You could have addressed this: The debt was 1 Trillion when Reagan took office, now it's 8.9 trillion. So what's in a number? Well, to compare the US Dollar to the Canadian Dollar: 1993 1 USD = 1.29 Canadian 2001 1 USD = 1.55 Canadian NOW 1 Canadian = 1.03 USD http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic That's the damage done. Forever people have been saying it's just a number, well, so is the exchange rate. The Republicans have fiscally ruined this country behind the guise of fear. ______________________________________________ But instead you address who I am or might be. Hmmmmm, do conservatives always misdirect or is it just now...... coincidence or????? Addess the substance. And a fine good afternoon to you too. AKA you can't find an argument for that?

I have been travelling to Canada all my life.... and I always remembered the Canadian Dollar being far below the value of the US Dollar.. in the 80's and 90's a Canadian Dollar bought about US .60....which made up for the 50 cents a liter for gas at the time. I agree, but depending upon how old you are, in 1972 the Canadian dollar just edged us, so I was being specific. ea, as I was growing up I recall etailers not taking funny money Canadian due to the exchange loss. Now the Cnucks won't be taking ours

About 500 or so. Why must you exadgerate to try to make a point? There were 371 as of 1 year ago. http://money.cnn.com/2006/03/09/news/newsmakers/billionaires_forbes/index.htm According to Wilkiperdia they say the same: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_the_number_of_billionaires So perhaps 400, so the size smapled would be .5% of the total populous. If I surveyed people on teh streets and surveyed .5% I would be surveying 15,000 people, a fair sample size. So the fact that only 2 people are cited, it's not as if there are 100's of thousands to survey.

Darwin is a Bitch. Cute to say, I guess we'll naturally select the kids, amputees and others who are just fucking free-loaders. People wo say, Fuck the prro" make the biggest whiners when they come into need.

I think so. I take care of myself and my family and I don't expect handouts. There are already govenrnment programs in place for the aids babies. My point is that there should be no inheritance tax. That money has already been taxed once. Where did I say we shouldn't think about the children? >>>>>>>They should not be required to pay incredible amounts of taxes to support the lazy deadbeats and dead-end government programs. Ah, becuase you went outside the reaches of just inheritance taxes, you also include, "lazy deadbeats and dead-end government programs." Inheritance tax refers to the collection and funded programs refers to the disposition of those funds; you wrote about both. As for lazy deadbeats and dead-end government programs, let's look at where the tax dollars go. They go to pay the interets on the debt, about 20% of all collected taxes I believe go the interest. WHy do we have a debt? Well, your party has decided to run it up to thwart the Ruskies, who, as of 1980 really didn't give a shit about us. We have overspent on the military running the debt so high that our dollar is only sring against the Mexian Pesa and possibly a couple other 3rd world countries. But still you are with the biys you elected and want to continue broad military spending with tax cuts; you must not like America.

>>>>>As a scientist you should know the perils of extrapolating from a sample set of two. That sample size is considerable considering there are only a handful of Billionaires in the US.

>>>>>>>In any event, what is the percent of all militay spending on the budget? Once you find that come whining back about the war costs There are 2 catagories: 1) Budgeted military expenditures 2) War costs They are seperate expenses and Congress budgets them seperately. Congress and Bush just put through a 150B war gift. We spend almost dollar for dollar what the rest of the world does in military costs, figure the war costs in and I'm sure we far exceed 50% of the total contemporary military spending......... but that welfare mother getting $900 per month to raise 4 boys that your party can draft for a war when they come of age is the entity that you hate. Nice.

For the first time in my life a Canadian Dollar is worth more that an American Dollar... A BIG thank you goes out to the NEO CONS.. well done in a new milestone in your push to destroy America before you THINK your asses will be Raptured out so you dont have to pay the bills. ( this is known as sarcasm... just in case you NOE CONS have difficulty realizing this) Not actually true, but essentually true. The dollar dropped below the Canadian dollar in 1972 and then from 1952 to 1960. Not knowing how old you are, I think you were alive in 1972. But I agree that generally we have kicked the shit out of the Canadian Dollar, especially when CLinton left office in 2001 where 1 USD = 1.55 Canadian. http://eh.net/hmit/exchangerates/answer?yBegin=1916&yEnd=2005&nation%5B%5D=Canada

Yep, do check that source for details, because the authors were shoveling a lot of bullshit to come up with the 51%. ALOT OF BS!! How about this BS? The US spends virtually dollar for dollar with the entire rest of the world on defense, when there is no one out to get us. Who has waged war? A couple assorted Arabic nations that can't even get 1 acft off the ground? They have no Navy and unless we drop our gaurd on on ports, they have no way of reasonably attacking us. We spend almost as much as the rest of the world combined on the military, about a 45 / 55 split. The number 2 is GB and spends 1/8th as much as we do. Would you like the source? Are you going to deny the numbers or deny the need? Or both?

