layer up just like you do for snow sports- long under wear, glove liners, and a stocking cap or one of those headband/ ear warmer things. see if you can borrow or buy a full face helmet. or ask for one for an early christmas present. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

countzero replied to countzero's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
just wondering if there is a record for most states jumped in within a singel day, i.e. sun up to sun down. diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
the blue looks like "royal blue" and there dosen't seem to be any spandex on the suits in the picture, unless it's on the back only. contact the company and ask them to send you some samples of the types of material in the colors you're thinking of getting. i'd did this with the Bev suit i bought. having the samples helped alot. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

WWYD?- jump infrequently or go uncurrent
countzero replied to countzero's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
i know people dislike these WWYD polls, but please bear with me. i'm really wresteling with this issue. i can A- jump every 60 days to stay current. with rental and jumps it's about $150. if i keep doing this i'll have my own gear in about 10 months. or B- take a hiatus from jumping. save the money i would have spent on jumping and rentals. i which case i'd have my own gear in about 6 months. i do have a wings 50% off cert. that's good till dec. which helps alot. and i will be starting out with used canopies. and once i do have my own gear i'll be able to average 15 jumps a month. is going uncurrent worth it to have my own gear sooner? diamonds are a dawgs best friend -
when i bought my viso it came with the wrist strap. after fixing my viso L&B returned it with the back of the hand set up. having used both i prefer the back of the hand. it's pretty much like the analog mounts. with a rubber ring to put your fingers through on 1 end and a velcro wrist strap on the other. it still uses zip ties to fasten the alti. to the strap assembly. i was a little leary of the zip tie mounting at first but so far they've worked out great. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

i think it can be fairly equal. men can be very dense sometimes and women can expect thier minds to be read too much. alot of this confusion could be cleared up with more communication. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

it stays pretty warm here in Texas during the winter. as for finding people to jump with. just tell manifest you're intersted in doing some (instert discipline of choice here) jumps and i'm sure they'll point you in the right direction. you coulds also post here or email the DZ you plan to visit to look for people to jump with. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

Quote I dislike working union gigs, but this is a signifigant pay increase[/reply if you'll be getting more pay, why not save up and pay cash for the eye surgery? that way you're not in debt. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

no, my faith gives me comfort regarding the afterlife. as for jumping. the reward is worth it to me. and i accept that death and/or serious injury are a possiblity every time i exit. that's why i will continue to gain knowledge and skills to help minimize the risk. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

congrats. just think of the money you're saving that you can turn around and spend on jumps. quit 6 years ago myself. the first week or so is pretty tough because your body chemistry is adjusting to not being forced to deal with a poison (nicotine). hang in there, good luck, and blue skies! diamonds are a dawgs best friend

auto parts store price is $135- $150. a dealer or repair shop could charge you anywhere from $50 - $150 on top of that for the part. then labor can run from $50 - $100 an hour depending on the facility. diamonds are a dawgs best friend

there are lots of live music bars around. your best bet to find music/ bar info is to stop by a Best Buy, a local CD store, or one of the many smoking acessory shops and pick up a copy of the Houston Press. it's got all kinds of listings for arts, movies, resturants and bars. as well as info on clubs, local live music and concerts. diamonds are a dawgs best friend
