http://youtu.be/pZQ07OJQMdA Dave Strobel-Plexus Show just opened this evening, so the floor videos will be forthcoming. Internet at the Hilton and convention center is not optimal, but I'll do the best I can. Rigging Innovations Curv and CPX are uploading now. Most will be linked from the previous uploads, and many of the older PIA videos can be seen in the same channel pages. http://youtu.be/GNFXjxKd7zQ Paul Martens-Canada http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92c5hehgz04 Kai-China http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O94EsckTToI Schlomo Pearl-Israel We didn't know we were doing these this year (until yesterday), so it's kind of a kludge; we don't have our standard equipment.

The Rbird is a great suit for most flocking, and at any experience level, is a great suit to learn and do some acrobatics in. If you stay in it long enough, you'll become a very good wingsuit pilot when you reach the point that you can not only flock, but do acro with dynamic transitions. All in all, large/small aren't that relative, it's wingloading. Overall, smaller suits allow for better performance in dynamic flocks. Don't worry about a bigger suit (at all) for the first couple hundred jumps. We recently saw the result of a last man-out-chasing a flock scenario; someone died trying too hard to catch a flock....(you have the photo in the book). His was a fairly "small" suit. You'll dig the Rbird for a while.

So would I. The book has to be printed in color, and for the limited number of runs (there just aren't that many wingsuiters), the book cost would be over 100.00. I just can't see making that sort of investment. While I was writing, I did do a couple color prints; one at Kinkos (cost me 167.00) and one on my printer (cost me 96.00 in replacement carts). I really did look hard at finding a way to print. It is available to purchasers to print via Lulu (and soon other sites), but the cost will still be in the mid 100.00 range. A very secondary reason for avoiding paper is that the book is being updated even now, and will be updated a couple times a year. I'm not thrilled with how many 3D formations are found in the book, and want to see those expand. There are plenty of belly, back, hybrid, and verticals in the book, but 3D isn't nearly as robust as it could be. Thanks for being interested.

What happens if you browse for them in Finder, copy over/import from there instead?

MarS should be there showing their m2 AAD. I'd be interested to hear opinions on it after the PIA. Have any container manufacturers given it their blessing yet? They were showing in 2011, too.

I'm kinda surprised anyone around here noticed it. :) Although there are 1200 formations in the book, it's really the safety/organizing/briefing sections that were the most fun. And to say it again to all the pro's that contributed tips in the book, "Thanks!"

Did that vid help you at all, John?

Best dropzone in the US for a newbie 45 jumps
DSE replied to Jpwalker's topic in Safety and Training
Skydive Elsinore, Perris, San Diego, all within an hour of each other. Elsinore is sometimes closed on Tuesdays unless groups are in (there is a large group scheduled in May), plus the boogie...) Perris and Elsinore have bunkhouses, close to other attractions too. Both are school-based, so great places to learn from highly experienced people. Oceanside is in that same circle, but it's not a DZ for newbies (unless Grimmie has changed things up a bit). -
+1. Win8 blows on a laptop without a conductive screen. They got ahead of themselves on this one, IMO. The networking is easier, and a couple apps do run faster. But that's about all I've found. Those small benefits are outweighed by the interface that is clearly designed for tabs.

Step 10 is unnecessary. Not thinking that's causing the problem, but may be that you're dragging the un-rendered clip. I made you a short video to show my process (it has two added steps to demonstrate that the stabilize is indeed, working). https://vimeo.com/62083122

Don't know shit about shoes, but tablets...I have 7. iPad (both sizes/models), and several Androids. At this stage, the kind of android tab really comes down to price. I have really loved my Galaxy 2 10.2 (except the size). Bought a Q88 7" a week ago, and very surprised at how much I like it. It was 69.00. I have a Freelander arriving next week; a colleague is really diggin what it does for 89.00. Spendy tabs on the android platform just aren't really necessary for basic use such as streaming movies, reading kindle books, doing email, and general access.

Balls. I've been thinking of semi-retiring my Pilot and getting a Spectre (although larger than a 150) because my spine is roughly as old as you are. I'm reading this thread with considerable interest. Never had a hard opening with my Storm. Only one hard opening with my Pulse, and that was due to a packing issue identified before the jump. Pulse is a super soft opening, some call it the "old man's canopy."

It's weird in that I can't reproduce it based on your earlier description and this one. Can you give me a step x step either here or in PM? drop a single event/clip, trim it, subclip it, and then let's go from there. If you wish, you can also email me a short clip and the .vf file.

For these reasons and others, we've elected to not permit pilots in flocks to wear Recons. If you'd like to fly solo, Recons are fine.
-
This was a small wingsuit, and a 'big' canopy. An RSL would arguably been better in this situation.

Thanks for letting us know, and congrats on finding the cure!

This. Any school or instructor worth a nickel will have suits. Different suits have different issues. Show up with a suit that is inappropriate for you, it'll breed frustration for each of you. That's why we have Prodigies, Intro's, P3's and P2's, plus a smattering of others for certain uses.

Andy, the legal points are well-taken but not mine to decide. Hypothetically, the 'warned' may have uploaded multiple videos depicting situations putting others at risk. Or perhaps have boasted of their bad-azz skills. Maybe everyone at the DZ is aware of their actions. Someone might argue the DZ may be as liable for not taking internal action as they are for taking internal action. Either way, I'm tasked with obtaining or generating a blank, general document. What follows is the DZO's decision.

To hazard a guess, perhaps the butt deflector is considered a fourth wing?
-
If you look at the page on the Blade III; "All BIRDMAN® wingsuits are manufactured and sold under licese by Risk Control Corp. Please contact Mr. Shin Ito for wingsuit inquiries: risk (at) rondo.plala.co.jp" It would appear to be a licensing of the brand as applies to WS.

post a pic of the box/cam setup?
-
Set the level to "normal" in the menu. This applies compression. However, if there is a box/housing on the camera, then sounds within the box will be made to be as loud as sounds outside the box. "Zoom" is merely a frequency notch, there is no "zoom" with microphones like there is with glass/lenses, so this feature isn't helping you.
