i have no problem talking with you about the situation and i have no problem with you having different views. but stating that his post is "just facts and truth" is an insult to intelegence... israel was not created by france and england, but by the UN is nov. 47. the UN has divided the land into two states. israel accepted, the arabs declared war. the land was never "palestinian" it was turkish, then british and then israeli. there was never a palestine that was conquered. and you know it very well. "they put them in camps" ??? who put who in camps? when israel was founded in 48, some arabs chose to stay and became israeli citizens, those who chose to flee into the jordanian controlled west bank, egyptian controlled gaza or to lebanon were put in refugee camps, but not by israel. as you know when israel was founded many arab jews (from moroco, iraq, iran, yemmen, etc) were driven out of their home and were refugees in israel (they were in temporary camps for years). the difference is that israel (a young state with no natural resources) took care of them. the arab world chose to keep the palestinians in camps for political gain. not to mention that palestinians tried to take control of jordan (which resulted in deporting arafat and the PLO to lebanon , and then to tunisia). as for your "international law" posts, let me tell you one simple thing about internation law and the laws of war. i assume you are reffering to the "do not harm civilians" part of these laws ? right? lets look at a few parts of the geneva conventions' laws of war... all of the above are violated by the palestinians, they do not wear uniform and hide behind civilians, they often wear israeli army uniform just before blowig up, and the hostages list is not that short either. another example: ambulances were used many times to transport explosives (sometimes hidden under the patient...) so you can stop the BS about international laws. once they wage war in a way that is against any treraty they can't rely on this treaty to protect them. remember that many DZs (maybe not in the US?) do require AADs and if you plan on jumping elsewhere, it might be a problem. and i think its a good thing to have anyway. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

***Safety Count (done on all drills) (4 seconds) Locate Problem Look, locate, Cutaway Open Riser Covers Clear Risers Locate Bridle and pull pin (assuming it's still around) Knock main tray Pull Silver. Quote i've never heard such a drill. either pull silver (with ot without cutaway, your call) or try to reach back ONCE to free it. if you try to do all of it, as you noted, you'll die... 1) thank you for understanding. 2) peace talks were on and off since 1990, arafat took all he could in talking then when ALL of his demands werent met, he went back to violence. it took many years but now most of the world sees him as the reason for failure. they were offered pretty much all of the land in camp david, and refused because they could get all of jerusalem. if you want a history lesson, i'll be happy to give you one. israel was out of palestinian towns for years during the Oslo accords, it had to go back in when they become terrorist nests... 3)there is a solution and we all know what it will be, but we need a palestinian partner in order to omplement it. as for living here, what are you suggesting? that we pack our things and move? where to? would you leave your home or would you try to defend it? 4)sorry, sweden is already taken. finally, all i can say is that if the palestinians have had a more responsible leadership, which would negotiate and not resort to violance every time they didnt get what they wanted. they would have had a state by now. gee, how about phrasing the question in a less biased way? you, just like the UN, do not mention in a single word that this barrier (and again, its only a wall where its needed to prevent direct shooting) is there for a very sad reason. terror. its a security barrier that (like it or not) works. no one here likes it. it damages the landscape and costs a lot of money. but we need it because there are some "so called undesirable people" who want to blow me up. and as for the UN, this institute is a joke. the arab/muslim world has an automatic majority for anything they want. they can decide the earth is flat but it doesnt make it true. well it was invented. i didnt say who or by what force was it... i've expressed my vies on religion many times but they are my own. if someone believes in god and that gives him faith , i support that. faith is important. my problem is when people use religion as a tool to get things for themselves in the name of god. (make it donation, political power or suicide bombers) . "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

