hey I've got a full sized copy of that pic somewhere.... NYC... I gotta go there for a weekend soon. Oh, and did Melanie remind you to bring a case of brew when you make it to 'Snore? You can bring some of that homebrew RedHook or something.

AFF instructor course prepping with partner?
Shark replied to Jessica's topic in Safety and Training
Jessica, Someone else probably mentioned it, but know the bottom end sequence on Cat. C & D. It may save a mediocre eval dive. Not knowing caused some good flyers to wash out. And yes, manage your stress level and have fun. -
Mel, Nice pic. Did I take it?? Or was it at an undisclosed location?

Ah, your dropzone attire would fit in well. In fact, when you finally reach 200 show up in your "work" clothes so we may throw you in the swoop pond along with your Ferrari. I'm sure your employees love you as well. Obviously, your abilities and bank account are beyond the reach of us mortal skydivers.

Ummm.... sure........ I won't bother breaking it down for you.... Here is your sign Ooorah!

Nahh.....but how about an hour or so tour of my tent sweety. Sorry, dude. I am not a shark in sheep's clothing.

Yes. I can see the similarities between the capital markets and American supremacy. Interesting, but out there. Gimme a break. I only ignore whining bitches who want attention and believe their opinion is the right opinion.

You know we're all in!

Uh, ya never really left....

I do not believe Jacques Iraq would find that entertaining.

just like ventilating a nuke sub after a radiation leak...

Congratulations! The fun has just begun!

I always enjoy the looks that the tandem passengers give when they take that deep breath of freeflying farts. As an r-dub type I'm always close to the door so I can ventilate and breath fresh, cold air. When the meat haulers get them down, I explain that it is a cultural thing and to enjoy it as not doing so may insult the natives.

You don't know me....

I agree with skycat. Keep him in a crate and as soon as you let him out, take him out for a "walk" so he can do his business. Get him conditioned and soon enough he will feel it is better to pee outside than on your carpets. Lots of walks help, too.

It's no contest. Well, you gotta make good at both DZs.

So who's coming to compete at Skydive Elsinore?
-
I worked pretty hard at it, starting two months prior to it. My evaluators not only worked with me on the skydives, but also how to be a better instructor with real world examples. So, I concur that there should be a course to train you for the real world. Like I said, I am learning more as I go along. I expect to do many Cat. A & B skydives before going on to the higher levels. I will always be open to suggestions and ways that I can improve on being a better instructor.

Hi Wendy, I worked with 7 different designated AFF evaluators prior to the pre-course week, which I only jumped for 2 days in. Yes, I was familiar with the fall rate, but trust me, they can make it as difficult as they want it to be, but within the standards. As you know, there are a number of exit problems that they can present you with. We also had a "break-in" evaluator who was sort of a wild card because nobody had any jumps with him. It was also nice that the break-in evaluator wore all student gear with the exception of wearing his own rig. Another reason for jumping with the course director is to see if you truly are ready to begin the course. A couple of guys did not adequately prepare and it showed. Those guys are great flyers and unfortunately were not successful. Again, I get the feeling that you might believe that the course is now watered down, but they, the CD and Evaluators have to adhere to a standard. If they want to lose you, they will. Just when I thought that they could not funnel me, they did. Although I now have my rating, the real learning has just begun. Real world is very different than the course. For me I spent over a year with my Coach rating doing a lot of Cat. G/H stuff so I kind of knew how things "worked." I am a newbie. I am still learning and will always have that attitude to learn more. Shark Enclosed is a picture of a typical exit I was tasked with.

I dunno. It doesn't really matter. I'm coming whether he's there or not. Might as well. Besides, the Shark will be there...
