  1. please, don't bring out the "Anti semitism" flag unless there is a good reason to. i don't agree with some of israel's actions sometimes but i'm pretty sure most countries would have reacted by wiping out whole cities if such terror acts would have happened in their back yard. O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  2. so please do... do you really think targetting a mass murderer and hurting another is the same as targeting the innocent civilians at the first place? you just say you dont: but yet on your first post here you reffered to the israeli troops targeting a well known terrorists, who is responsible to the death of dozens, as "fuckers" and pretty much compared them to the terrorists themselves... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  3. all of the above and more. its cool, its fun, it allows you to do more things and get where you want even on a windy day. but its risky and it can hurt. you'll know when you're ready to downsize, and i doubt anyone else could know it for you. its all about how you feel. i'm close to 300 jumps and still on my S2 170 which i have had since jump # 30 or so. can i handle a 150? yes. must i downsize? not really. the main reason i dont downsize is $$, but i'm still having lots of fun on my 170, so there's no rush... take your time. you'll know when its time (and then wait some more... ) O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  4. this is (in my opinion) where the DZs which issue these waivers have crossed the line of trust. you all talk about "being a family" and "dont sue friends". well, once the DZ did something knowingly that risks my life, they are no longer my friends. things i can check/ my fault? i wont sue anyone. a poorly maintained plane or a tandem master on drugs mean the DZ broke their word to me (and not every word has to be written in a legal form). the "waiver" type of contracts is often rejected in court anyway since its a one sided agreement and not the result of negotiations. especialy if the DZ actions were criminal. 5. depends where, by the coast (and its a long coast...) it can get up to 70-80% during summer which is not that fun O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  6. no need to. before we came we were told that the hotel in kolomna is "ok"... most of us stayed in the "ok" rooms which werent bad at all, but a few spoiled brats needed better rooms. it turns out that the hotel have about 3-4 types of room ranging from the basic (20-25 $ per room of 2) to a luxary 2 bedroom suit (about 100$). we also went on a day trip to moscow. you simply signal a local car (doesnt have to be a taxi) and tell them where you want to go. usually, they will take you whereever you want for a few $$. btw, as i said, the normal rooms are pretty ok and there is a supermarket right next to the lobby so you dont have to eat the crap they serve as breakfast O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  7. maybe because the US is a bit bigger? and you can't drive for 2 hours and be in another country like you can in europe... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  8. and why is that? i think that israel is the only country that has proven beyond any doubt that it is a responsible nation. even when it was close to destruction in 1973, no WMD were used. why Israel/US/france etc and not Iran? i dont remember israel or france threatening to wipe out the big western devil, or giving shelter to known terrorists groups. 16. actually modern hebrew is very similar to the one used back then. actually, when i often read (even in these forums) translations from the bible, i feel the beauty of the original text is not the same. i dont know about the Koran, my arabic is lame and most of what i know are bad words O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  17. not if you use the original O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  18. simply put, it can be done. for any camera with any helmet. i bought my L bracket for $30 or so, and a friend of mine made his own for about half the price. it all depends whether you have the tools and the gift. i don't but now i have friends who do it would be a good idea to copy a design or at least look closely at one, so you know where you need to leave some room to access the cam. good luck O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  19. jumping in russia was fun. sorry, thats all i can contribute here O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."

  23. thanks. i've learned a few things... O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
  24. just came back from there after amazing 10 days. great DZ, cool people and planes. i'll write a longer description when my fever goes down as for the visa, none of us (30 people) registered it anywhere and no one asked any questions. the only problem was when 4 of my friends were stopped by a police officer in moscow (not in kolomna). 1000 rubles (~$30) and they were allowed to continue. judging by the fact that police cars often used as taxis, i doubt the money went to the greater good of russia the DZ itself is great and beside one incident where the bus we've ordered back to the airport didnt show up on time (we still need to call them about that), they were very helpful and made our stay there one to remember. definitely a place to go to O "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero."
