I was simply making the point that many times those of us who claim to be Christians, and against things like abortion, are the same people who oppose legislation that would benefit the poor, mainly because it might require them to get by on a little less. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Indeed! You know, it takes a certain kind o fcharacter to refer to the "little people." I dont' refer to them as "little people." I just refer to them as people. It's great to see that I better prepare to lose so much and that there are people out there who are proud of that. You know, I'll put my net worth up against you or any other "little person" so that we may make a determination of who is really a "little person." And how are the poor oppressed? How does a welathy person hold the poor down? By hiring a poor person? Ooooh, evil. There's a difference between being kind to the poor and being mean to the rich and middle class. I think you should think about those differences. It's like being kind to beachgoers by killing every shark. It's not the "kindness" to the beachgoers that is the motivating factor so much as the cruelty to the sharks at work. Far different from, "if a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he shall be forced to become poor himself, and THEN he'll understand." Even he who DOESN'T oppress the poor and who gives gifts TO the poor shall come to poverty - Congress shall make sure of it. A ruler who oppresses the rich is like Stalin, Castro, Mao Tse Tung, and Pol Pot - without the rich to get shit on along with the poor, the poor will take the full load of it. One of my favorites: "Fairness is giving all people the treatment they earn and deserve. It doesn’t mean treating everyone alike." - John Wooden This means that if a person has oppressed the poor, you don't lump that person in with everyone else in the same place. You don't seem to want to help the poor so much as you want to destroy the rich. Is wealth, in an of itself, evil? Is a person with a six-figure income deserving of whatever bad comes to him? Why is it that "no money = good. A lot of money = evil." If the equation does not accurately reflect your beliefs, then you are putting forth the idea that it is all right to punish the righteous person simply because he orshe also has money. I can't believe you are arguing with Proverbs. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Oh, also I had a Yamaha 750 street bike for a few years. I have a 800cc street bike, and it's much easier to ride than the last dirt bike I rode (a 97 or 98 CR125). The two don't really compare, so be careful. After riding other bikes for 4-5 years, I nearly broke my back after a jump gone bad on a KX100, and watched a friend nearly get killed on the same CR125 mentioned above. Well, at least you didn't have to worry about getting braodsided by a bad driver llike I almost did on the street bike..... -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Oh, also I had a Yamaha 750 street bike for a few years. Is a YZ 80 too small? I'm 6' 190 lbs. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

I rode a friends enduro in my teens and a big fat tire bike of my own before that. I'm not looking for big air for a while. I just want something to take up into the mountains. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Thinking of getting a used, low priced trail bike for the summer. Any tips? Any have one to sell me? I was going to look at an 89 Suzuki RM250, ready to ride, for $450. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Believe it or not: Foreign Policy Success for Bush

This is where the 'verify' comes in. The reality is, we have no other viable option in this case. This at least will allow us to get people inside NK to see what they have been up to. The agreement must allow unencumbered access to sites, and we need to break off the deal if they backtrack even a little. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. -
It would have stopped earlier and less people would have died, assuming the person carrying was a trained, responsible gun owner. Adding more guns is not always the answer, but the reality in America is that it may be the only answer. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

F*CK THAT SH*T!!!!! History repeats itself. Once again the world and my president gave in to the "Nuke Perp" of the planet!!! Here is a quote from that article......... Under the deal, the North will receive initial aid equal to 50,000 tons heavy fuel oil within 60 days for shutting down and sealing its main nuclear reactor and related facilities at Yongbyon, north of the capital, to be confirmed by international inspectors. AND WHO PAYS FOR IT?????? Thank you tax payers for once again stepping up to the plate of appeasement (A.K.A. Diplomacy) and floating the TAB! All we are doing is delaying the inevitable.... Disarmament By Force! Please tell me that someone reading this thread TRULY thinks that N.K. will "adhere" to this negotiated deal like they did in the past. 50,000 tons of heavy fuel is much cheaper than a war. Reference - see Iraq. So you are saying that you are okay with being bullied by other countries just because we have more $$$ ???? World opinions vary as to who is playing the part of Bully. In this case, this could be a good thi9ng. We just need to remember the Reagan "Trust but verify" thing. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. -
Guns R Kewl. No doubt, guns are cool. It goes beyond that though. Whenever I see one of these things go down I fell saddened that no good guys were carrying that day. I'd like to think that if I were there I could have put an end to this. But then the cops probably would have rushed in and shot me...... -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Nah, give it all to Bush. That way the right wingers who criticized Clinton for a similar deal can pipe down. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. -
Well, there were assumptions made that I am poor, so why not? Then pipe down and take your government hand-out, you uneducated drain on society. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

In the spirit of "credit where due", Bravo to the Bush administration on the NK nuclear deal. http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=2870673 Now don't muck it up! -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down. -
Class envy? No. "How widely the benefits of growth and productivity are shared is a basic measure of economic performance in a democracy - and further, widely shared benefits help to generate positive feelings about a society and its government." -http://www.cows.org/about_newsroom_detail.asp?id=76) Also, studies have shown that a fair minimum wage increases employment. Just look at the states with the lowest minimum wages - they also have the highest unemployment. Higher minimum wages entice many to look for work. Go ahead, ask me for a cite. Or google it yourself. the world aint fair. never going to be and no matter how you paint it, worrying about someone getting something you are not is class envy. Don't like it, get stocks and vote, get on the board and do something about it. Using the congress to "impliment" someones will is bs no matter how fair or unfair you think it is. Oh, and if you stop worrying about someone getting a fuller glass than you, you might be more happy. The Dems are in charge in congress, and soon the white house. So all you six figure earners get ready to dish out some cash to the little guy. Like it or not, your reign of terror is over. It''s time for some good ole fashioned wealth re-distribution!!! As far as worrying about someone getting a fuller glass than me - I am just fine. My glass is plenty full. It's not me I'm concerned about. Proverbs: He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done. If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered. He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich—both come to poverty. A ruler who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no crops. And my favorite: The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. Now come on religious right- get with the program. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Many companies consider the receptionist to be a very important position, and pay more than $7.25/hr, even small businesses. The receptionist is the first, and sometimes only impression the public or potential clients will receive, so a valued pro will often pay dividends in the long run. As they say "you don't get a second chance to make a first impression." -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.

Bah. That doesn't even keep it in line with inflation since the last increase. Index it to inflation and lets move on to something else. And how about a maximum wage? Those goddamn overpaid executives are hurting the bottom line too. -------------------------- Chuck Norris doesn't do push-ups, he pushes the Earth down.
