squeezing them together is a great method, but if the twists are at the risers, it won't work. Pretty rare they're down that low, however.

Read the question again, you didn't pay attention: No one has shown me a single Tandem *fatality* due to a HC (I have not even seen evidence of an accident, just TI's doing the same stupid thing that TI's have done before HC's). If you would like, please be the first to provide the details of a fatality, or even an accident. I suggest it is you that needs to read the specific post to which I specifically responded. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4006706#4006706 You're a big boy; dig into Incidents and find the answer to your other questions for yourself.

I'd appreciate seeing what a "plethora" looks like.

Editing HD tandem-footage on-the-spot, fast. Any ideas?

There are so many potential answers...it's hard to pinpoint. ~Maybe a faster burner? ~Faster DVD (ie; x16 vs x 4?) ~Bottlenecks in the system? ~other apps running? ~rendering to incorrect format and having to re-encode in DVDA? ~Slow CPU? ~Lack of RAM? -
Earlier you said: You were informed there are more. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?

I've logged three so far, from PM's. Two of which are mentioned in the Photo forum thread on small format camera. If we know of three, how many are not known about? Two were posted to Youtube; both are now gone. How many wingsuit incidents have there been? Deaths? How do those effect your attitude towards wingsuits? You're baiting the wrong person. Wingsuit pilots most likely won't injure or kill innocent, uninformed, helpless people due to an error. Tandem instructors most certainly can and have.

Pix of your "new" suit?

jpg is best for fast turnaround. RAW is best when you're shooting from the hip and already talking about pushing pixels in Photoshop.

unfortunately, Studio doesn't have the API unlocked to sink hooks into. Studio is a stand alone. You can do all the same stuff, just not the automation part. FWIW, you can get really fast with the Studio product too, and burn in under 10 mins, even though most of it is manual. -
Problems like? I have only heard of the one case. I've logged three so far, from PM's. Two of which are mentioned in the Photo forum thread on small format camera. If we know of three, how many are not known about? Two were posted to Youtube; both are now gone.

Start by clearing your Project media bins (click the lightning bolt icon). Never seen this happen the way you describe, but I have seen situations where multiple clips of the same name/different folders can confuse i/o points.

Google LumiQuest (LumiQ) That'll get you a BUNCH of ideas. Hey...Walmart bags are en vogue...recycling and all that. :-) I used one just this morning on a cold instrument for an outdoor shoot in DC! [edited to add...] You KNOW weddings will make even a woman go bald, right? MUCH respect to wedding photographers. I'd much rather shoot a Taco Bell commercial with dogs and bimbos than a wedding.

You can use the onboard flash with a snoot, but that's as big a PITA as the flash diffuser, if not moreso. If you don't mind blowing it "up" every time you brush someone, you can make a great lil' diffuser from a Walmart bag (white plastic) and a rubber band. You can buy diffuers cheap. you'll be grateful for the 1.8 lens and at 50mm, it's eye width. you *might* consider an RF remote for the vows portion so you can shoot one on a set of sticks and the other freehand. If you lock one cam down on sticks, you can use a slow lens 1/30 for the vows and freeshoot the 50mm @1.8, triggering both at the same time. CyberSync/AlienBee are popular brand. You *might* be ablet o rent em', too

Start at WEVA.com...there are some great articles from the von Lankens. I might have a friend in your area that could be a "second" for you, send me a PM? Getting the vows is important, so...if you have a decent cam with a fast lens, have no fear of AF and sport mode. This isn't a moment to be artistic. You'll want an 85 or 105, something in that realm for easy closeups while maintaining speed (assuming you have a faster lens). Are your bodies full-frame or APSC? More info about your bodies would help target the best solutions. Depending on what you have, might be able to help you source some glass, too. You're likely going to need a flash and definitely a diffuser for it. LumiQ or similar will make life easy, but you can also make a diffuser very fast very chea, but you'll need it.

Nah, no balls baiting them. It's a domestic flight, I have plenty of time to kill, and it was intended in fun. Yeah..."Security is serious business" but security theatre is well....theatrical. Might as well have some fun. I don't think I'd wear these on an international flight, and had I been in a hurry...I'd not have worn em' either. But with 3 hours to kill in rainy DC...

I'd wager he'll garner a lot. Not only is it a beautiful playground, it's a high traffic/tourist destination. He'll also have access to the new Navaho Casino and Grand Canyon tourism. When we started to put together the Point Break Boogie there, interest from the city was exceptionally high from the city and C of C. They'll do well.

I got to try these at Reagan today. It got me a pat-down, but that was the whole point. The interesting point was that it took em' a few seconds to figure out what they were. The agent's only unique comment as he was patting me down was "You know this is is only going to slow you down?" It was fun, I suspect they'd never seen these before. I'd give a lot to know what the scan reader saw/thought. I dont' know where the scan viewer sits, but it's not within close range.

Demos often stem from incompleted sales or factory seconds. No PFC is going to use a BASE pouch for a student. BASEjumpers also demo suits. Just because the pouch is there doesn't require its use and it doesn't impast the skydiving performance nor experience. It can be, and often is, ignored. Enjoy your new suit!
-
I'd recommend the UPT, that's what I bought. I've jumped/demo'd three different brands/types. I preferred the UPT for a few reasons, but it's easy to demonstrate why the stowbands are preferable to magnets.
-
Your suit was a demo suit, not built for a PFC as a special order. Use your BOC. Check the integrity of the Velcro on the pouch from time to time.

Ditto, sure wish mine would arrive.

A story: CX6 falls off helmet - broken housing
DSE replied to unclecharlie95's topic in Photography and Video
FWIW, I passed your story to the product managers for this series of cam. Hope it works into somethin' -
Drop Robi a note. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you sharing; he's a very open and educationally-minded guy. My own personal "real-world" experience (outside of successful pouch deployments) is a Russian guy to my left with a shrivel having a premie, coming within a couple of feet of me as he deployed. Another experience was a different Russian guy who also had a premie in a formation. Then there was the Belgian dude that had a premie in the float position. Coulda been really bad had the PC gone over the tail. I talked to him for a while; he bought the suit used and thought 'that's just the way it's done" with his 26" PC. I have fewer than a dozen pouch deployments (certainly not significant), but now have a newer suit that fits nicely, and a rig I can use with it. I expect to have more in a week or so. I'll look like Cate screamin' across the sky. Shrivels imply a specific thought process based on experience, experience which a non-wingsuiter doesn't have. It also implies responsiblities in the plane, responsibilities as the one rigging something different. There is a responsiblity to other skydivers too, so that they know that a pouch is being used. I certainly don't see them as the dramatic "death traps" you paint them to be. I see em' as something that requires some thought and intentionality, perhaps some maturity and experience. The OP has zero wingsuit skydives. For him, my answer is "not to be used for skydiving." I probably should have added the caveat "for a long while." Hopefully that puts water on your anti-anti-shrivel bitch inferno.

Did I suggest the shrivel was dangerous? Where? And yes, I have wingsuit skydives with a pouch. Gotta love people who flip out over their own (wrongful) perceptions.

Let's keep it as "another discussion" in the General forum, please?
