What would it take to get you to change your vote?
Lucky... replied to MikeForsythe's topic in Speakers Corner
If someone could give me a really good blow job. But u have to have a penis for that. -
would you like to see a super-majority in the senate?
Lucky... replied to TrophyHusband's topic in Speakers Corner
Great point, but when Bush won in 00, Senator Jeffords then went from R to I to lessen the monolpoly, but look what happened - still a nighmare. The R's have hammered shit for 8 years straight and all that happened was for them to lose the House and tie teh Senate at the very end of that run, so what makes you think that if teh D's hypothetically hammer shit back that they would be removed in 2 years from Congress? I think people will give the D's a good 4 years, maybe more if things start comming around before they pull the plug. The R's need to reinvent themselves as the Dem's have, rather than to wait for the D's mto self-destruct, with the D's did/are benefitting from that too. I hope it's a huge sweep for the D's, I generally want balance, but now I want to get back to center so we need to go radical left to do so. -

What a joke, this shit was already done, just waiting to pop in 2006. Furthermore, the 1st 5.5 years of your guy, your congress ran the country and your guy didn't even veto 1 bill until the stem cell bill came along, something not intrinsic with the running of the country. The came the Dems with essentially a tie in the senate and a majority in the house and they mustered 12 vetoes from Bush, 4 of which they shoved back up his ass with an override, something the Republican congress didn't do for 6 years. So your point is so ridiculous, it's like a person becoming obese for 6 years, then starting to excercize for 2, then having a heart attack and blaming the excercize. Keep trying, someone is believing. -
I think Christel was being sarcastic.....

With all the Florida crap and the SCOTUS turning their backs, I guess now the R's can whine and we can laugh.... remember R's, all the names you call(ed) the D's that complained about the Florida election, turning away of minorities from polls, etc.... try to keep your composure http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081017/ap_on_el_pr/scotus_voter_registration_2

How much time/resource did it waste? Ahhh, it's funny, ya gotta admit. I wonder if he could serve via publication?

Ahhhh, get a contract specialist to find lookpholes, yea

No, I think we have the same criticisms about McSame campaiging against Bush, then loving on him, then campaigning against him, etc...........
-
Yea, all that stuff about Obama being 5-10+ points ahead id just BS.....McCain is really ahead.

I'm for a 3rd party, I voted for Perot and I voted for a Republican before. We've always been 2-party tho, so enjoy. Aren't most countries 2-party in that there are 2 outstanding parties that get most of the votes?

3rd Presidential Debate 10/15/2008 Who won??????

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I hate to say it but it looks like we're in for some change, unfortunately we're going to change into a socialist government. If it happens, it will take decades or a major event as with the Ruskies. I don't see how you can decry that considering the corpratist system is working so well. -
Assuming we're on the same subject - Powell. I'm forced to again ask, "Could you expand on that?" I didn't mention it teh first time, so I can't expound on what I did not write

McCain's best of the three. McC did what he had to (attack), and Obama did what he had to (stay cool and look presidential). I doubt it will change anyone's mind. Yea, the grouchy ole man came thru, but he had to do it I guess. He's been trying everything, not to long ago he tried the 'be nice to Obama' approach, n ow he's back to McCain politics as usual. -
That is sad to hear That includes here or anywhere else. Let's not be hypersensitive, it's politics and we all want things done our way. As for candidates getting nastier, I think McCane is and he should be considering he's been losing from the start. Obama generally lays his plan and distinguishes it from McCane's. McCane seems to bring everything back to what, "this one" rather than negotiating substance.

Yea, he's a real victiim
-
No, this is how Obama will win: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ManGanavlL8&feature=related

Yea, that's what happened, Bush, being a frat house prankster, popped a bag behind him and that's what started this whole thing.

And Congress. Lest we forget little things like that... And they were supposed to cut spending to the troops and all the norm? They had no choice but to follow the trash that had been the previous Congressional terms and of course the turd in WH. It took Clinton 8 years to change 12 years of Reagan/Bush, so it's not realistic to blame the new congress for a thing. When Dems sweep the deal this Nov, take office in Jan, then we can blame them, until then they are prisoners of this mess that Republican voters did to us.
-
Does that mean we're 1 heartbeat and a pretzel away from a Pelosi president?
-
Extremism is just that and taken with a grain of salt. I imagine you are pro-Iraq War, why aren't you there? Why aren't you out petitioning every second for people to go, etc... If I knew you I could find your positions and get all extreme and then call you a hypocrite. Extremism is ridiculous. Wanting the people making the money to be taxed at a higher amount/higher rate isn't American or unAmerican, it's just taxing the money, nothing personal.

A percentage, yes. Just as if she gets a horrible illness, you have to care for her and she can't work, society, esp the people making 250k and up should pay that cost. It's easy to be 30, in perfect health and with a great career to shrug and ask why people are so fucking lazy, but when you look at examples you can see that we need social svs for those who truely need them.

And that's the fallacy. Even the rich do poorly when the poor and middle class do poorly; they need all players in the game to do well. Don't think so, read about the Great Depression.
