second, why are you going to AVI before MPEG4? You're getting two compressions, and it's quite possible the frame interpolation is misreading and giving you the extra. If you're making the AVI anyway, do you get the same additional 6 seconds when you put the AVI into Vegas and render there? Your GoPro clips on the ice play perfectly at full frame rate; your machine may be a culprit. Also, are you running antivirus while doing any of your editing/decoding?
-
Agreed, a personal choice. Having +/- 50 videos both outside and in, where the pilot is spinning, head down, upside down, rolling...and in every case, they've had a reasonably good canopy (if not perfect) above their head when the reserve comes out (much like this one, where the RSL would have given him greater working altitude). Personal opinion aside, would you recommend that people missing the very high number of technical jumps that you have, keep their RSL connected until they're as experienced and instinctive as you are? Have you had a cutaway where an RSL made the situation worse?
-
Approximately once a month, we'll receive a visiting wingie that disconnects the RSL, usually because "I read on the internet."

If you're BUYING Tee-shirts...you're hangin with the wrong reps.

https://vimeo.com/61073329 Before y'all go beating up on this guy; it took courage to allow it to be posted so that others might learn.

I'm assuming this was a typo; almost punny. Manufacturers hit people on emotion as much as on facts. See a cute chick hangin' with a so-so guy says "if you jump our product, all the hot chicks will be with you..." See a guy at the end of a smokin' swoop, the ad says, "If you use our product, you can be like this guy.." Anyone who would buy solely on the print images and text would be a fool. But the ads must be working, because they got you to recognize the specifics of what their brand is using to sell...

Happy to check it. There is always the possibility that it needs some stretch, and as Jarno mentioned, suits do stretch a very small amount due to seams setting, etc. Looking forward to seeing it!

you need two tracks minimum, for a basic effect. as one ends, the next in the heirarchy becomes visible. You can do this in iMovie, but it'll be a significantly greater amount of work. The timeline should look like offset-stacked Lego blocks with whatever effect you want on each 'block' of text. You could also define the sequence you want (words, size, timing, spacing) and have a post-house generate it for you. There are tools that auto-generate a word cloud.
