Give it up for a while but like others here said.. don't sell your gear.. If you'd like, I'll hold onto your AAD that doesn't need servicing right now gear for you and keep it safely until you are ready to start jumping again.. Just pull out that little AAD and send it to me at pack up the whole thing and send it to me c/o Bay Area Skydiving in Byron CA.. Gimme a call when you want it back.. I just wanted to bring this up as it seems that it hasn't really been touched.. We are all wearing these things on our heads for the most part.. The weight differences between the 2 bodies are significant.. Prices now are only about $350 apart but the weight difference is 11 oz. As a 40yo fat guy, I consider the weight of everything I put up there and if I don't need the extra shots the 10d delivers, I'll sacrifice them for the saved 11oz. My complete setup only weighs 7-1/2 pounds.. or about 120oz. 11 oz. is alot to me, especially when it seems I am wearing it 10 times a weekend or more.. chopchop gotta go... I'm a simple guy.. the San Carlos boogie in Mexico in January.. warm weather.. small boogie, just one Otter.. warm weather.. nice resort on the beach.. every landing is on the beach.. warm weather.. packng is poolside.. I got it done about 5 years ago.. before I started jumping.. It is a very liberating, life-changing surgery.. jumping into a pool without a second thought, walking in the rain, skydiving in sunglasses.. Arrrrggghhh!!! that sucks! Who wants to go land in that big dirt field 15 minutes from the dz when there is a boogie going on? and use serious ballast.. My exit weight is close to 270.. Me hanging off of a 2-way can be too fast for some of the stingers.. Deuce and I hanging on an already fast 4-way is quite comfortable for most.. If you are ina smaller plane (We have a King Air in Byron) go to the 3 belly, 3 hanging configuration....
