  1. If it's the stink you're worried about, let's outlaw coffee! "T'was ever thus."
  2. I don't think anyone is saying that. But it makes sense that a reduction in advertising would lead to a reduction in sales. (Seeing as the main point of advertising is to increase sales.) And a reduction in sales would mean that people are smoking less, which might mean that children are smoking less too. It frees-up space for alcohol advertising. "T'was ever thus."
  3. If you ain't rich, you're cannon fodder....it's America, dammit! "T'was ever thus."
  4. NEDZLDO "T'was ever thus."
  5. The first section of the newspaper you look at, is the obituaries. "T'was ever thus."
  6. Yea! THAT I want to hear!!!! I'm not crazy, dammit!!
  7. Well, naturally.....Kermit can immitate Robert Plant's vocals, to a "T" and everybody knows that Jimmy Page studied guitar, under Rowlf. "T'was ever thus."
  8. What's next..."Back In Black", by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?! How 'bout "Welcome To The Jungle", by Placido Domingo?! Oh hell, better yet...how 'bout "Roundabout", by Flatt & Scruggs!? "T'was ever thus."
  9. That's why creepers have wheels. "T'was ever thus."
  10. What point are you trying to make? I think their music is great, and it's nice to see more being done with string instruments. Apocalyptica is another example of great progressive rock done with all string. Just never thought I'd ever hear a Muzak version of "21st Century Schizoid Man"! What's this new genre called...."heavy wood"!?! "T'was ever thus."
  11. Ya' gotta' be sh**tin' me...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWS3ofzuiMU&feature=related "T'was ever thus."
  12. Bummer...amazing how much damage a little static charge can do. We keep an external HD on hand and back-up everything, every few weeks...just in case. Flash drives are cheap enough, for a short-term back-up but I wouldn't trust them for long-term storage. "T'was ever thus."
  13. Some songs just aren't right, unless they're done by the original artists. Just my op, of course...it's all in what you want to hear. For me, some stuff is almost sacred and to alter it or play it any less than perfect, is like blasphemy. There's a certain chemistry between bandmembers, that creates the true sound....the soul that goes into playing or singing. Easy example...Hendrix. Only one person, Frank Marino (Mahogany Rush), ever truly came close to replicating Hendrix. I'm a huge Hendrix and MR fan and have been, since their beginnings. Frank is almost a mirror image of Jimi, in voice and guitar style but when he covers Hendrix....it sounds like Frank Marino, doing Hendrix....but nothing like Hendrix. The vocals were real close and the guitar was exact but as for "soul"...he might as well've been singin' a restaurant menu. Kinda' hard to explain, I guess....just one of my quirks. "T'was ever thus."
  14. It is different but too muddy, for my taste. I always thought there are certain songs, that should never be covered (like this one)....'coz ya' just can't top the original. "T'was ever thus."
  15. Heavy Metal, naturally rules and Harry Nilsson's "The Point" was cool. "T'was ever thus."
  16. I believe that would fall under "downsizing"....best consult an instructor. "T'was ever thus."
  17. ....comes complete with G-spot detonator and IUD/IED. Caution: Operation in PMS mode not recommended, unit may go-off at any time and for absolutely no reason. "T'was ever thus."
  18. Padding.......bunches! Hey, new sport...hi-speed soil sampling!
  19. A most elegant post! Thanks! "T'was ever thus."
  20. Not sure how Good Friday will affect the tourist attractions but there's plenty to do there. Aside from the Manassas battlefields, it's a short ride to several of the other battlefields and if you're really into that stuff, Gettysburgh is about an hour and a half to two hours drive. You'll be in the Blue Ridge Mountains and there are several caverns in the area. Luray Caverns is probably the closest and in my op, the best of them....that's the one that has the "Stalac-pipe Organ". If you're into a nice drive, you're at the very north end of the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive. The scenery is outstanding and there are pull-offs, where you can stop and look across the Shenandoah Valley (sunrise & sunsets are awesome). As others have said, you're handy to D.C. and the convenient "park & ride" system. Fredricksburg is less than an hour away....Williamsburg , Yorktown and VA Beach are from about 2 hours to 3 hours drive, respectively. If you've got a ride and the time, it's well worth the trip....the Colonial Parkway (from Williamsburg to Yorktown) is a scenic drive and there's plenty to see, in both Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown. "T'was ever thus."
  21. Terribly sorry for your loss, losing a pet is always tragic...under any circumstances. When loved ones go, a piece of our heart goes with them but when a pet goes, a little bit of our soul goes too. My deepest sympathy. "T'was ever thus."
  22. The look on the customer's face, when they get a bill for computer scan & diagnostics....to replace a ball joint!?!!!........Horrified!!!!! "T'was ever thus."
  23. We prefer "Shade-Tree" thank you very much! Back when I started, we didn't get a title....just plain ol' mech. "T'was ever thus."
  24. Snakes are more afraid of you then you are of them... sheesh... doesn't everyone know that... I can tell you from experience....there are a lot of snakes out there, that are totally oblivious to that myth. "T'was ever thus."
