Try meeting up with 10 BASE jumpers who threaten to kick the shit out of you should you ever wear a rig or be found jumping an object................. This is exactly what happened to me as a 150 jump skydiver wishing to BASE and telling people "well if you dont help me I will go out by myself"..... BUT I went out and did a further 2 years skydiving and crammed in 500 jumps with CReW / Accruacy etc and ended up friends with most of the 10 that threatened me................ Ask yourself why? Because I listened to people who knew more than me and took on board advice without the stupidity and arrogance so many people seem to have now We were all new once............ just some of us listened to people along the way and now have more friends and fun then if we had ignored them.........

I also heard of a new skydiver here in the UK with a BASE rig that he bought from a guy in California that contained a cruiselite. He was asking around my local DZ to get people to pack it so "I can jump it" and he also wondered if the big PC he had was too big for BASE..............

I always thought of BASE jumpers as being more knowledgable than skydivers, sometimes I think that some jumpers are not by the questions they ask.........

Then its obvious if you want to keep the services and locals happy then.............. surely with the amount of jumpers who get pleasure from this site they will be willing to invest in something to ensure it does not piss off the local people or drain the resources from the emergency services....... If I jumped there many times a year I would be more than happy to pay a fee to ensure the authorities are happy........... Just because you like freedom, dont ever assume you deserve the freedom without any cost!

Just curious, how many people have actually called the heli with standard tip/fib breaks / ankle dislocates that were not justified a heli call out? I travelled 70 miles in the back of my own car with a severe dislocated ankle and shattered tib and fib that required bone grafts after being carried out of the landing area once my jumping partners had taken out the fencing with tools they ran back a mile to get to remove then replace just so there was no trace or authority called............. Thanks People once again! If you are willing to BASE jump, then you are willing to suffer to ensure no one knows you BASE jump when you hurt yourself................. .....I actually thought that was standard criteria?

Most companies / individuals are doing a decent service in releasing new jumpers back into our small island with a nice polite attitude toward BASE....... Some companies / individuals are releasing complete arseholes back into our small island with a shit attitude toward us and toward BASE Dont just think of your short time cashflow....... think about us that have to deal with the cunts on return... No BASE Jumper will suggest a FJC from you to a newbie if your last student was a complete twat........... your last student will either make you more money or cost you more money................

Anyone else having a problem with searching on Google? I can get my www.google.com/webhp? search page up, and also can get regional search pages up no problem, but as soon as I try and search a string, I get a "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" after a long time out........... Thanks Michael

I really do disagree with this statement and also feel a little insulted by it....... There are many BASE jumpers who cringe at the BD circus, and to say it is a representation of us all is an insult.... Yep, I do await the expected onslaught of abuse from all of you...

this was a needless incident caused by SHIT canopy control....... perfect evidence to why you should not BASE early on in your canopy pilot / skydiving experience......... Fucking lucky you did not end up in room 101 as Number 101

I maybe mistaken but I thought convergence clouds are created when dry and moist air meet, I assume that due to the body of water at one side of the range will mean that this is more common at this site? So if convergence clouds are seen this means there is an obvious meeting of air moving up the valley to meet dryer air from the opposite side...... but I maybe talking complete shit of course.....

Im not trying to be a nazi, I am not trying to police, just passing on some information that maybe useful. I have just got back from pylon park, and with the normal courtesy call & visit to the neighbours to make sure they were cool with us jumping with their horse around they did ask that if you cant call to let them know, then please can we be aware that during the summer their horse will be in the field next to the main two pylons until about 6 or 7 pm each night and they would prefer that we jump it after that as the parachuting freaks it out. They did say they really appreciate the notice of jumping and personal visits they get from jumpers. As I said, I am not trying to say how to jump this site, but just passing on information that helps to keep us in favour with the people that live day in day out next to it. Also, as a side note, leaving carpet at the base of one of the towers (across the river so I hear) is quite messy.... keep Britain Tidy!

I have access to a rig I can "squeeze" my Troll into, but what I am looking for is a freefly friendly container (which I have been offered that currently holds a sabre170) and I am trying to find out if it can take a mojo 220 as my main skydiving canopy. I have just returned to skydiving after 4 years out, and on thinking of the gear I want to actually purchase (fuck skydiving is expensive!!), I want something I can freefly in, and I want a canopy as close as to what I BASE so I can ensure maximum amount of currency in that type of canopy. (Yes I know a mojo is not like a troll, but a nice BASE canopy rather than a stilleto will help achieve more than not - I aint looking to do swoopydoo shit!! ) Thanks for responses...
