    Mmmmm, tastyness.
  2. That when the plane only goes to 2k, ppl should be smart enough to either kill their Cypres or ride the plane down.

Electric ovens have a 'Broil' setting that turns a top element on rather than the bottom 'Bake' element. You broil something by putting it right up under said element while it's glowing orange. I know, it's a sin to cook a steak that way . I really should invest in a proper grill.

Don't you mean his after dinner companion?

I thought lamb was more of a Greek dish.

    Steak

Mmmm, sounds tasty too. Probably a good alternative to camel-burgers. Mine was very tasty. A bit rare for my taste, and a little unevenly cooked, but it hit the spot.

I have a ribeye broiling, unfortunately I don't have a grill. So what's the perfect method of broiling a ribeye with an electric broiler? I've opted to coat with Montreal Steak Seasoning and broil each side for 4 minutes. Hopefully I'll get something resembling Med-rare.
  8. I thought the $2.80/gallon I've been paying was insane...
  9. Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Cranberry Sauce; Whoooo, Ooo, Ooo, Oooooo.
  10. Seriously tho, does one pull the collapsed slider down OVER still stowed brake lines, then unstow the toggles? I do feel silly asking this, but I'd rather ask than do it wrong.
  11. I made my 6th or 7th jump yesterday with a collapsible slider, it was the first jump where I remembered it with enough altitude to matter. The silence of not having a slider flapping was pretty sweet. I looked up at my collapsed slider and thought about pulling it down the risers to stow it. I couldn't mentally get past pulling it down over my still-stowed toggles. I'd appreciate tips on proper slider stowage.
  12. Especially from under canopy. I made it out for a sunrise jump a few months ago. So tough for me to get to the DZ before noon, let alone 6am, but so worth it.
  13. I think it's all personal preference. The CRW guys use 7-cells (Lightnings) for stability. Less prone to collapse, which I can see given what I've heard/experienced with end-cell closure on Sabre2's. I chose a Spectre so I could buy a big enough canopy not to kill myself (a 210), be able to order a new H/C downsizable to a 9-cell 170, not to mention it was one of the few 210's in the classifieds. I have 5 jumps thus far on my Spectre and the transition from 9-cell still feels really strange.
  14. Would you use a Spectre for BASE? Mine opens nice and soft, but I'd be afraid of smacking into the ground while it inflates.
  15. That's on the west coast. 3 hours later on the east.
  16. Mornings suck. Until I went into Air Force, I commonly stayed up till 2-3am and slept till noon. Nowadays I go to bed around midnight and get up around 6:30a on work days. Left to my own devices, I'll sleep till 8 or 9.
  17. No, can't say that I have. I am having an Out Of Money Experience tho.
  18. There was one down the road from Cal State Long Beach, hit it all the time.
  19. Oh yeah!! Sleeping late and having a Star Trek marathon!!

    Ernesto Supplies

Besides more beer; I picked up water, batteries (for radio & electric lantern), and a bunch of canned stuff. Basically a normal commisary run, just no food that needs to stay cold. Tonight I'll be getting a bunch of ice and loading up a cooler. Will be able to enjoy icy cold if the power goes, but not let the cold out of the fridge.
