Hahaha I saw this before you edited it! You reviser, you. How long can this thread goes on before it devolves into a pile of gelatenous goo that's been in the microwave for too long? Let's find out. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Yea, I love my Sabre, too. Ha ha ha! A friend of mine has a Sabre the same size as my '2... he calls it the classic "Spank/Goddammit" opening. It sneaks up on ya every now and then (hmmmm.... BODY POSITION? Nah!) ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

OH YES! [^5's sunshine] That's the same one I used at the last complex I lived in. Texas has a right-to-carry law and I live in the part of the state that has the highest concentration of carriers. Needless to say, I got a lot of pauses and "ugghs" on the other end of the line when I mentioned that I have a glock and a .357 and they better not let unsupervised children in my place or attempt to enter at night without knocking because I will shoot and ask questions later! No one entered the apartment until *after* they made sure I left (for good!). ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Hey, quit helping to sell my plane. I *know* the nerve of these people trying to buy the best Otter! I will miss that plane if/when it goes bye bye. And we just put awesome purple carpet in it, too. I guess I should get out more and actually try other aircraft instead of waiting the whole year for WFFC, shouldn't I? ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Someone might use it if they run out of toilet paper.... "Hello? What's this?" ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

I shoot-up Jager in my left vein while drinking Goldschlager and eating red hots. I'm also a sucker for Bacardi in anything... coke/sprite, straight out of the bottle... holy water.... ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Hmm... as far as equipment goes, anything that's lashing the crap out of you to the point where you can't possibly continue the dive (i.e. straps, poor choice in Halloween costume, tube gone bad, skyboard going apeshit), would be a good reason to pull high; if you are with people turn and get away from them before you do it. I think the issue on this thread are people who are intentionally choosing to pull high and are sitting next to the door, which is wrong. If you are so uncomfortable with pulling at 3,000; then get your buddies to pull with you at 6, or wherever you are going to dump at and sit in the back. There's nothing wrong with that. I've even chosen to intentionally pull high for various reasons, such as getting more time under canopy, and also jumped out last and pulled high to watch an AFF jump (after asking the JM if I could do it). ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! An injury/collision whilst in freefall is a perfect example. After getting my right shoulder joint dislocated, I *needed* to get something out fast and NOW. I had no AAD. I tried 3 times to move my right arm, nothing. Pulled silver as soon as I could, had a Raven out around 6,000 ft. That gave me lots of time to figure out how to control and flare with one working arm. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

QuoteMine's still 0...93/0...if you want to get technical...you can't divide anything by zero, it does not exist..

Yep. Digital video shot by Tom Sanders (Aerial Focus). I've got a VHS copy. Dude... rip that mother and put it up on the ftp site. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Tom: I don't want to sound like a butthead... but... did you get this on video? Can't imagine an opening at 80 feet... wow. That's lower than the opening inside St. Paul's Cathedral in London!!! ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Are you the one that everyone said died?! Then I was talking to your friend... umm.. Adam maybe.. he told me the "he died rumor" but that you were fine. So then a few days go by, and someone tells me again "Hey, did you hear that guy that wrecked his biked died!?" I said "No he didn't, I talked to a friend of his and the guy's fine" to which they reply "Yeah, he was fine for 2 or 3 days, then he died!" Yes. I know about this AND I saw it here on dz.com but I decided not to say anything (although I was furious when my friends told me). I just wound up ignoring it and I'll live with the fact that I was the first "fatality" at Rantoul! One of the guys from our little troup from Texas fell off a golf cart the following day and got a mild concussion, the same day a girl was being carted off in the ambulance for the same thing. Go figure. Golf carts are killers. Watch out for them. Next time I'm taking my convertible to the convention! F those carts! -- P.S. This nasty rumor made it ALL the way to my home DZ and also to my parents!!! . Do you know how much money was wasted on cell phones talking them down off the walls??!?!?!!? G-dammit. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

LOL! That'll teach ya to flake those cells and group them lines *shakeshakeshake*. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

Same here! I love Sabre2. I'm gonna stay on a '2 and go a couple notches down for the next year. Stand up landings on it, great little forward drive on zero-wind days, everytime w/o fail! *knock on wood* ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

God help the people that don't get that reference. Floyd r00lz!!!! ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

My worst skydiving injury was riding a bicycle at 30mph and started to pass some drunk skydivers in a golf cart (damn, those golf carts) at this past WFFC a couple weeks ago. It's all a haze, but I remember them leaning towards me, then the front tire began to fishtail, and I went *BOOM* chin-first into the pavement RIGHT by Martini Shot Films. Got a concussion, some skin tore off my hand, knees, and chin. Got 5 stitches in the chin, busted lip, and road rash that turned black on the right side of my face. Spent the next day on sleeping pills, then came back the day after that feeling like crap, but had a bunch of skyvan and two biplane tickets I had to use, so I spent the rest of the convention jumping my ass off.

That's really inpressive! It sure didn't feel impressive doing it . I was really freaked out about it for quite a while after I landed. That didn't hurt as much as the hospital bill, though. HMO and still owed ~$4,000 dollars for 3 stupid sets of xrays (and a seperate bill for the radiologist), ketamine, and a stupid LVN who fucked things up worse by trying the "twist" method of resetting it!!! My shoulder has popped out several times more since then but now I know how to reset it myself (it's an anterior dislocation). I've been very careful since then to not let it "slip out" and I'm working out now to focus on getting that joint healed up. Chances are I will need surgery in the future, tho. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

~145/1 (reserve ride) = ~145. Total cutaways: 0. Reserve ride was due to an RW jumper twisting my right arm out of socket when he went vertical and was still clinging on to me. Arm quickly went numb and had to steer a Raven down and flare with one working hand. I've come very close to chopping once since then from a spinning mal caused by the slider slamming down hard past the slinks and 1/2 the slider was stuck below the toggles and wouldn't budge in either direction. I had a really nice time trying to get the grommets on either side to become level and clear of the toggles. Managed to clear it by 1,000ft. after doing some hard riser yanks. ~ = How many actual jumps I've done. I've only logged 110 of them.

Humorous "unofficial" mod to the DZ t-shirt pic
christoofar replied to konradptr's topic in The Bonfire
I agree totally about Konrad's post. If you're not going to do a tandem, Vegas doesn't want you; don't even bother going there to wait for a load--you aren't going on one. If you don't have the time/money to do Eloy, AZ... you are better off just going to Jean or just do the wind tunnel across from the Stardust--which blows. I wouldn't even bother taking a rig the next time I go to Vegas anymore unless I know in advance I am getting a rental car /w unlimited miles (woohoo Perris!)... -
Don't all/most DZs already have exit order rules for this? We've got ours posted inside the plane in big letters next to the door and you stare at it the entire way to altitude. If you get your own jump run you sit first (5 1/2 for HNP, 10 1/2 for tandem run). Standard jump run is RW in order from largest to smallest, freefly in order from largest to smallest, Students & Tandems, then high-pullers. It's burned into our heads. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

I've don't know how much shit I've shit on eBay I've sold to make up for the # of times I swipe my Amex at the DZ and get slammed when the bill comes in! (Oh God I don't EVEN want to see what the bill for WFFC is going to look like). Hmm.... anybody want a used IBM parallel port flatbed scanner? Works on Win16 and Win32! ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

That's hard to do when you have FIVE WHOLE DAYS of posting ahead of you and only TWO half-days of skydiving to do. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.
