Education. I'd suggest the biggest problem seems to be the 'dumbing down' of the general American populace. A Vietnam vet I was working with recently reckoned the problem lies with schooling. So did his buddies. It just so happened I agreed. Besides. How many voted for Mitt? Jeezus. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" Should there be one single thread on the USA Election

Yeah, perhaps title it the new Bitchin' forum? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.' -

Actually, I'd beg to differ old boy. It wasn't that long ago when there *were* educational discussions here on SC. I'm trying to find a few right now. Just seems rather difficult these days. :) Oh , they occur and some can be pretty interesting. Odd that you chose this thread to post to. I mean, seriously, what were you thinking? As odd as you choosing to vaguely contradict yourself dear boy? I think I'll snuggle comfortably and pompously into the reassurance of being a native from a proper country. Where people talk properly. Albeit with bad teeth. And weather. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" Something very familiar about this thread... Still; I think it'll only take a short while longer until we see Kallend change into a rabid Republican and Rushmc a doo-la-lay Democrat. What other outcome could there possibly be??

It's a truly fascinating phenomenon constantly appearing before our eyes, right here! What's the point? Is anything ever achieved? Has anyone from SC ever changed their political affiliation through these debacles, sorry, debates? Or is it nothing more than a platform to primevally bash others who affiliate themselves to something different to you? But the constant bitching, belittling and squabbling! I haven't been here in ages and the first thread I read has the same people squabbling about the same squabbles! Can't we talk about guns or something!? Malala Yousafzai - The turning of the tide?
vortexring replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
A very valid point. I wonder how much Western media plays a part in encouraging heads coming out the sands? There's certainly a vast quantity of gutter press publishing stories that'll pop certain peoples heads back in...and deeper. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" Four in 10 Americans Believe in Strict Creationism?
vortexring replied to vortexring's topic in Speakers Corner
I came across this poll by Gallup: http://www.gallup.com/poll/145286/four-americans-believe-strict-creationism.aspx I was bit surprised, especially as in 1993/97 it was 47%. But my issue here isn't my surprise or what Americans believe in, but on the accuracy of the poll. They interviewed 1019 people in a country with a population of 300 000 000+ and claim the accuracy is within + or - 4%? Do other recent polls agree with the Gallup one? Do Americans here on SC generally agree the poll to be a fairly accurate measure of their countries religious beliefs? Edit: So any opinions on the actual poll and the number of Americans believing in creationism will be greatly received, as opposed to arguments over whether you believe in creationsim or not. Thanks -
LOL ... I don't think you know what an agnostic is. What can I say, we agnostics are a confused lot. I guess you must be, considering you said: 'I am not so sure Brevik is mad..." So was he fucking sane??? It's either one or the other! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
-
He was very mad. Why aren't you so sure?? I mean, he fuckin' killed numerous innocent men, women and children...and you're not so sure he wasn't mad? I couldn't care less on your religion. The fact is, you're saying you don't think a proven mad man wasn't so mad? Through mixing arrogance and pure evil...? Good day Sir! Ok. 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
-
Well, he was just completely mad. If he was as mad as the suicide bombers who flew the airlines into the WTC it's neither here nor there. Unless of course you want to build a religious 'thing' on the island where he committed his atrocities, becuase you 'feel' you have to acknowledge and worship whatever the fuckin' mad cunt was worshipping. Jeez... 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Ah you shouldn't believe everything you hear - I was only ever there as a double agent for Richard Dawkins secret underground Humanist Revolutionary movement. Got to lay the ground work for the uprising and all that. Not for quite a while, been mostly BASE for the last couple of years. Been meaning to head back though. Good for that - glad to hear you're having fun! I guess the daft debates will come later?? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Nah. Bag of hammers refers to someone's face: like a bag of smashed crabs...like a bulldog licking shit off a thistle...like someone who just stepped off the internet...teeth in all round defence...could eat a crab apple through a chain-link fence...:D Just ask Randy-pants ;-) 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" 1) It's not a mosque. 2) It's not at ground zero. It's 12 blocks away. Pfff... Then that's the argument dead and buried I guess. Cheers Quade - nice to see you're still so boring btw ;) But. Why has it changed from being a mosque? Why is it now 12 blocks away? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Oh FFS Neil & Christel; it's been awhile! I'm like having to learn and spell and look at grammar... And my msg was to Jakee - can't wait for him to man his guns and shot me down as usual - jetlag or not! And yeh Neil, what's wrong with talking to oneself I ask you, considering your posts in the past!? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
-
But that's such a non-answer mate. I do recognise your view of what the government can prohibit, but surely you've an opinion over this regarding the matter Mosque on ground zero - or no mosque on ground zero? And please include your thinking over your decision - I know it's not a simplistic answer over one or the other, of course it's not so black or white. And neither do I want to 'win' this chat or point score. I'm just genuinely curious as to why people might support the mosque on such a particular site! 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

Don't be shy lad. Last I heard you'd joined a cult that believed and worshipped creationism, ID, and fuck knows what else. You'd put all the dark days behind you. I was kinda surprised...
-
Thanks Bill! I'm sure we'll probably go into this particular debate in greater depth shortly, but there's something I do wish to ask prior to that. Are you in favour of the mosque? 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'

There is a thread on the front page of this forum right now in which two posters are affirming the existence of demonic possession, magic and supernatural powers. It's just weird. Hello Jakee!! How are you my friend!? Glad to hear you've replied - we need to get ourselves into an argument and get barred again or something. So how's things? Everything ok?

Christians didn't denounce Breivik? I missed that. I also missed that he was motivated to do so entirely by Christianity. And do the majority of people from Manhattan support this project? I'm amazed. No, in fact, I'm astounded. Could you please provide any links that support such a bizarre statement? Thanks. Hope you're well btw.

That'd probably just encourage them... 'for it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "chuck 'im out, the brute!" But it's "saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot.'
