  1. I bet I hate them worse than you do. In recent years, everytime I get my eyes dilated, I get a migraine headache. Complete with sound sensitivity and throwing up. Even if I wear my darkest sunglasses and don't use my eyes for anything. Last week I had my annual exam, and I wouldn't let him dilate me because it was my night for tunnel flying!! No way in hell I'm going to miss out on my tunnel night!
  2. Judging from your original post, I think I know why your morning went so badly. You were DRUNK!!!
  3. **bump** Well, he made it to round two. He's waiting to see if he made it to round three. Woo hooo Carl!!
  4. Let's see, he's a six foot something (3?4?) good looking black guy who jumps out of airplanes, swears like a sailor, parties like a 23-year old, and oh, by the way, has a father who's a minister. And he tells everything to his parents. I don't think he'll be too easy to overlook.
  5. So, how did it go? Will I soon see my friend making out with a different chick every episode? Promise me you won't let them film you in your underwear. By the way, what are you doing posting your cell # for all to see? I thought I was the only one who had your special number......
  6. Oh. My. I think my car needs washing right now. (why don't we have a drooling smiley face?)
  7. Yeah, I like your response better, but I'm not as quick of a thinker as you, not being from Oz and all What do you do when the head and the heart aren't in agreement? And what do you do if the head and the heart are telling you the same thing, yet you feel too guilty to make the choice they're telling you to make?
  8. If I could change it, I would. It was a very random choice when I really didn't think I would ever actually be posting on the forums. I think you may be assuming too much about me. I'm not sure there's anything deep about me these days.
  9. I do understand that many, many people are able to function without consulting a God. By asking these questions, I am trying to learn from people who are here now and can give me feedback.
  10. That is exactly the opposite of my intent in asking the question. I am not challenging the supposition that clarity can be found without praying to a deity, I am trying to learn how people have done so. I am in no way implying that it is. That's what I want to know~how do you seek clarity? , I find myself somewhere in the middle of those two groups, not sure of much of anything these days. ...thanks for the compliment! Speaker's corner isn't that bad! As you can see, the responses thus far have all been quite respectful. If you'd posted this in Bonfire, we'd have asked you to take off your shirt by now. . LOL! Yes, but because this is posted in SC, I believe you read a hostility or a challenge into my questions that truly is not there. Thank you for you answers and for sharing your thought processes.
  11. Who or what are you seeking clarity of thought from?
  12. I can't believe I'm posting here in hell, but I have a serious question. I don't want to debate anyone about the existence or lack thereof of God. I want to know: if you don't have a faith in a supreme creator who has a plan for you and loves you unconditionally, and wants you to be happy and protected, .....how do you make difficult decisions? Life altering decisions. Stay married, or divorce. When there hasn't been abuse or adultry. Resucitate, don't resucitate, when you don't know your loved one's wishes. I know there's such a thing as personal integrity whether or not you're a "believer", but what about the decisions that aren't so black and white? Where right and wrong are not all that clear? What about when you are scared? Maybe you find out you have a terminal illness. Or someone you love dies. Believers turn to God in prayer. What do non-believers do? How do you find hope and comfort and the feeling that eventually things will get better? I am not asking this in anything but a serious way. I'd really like to know how other people handle the crap that life hands them when God is not an option for them. I'm going out for the night. I hope to find some interesting answers when I come home. I hope the thread doesn't disintegrate into another argument about the existence of God. Is that too much to ask? yeah, I know, you post in SC, you take your chances...
  13. Is it wrong that I'm strangely turned on by that phrase?

  15. pssst....if you ignore him, maybe he'll get bored and go away....
  16. Now wait a minute!! I have a 22 pound black and white cat who let's his brother steal his food and water and has never killed anything. He puts the pussy in pussycat.
  17. No attempt at caring is wasted. Despite what others on here may say. Even if those you're hoping to help ignore it. At least you know that you have tried. And ultimately, so do the others.
  18. True. But it took best part of five pages of posts, and a rather entertaining diversion, to bring it out. Go back and read RMH's original post.... Actually, I've read all of the posts. Post #22 really brought it out, but I guess it's taken this many posts for some people to actually pay attention. The thread didn't take itself on it's own diversion, ya'll managed to get it there, despite requests not to.
  19. That information alone could benefit someone. Someone wondering if there's anything they can do. That was the point of this post.
  20. Good luck there, Katee. These guys are so busy with their pissing contest they could care less what anybody else can gain from the thread.
  21. why don't you all STFU already? If we wanted to debate God, we'd go elsewhere. As YOU ALL should!!
  22. Well, truthfully, I think you Micro, and you, Squeak, need to do this. It's getting just plain silly between you two. And now, I'm sure we've all managed to get this sucker kicked to SC.
  23. Well, actually, I was referring to everyone who was taking part in the conversation......
