Sometimes some parents throw up their hands and go with the recommendation of supposed experts in the field. I think the people selling the parents on the idea have some large level of responsibility. -

They do. Plus a court has to agree. And a physician. And a therapist. None of which proves it's safe and effective. And that psychotherapy wouldn't be effective. The psychotherapist who assesses the child does only that...not based upon weeks or months of seeing the child, but based upon one visit to evaluate. Things that make you go hmmmmmm. -

People may have differing ideas on what constitutes abuse, but I find it very concerning that shock treatments are supposedly needed for 50 percent of the children who attend. Even more concerning is that they don't even attempt psychotherapy before resorting to this. And the young man who still has terror filled dreams may have experienced an improvement in behavior while undergoing the treatments, (due to fear) but it obviously had no lasting positive effects, as he's been in trouble with the law for assault since then. -
Gotta love the foam. Oh believe me, I DO love the foam. OH, were you talking about the beer?

Actually, a successful woman is one who knows how to provide for herself and enjoys doing it. Sometimes she'll allow the boy to spoil her, but it's always her choice. She's always capable of saying, "Fuck off!" if he turns out to be a jackass. Codependency is so last decade.

I'm not a doc nor an EMT, but I do have to keep current with CPR/Rescue breathing and first aid. If someone can tell you that they're choking, they're still able to get air into the lungs. It's scary as hell to watch, I'm sure, but you did the right thing. Fact is, he was able to cough up the obstruction, and all was well. If it had gotten worse, then you could have done the Heimlich. Scary stuff!!

I was simply wondering if anyone knew of any options available, as in, is it a punishable offense or not. Of course I would hire an attorney if that's what I needed to do, but I was curious as to whether anyone had seen any sanctions imposed in such an instance. Thanks for the input folks.

Picture this scenario: there is a court order on a pending divorce that no party shall cancel insurance (health, in this case) on the other party without the other party's consent or a court order allowing it. Party A cancels it anyway. Party B doesn't find out until a month later, when she goes in for a biopsy and they tell her she's no longer covered, and her visits from 2 weeks ago won't be covered either. Office visits, lab tests, medication....everything during the past month that has taken place will not be covered. Does anyone know of any fines/penalties that can be assessed to the first party and/or his company? Divorce sucks. Even the "nicest" guys turn into complete pricks.