errr, dont you mean romans? islam was invented 600 years later i guess there was a jesus, i doubt what you read in the bible is his true life story. anyway, jews saw him as a false prophet but crucifiction was a roamn punishment to whoever was causeing problems (and thats the only "fact" i have for you) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i think i'll be taking a vacation from this thread religious is not stupid if it gives you what you need. as long as people need something to believe in, it will be there. i see it as a basic human need that is taken advantage of in order to control people. is there a god? if you want, there is, for you. maybe, but this goes a long way back so maybe its a mixture of it all, still the origin was land, which lead to violence which lead to distrust. I, for one would be happy to have more palestinian friends (of i'll be able to feel safe around them). its their leadership who i'm disappointed by. thanks its easy to lose prespective when you're within it all, just as it is easy to see it wrong from the outside. tough question. its not clear whether you mean muslim or arab. muslim is not a big deal , arab maybe. i'll look at it from civilian and security point of views about 20% of israeli citizens are muslims. and they are equal by law. these are arabs who remained here in 1948 when israel was founded and gained their citizenship by being here. they don't serve in the army and some of the benefits are given only to people who gave up 3 years in service. so in citizenship , they are equal (although sometimes it seems as though they need to work a bit more, but i guess its true for every minority) for example, my mother works in a hospital. there are several arab doctors/nurses and even patients and trust me when i tell you that the way palestinians act makes them really angry. thats leads me to the second more problematic issue, security. in many of the terror attacks, it was israeli arabs who helped and supported the terrorists (a place to sleep, a ride to the location, intel, etc) , which makes a whole section of the population a bit more suspicious. to make it short, israeli arabs' life is not perfect but most (if not all) of them would rather live in israel than in palestine. as for foreigners, its more an issue of who you are and where you've been. every foreigner (not only muslim) wanting to enter israel is checked, and he is questioned (if needed) about why is he here and where he has been. this can be very annoying and sometimes it can cause tourists not to return here. but when there are so many people who want to hurt you, you have to be cautious. they may look at your religion, but they'll mainly check your background, and intentions. leaving the security issues aside, at least with the people i hang out with, being a muslim wouldn't matter. being arab might matter for some , but it depends who you are. so yes, if you havent been in enemy countries lately and your record is ok, there shouldn't be a problem. with a US passport i'm almost sure no one will even ask, but sometimes they use profiling too (maybe not PC , but i think its a must in this case.) as for being jewish in an arab country, considering all of them were forced out (including my aunt who fled from Iran), i dont think it would be a good choice. its a tricky question, i'm not sure i can really answer it since i dont know of many muslims who want to make a new home in israel O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

funny, that was what i was thinking... i'd be very sad if that would be the only argument i have. but even if you go with the "who was here first" concept, we still win, even without the help of big G up there O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i have to disagree with you about that. the problems we have here are not about race nor about religion. culture, maybe. but its mainly a dispute about land and the right to live in it safely/independently. the religious differences are raised in order to raise support for a cause. there are a few millions palestinians, but there are almost a billion muslims. you can see why they want to make it a "religious" war. a side note, the palestinians had similar if not bigger issues with jordan in the west bank and with egypt in gaza before 1967, it wasnt about religion then too. well, it looks like ,errr, a helmet hard to say just by looking at it, but it has an inner pocket for audible which i like. they have a single point ratchet and chin cup which is also good. dont like the paint jobs on their website but that just me. also i'm not sure how much "wind protection" it gives because it doesnt have that elastic band some helmets have, but i really can't tell. price looks good. i guess you'll soon find out... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

i'm not a huge supporter of this theory but it reminds me of a joke... and on a serious note, the palestinians are here and they won't leave just because "god gave this land to israel." a solution must be found and it will be 2 states. why is the fence in the west bank? because thats where the trouble comes from. and its a security fence, not a political border. when it is no longer needed it will be removed. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

yeap, but unlike the allies in WWII for example, here the coalition is not needed for militrary power, rather to point that it is not a US war against iraq (even if it is the clear leader) no terrorist can win against trained troops in face to face combat. thats why they resort to terrorism, which is causing a state of fear by suprise attacks or attacks against civilians. and i agree, here in israel, a lot of people that were willing to go all the way for a peace agreement are now convinced that there is no one to make peace with. (and not only in israel) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

no, but since they usually don't have a stable strategy they usually make decision on the fly learning from each event. creating a direct link between their action and what is seen by them as a huge success will affect their next move. how? my guess is kidnal less americans, and more of the smaller nations that are more likely to pull out, leaving the US to clean up alone. this is a very smart remark. you should treat them not only as smart but as highly addaptive and innovative. Who's going to Aerograd (Russia) this summer?
falxori replied to vonSanta's topic in Events & Places to Jump
anybody flown there with transaero? i from their website: usually its 8 kg and although my rig is about 12 , i never had a problem with it. if it was just me, i'd risk it but we're going as a group of 25 people... anyone knows how strict they are? O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." -
first of all, i wasn't "swift" about anything, i just brought the report. what do i think about it? the same as i think of women who make up rape stories. she should get the same punishment as they would have got if found guilty. this stupid woman's "hoax" will now cause real racist actions to be looked at with doubt. again, these days its not enough that leaders are not organizing attacks. their job is to educate and make sure it doesn't happen. i just love it when people who don't know me decide what i do or don't know... not that i need to prove anything to you but i do know what i'm talking about and i'm "well informed about social and religious issues in France". france has a problem and its much bigger than anti-semitism. france has about a 20% muslim minority, many of which want to keep their original culture and habbits (being arabs in france instead of french of arab origins). i'm not saying its right or wrong to keep a separate community within the community, just that its a fact that bothers the french. sorry, maybe its my lack of understanding but i don't see your point. do you want a list of anti semitic events in europe in the last 4 years? the fact that one stupid woman made up a story doesnt mean there is no problem. "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

update. the "victim" admitted she made up the whole story. on one hand i'm happy that it didnt happen (although similar and as appalling attacks did happen) but on the other hand this issue is very important and needs public attention. sometimes i'm amazed by people's stupidity...
