I am sorry, but anyone that ADMITS to molesting someone should rot in jail as far as im concerned. Im sure in your eyes hes a wonderful man, but put yourself in the victims shoes. IF one person reads this before its deleted then I am happy. +1 Plus this: "Former Girard middle school teacher Gregory Yarbenet, already in prison for molesting a former student, was sentenced to an additional six to 18 months behind bars after he admitted molesting a second student. " http://www.silentlambs.org/newsletter/NewsLetterItem.cfm?SendoutID=151 You gave us a slider, thank you sir for that. But now rot in jail.

The driver was a douche. He got what was coming to him.

that's great! my best time in my TS is 163s in Raptor, (but also from 14k pulling below 3 - maybe 2.5-2.7) and I weight 165 with 5'11 hahahah Best in S-Bird I demoed (1 jump) was 169. My best in V3 is 173 so far from 14k to 3.5 Anyway, time is not all :) I'm more curious about maximizing forward speed and see those clouds go zoom zoom

No, it's just you.

Oy, I forgot I had a picture of V4 from Bridge Day '10 ...
-
I will have to second that
-
I know you didn't ask me, but I will chime in. I would buy it as a second rig to do water jumps (lol) and for no more than $500 for all. And I think I would still be overpaying, but that's just me
-
45 would be perfect but let's be honest - some cannot physically fall that slow, and also, I wouldn't keep back with my V3.. I'd be too far ahead of ya'll

how about both at the same time? :D It only works with chicks!

Didn't know that one. Nice picture. Thanks for sharing. Happy flights :)

Your Canopy Risk Quotient? :Parachutist 03/04
michalm21 replied to sarge's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Don't confuse high risk with dangerous. I think a shortfalling of the quiz is the words they use - they encourage a defensive posture. You, and I, are high risk pilots. You simply can't NOT be at a high risk when you jump the loadings and canopies we do. Now, does that make us dangerous pilots? Absolutely not. That's what I'm driving at, That's how I read it too. Flying tiny canopies at high wingloadings, no matter how safe and heads-up a pilot is, is still a high risk endeavor comparing to piloting big, square ones. It does not mean someone is unsafe, just the activity is high risk. After all, no one has to jump tiny canopies. I think that was the point of the quiz. Btw, I got 31 flying my SA2 135 -
Agreed! No suits are direct/exact copies of each other, and some designs/features were there way before, just never commercialized as much. I also realize that even they can look the same for the most part, they will fly differently, and subtle differences that can not be seen at first glance make a world of difference. All in all, I am happy there is competition and suits evolve and people are working hard to make them better and to make their customers happier. Whether it's PF, Tony, FYB, Jii, others it doesn't matter as long as we enjoy the flight and have a great time. I really love my V3 and Raptor as they both serve a different purpose

Jarno, I really (promise) do not want to stir stuff here (as I love PF and my V3 :)), but it is my observation that although Stealth2 came before XBird, the original Stealth line from the beginning looked to me like a copy of the SuperMach1 that was the predecessor to the X-line on Tony side. There will always be some idea borrowing from one side or the other, the market needs competition, etc but to me heres the timeline I remember it starting it sometime in 07 or 08 PF is kicking ass with their PH,V1/V2, Tony comes out with Aerobat, Raptor, Mach1 and then Super Mach1, then PF adds Ghost that looks a lot like my Raptor, and Stealth that resembles SMach.. also upgrades to V3 that is just awesome (and I also own one) then Tony adds Bird series (T,R,M,X) that replace their line and somehow look slightly inspired by the V in a tiny bit then PF releases V4 and especially Venom that resembles the X-Bird in the look, but also leg vents (airlocks, as I felt it during bridge day) Of course I can't say the 2 competitors copy each other but definitely inspire each other to borrow designs to improve their suits. disclaimer: I own both brands, like 'em both, it's not a pissing match, just an observation from my point of view to which anyone can disagree. Again, I do not want a pissing match

Al, what about freestyle? I keep hearing that Jeffro won but I can not find any standings

Nice one Les! The guy with one post is definitely a troll, come on!

Hi, when I asked before I was recommended mineral spirits, goo gone or lighter fluid( Naptha) Tried both goo gone and mineral spirits and both worked well removing glue residue from rip stop tape. Here's a link to my question: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3984088;page=unread#unread Hope it helps.

Harness inputs under front risers.
michalm21 replied to SRI85's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
The canopy is not wingloaded enough for you to see any input from the harness. It also means very heavy front riser pressure. I was finally able to have some harness input on my SA2 150 at 1.3, and with SA2 135 at 1.4 I can fly my pattern using harness input but at 1 to 1 you won't get anywhere. I'd also recommend working with a competent canopy pilot before attempting any advanced maneuvers close to the ground to better understand the aerodynamics and flight characteristics of your canopy/ -
I'd rent a bigger student container and put that BASE canopy in that. Then you can track it, hop&pop without worrying it will prematurely "escape" and wraps around the tail possibly killing all aboard the aircraft. I would personally NOT jump it. It shouldn't be hard to rent a student container for that increased safety and/or piece of mind. edited to add: using big student container is what I've been using with my BASE canopy

Hey man, I am not a hang glider pilot, nor I know anything about them, but as I am an avid student of aerodynamics and a fashion designer (so I know what materials can do), I can tell you that in 10 -20 years gliders will be our personal flying automobile, decrease in size and weight by 200% while achieving amazing lift and speed that you will be able to quickly fly across continents without paying for airfare. I'm telling you so it must be true, you watch if you don't believe you are ignorant, ask galileo, he aint got shit on me

apparently Tony bit it somehow... Needs more sweep though, we like forward speed
-
I just must add that the top wingsuit designer, the one who actually made first working prototypes available to people to jump and not kill themselves in 1999 I believe under the name Birdman was Robert Pecnik, the same one you ridiculed here a few posts above (aka robibird) I wish you good luck and looking forward to your prototypes and future attempts.

To back sqwrl up, I will throw another 5k 10 years from now if there is a suit made of just fabric that allows us to maintain or gain altitude while falling/flying through the sky. This does not include hard shell, glider design, or engines. Good luck!

I remember it well. Went in 2007, was great until Danny Page flew into Bob Holler killing them both. I had

Agreed and it's, well, obviously obvious. His post made it seem like Vampire is not made to be used with the BOC though...