That's the same tax cut that helped create record income tax receipts, correct? Record tax receipts? That's like celebrating not breaking your right arm in a swoop, yet you have all 3 other limbs broken as well as a busted spleen and several vertebrae. The debt has gone from 1T in 198o to 8.9 today. As well, the dollar has fallen below the Canadian dollar, it rose from 1.29 to 1.55 under CLinton just as the deficit was balanced. Record tax receipts? Who cares when there is still a deficit?

>>>>>>Good for them. And those 2 billionaires should be allowed to do whatever they want with their money. They should not be required to pay incredible amounts of taxes to support the lazy deadbeats and dead-end government programs. Yea, those AIDS babies are just a bunch of freeloaders. And those who contract TB and the drones of others who dare get old..... Nice philosophy.

Wow!! You mean that some people are actually smarter than others?? I never would have guessed. Some people actually make good decisions that pay off while others make poor decisions?? I am Shocked. Explain then how executives can destroy a company and still earn huge bonuses, and then parachute out just after selling their stock options for millions. It seems that some can make poor, costly decisions and still profit nicely. Have a look at Arbusto Energy. Bush's daddy's buddy invested $1 million in that shithole when the company was worth $400,000. Nice, eh? Then in 1990 Bush sold his shares in the company (now Harken Energy) and a week later the company reported a loss of $23 million. And all the United Airlines and I think US Air employees who had the same Enron deal happen to them, just not the same publicity. Many, many smart and responsible people hve little, many Peris Hiltons exist.

>>>>>>>If you took all the money in the world and even distributed it, Within just a few years we would be right back where we started with a small percentage having the vast majority of the money. Difference is that in some countries they actually don't require that you must be one of the people who is good with money to be given medical care other than emergecy care.

Uh, hello!!!! They were practiced by Regan, Bush and Bush in various degrees. But Reaganomics means to cut taxes and increase military spending, cut welfare spending. Other than GHW Bush's tax increase, all 3 have acted accordingly. The debt was 1 Trillion when Reagan took office, now it's 8.9 trillion. >>>>>2. do most injuries occur when you hit the ground? That's actually a fair question, as funny and obvious as it sounds. Injuries resulting from acft exits and corking are ones that would be the exception. Not to mention the Deland skydiving who was hit by the Otter and probably a few other anomolies.

Cessna Caravan crashed in the Cascades-Skydivers on board

Believe me... the forces involved would preclude putting on your rig if it was in a spin or out of control..even IF you had your rig on.. I seriously doubt you would be able to open the standard door under those circumstances.. People please.. lets not get off on tangents here.. the world is watching. *SIGH* Go back and read the thread from page 7, I wrote that perhaps we could wear our rigs loosely in case a horribly, possibly catastrophic event like this were to occur. I have never supposed that we could throw the rigs on while be jousted about. I agree, odds are with your rig on that you wouldn't get out, but we do a bunch of things to give us that edge. Most people with AAD's never us them, most people with RSL's/Skyhooks would be able to get the reserve out w/o them, but these little things we do can be the difference. -

And then you go an write thi: Would they have been wearing their rigs that whole time? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I would have & I would sit next to the door if at all possible to improve my odds of getting out if we had to, but I don't know what others would do. So you would wear your rig and would sit by the door, but then tell me to get educated when I suggest wearing chutes, in all thier discomfort is a good and you say a worthless propsition and that I should get educated. I don't need your ego, I don't care how old you are and you probably have a VERY wrong idea of my education/experience. -
Which suorts my assertion that having your rig on is a good idea, glad you agree. I never said it was an automatic.

I thought about this a bit, too, but you must realize, if the pilot was doing his best, but still diving fast, no one could have exited, the force is too great. aaahh poop. Wich force, the wind force on the door, if installed, or the aft G force stuffing a person into the tailcone? We don't really know what happened, but a chite on is a chance, even tho they are uncomfy. -

I am not sure if that would have made a differance. It does you no good to wear a rig if you cant get out the door. I have never been on a caravan with a regular door, I dont know how easy it would be to get that door open in an in flight emergency. Well, if you were belted you wouldn't be thrown to the back. You could then try to grab your way to the back and open the door. Not sure which door opens first but either way I could find a way out. Whether it would be easy or not, I would want to have a chance, even if a 1% chance. -

Your thinking is wrong! Get educated. Uh, get educated? What's that about? Having your pack losely secured is a bad idea whilst traveling in an acft with a door that is likely a roll-up type? -

Good insight as to the catastrophic failure. I was thinking icing, as Caravans have a propensity to do that and have no de-icing capabilities. Maybe we should leave our packs on when travelling cross-country, even if loosely. Sad to think that all could have been saved by wearing their chutes.
