How would I give a skydiving trip as a gift?
yeyo replied to Vote4Pedro's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Plane tickets from Orlando to Puerto Rico are about $200 both ways thru Spirit...and we have our skydiving festival on the San Valentines week (feb13-18). So they have time to plan it well. Thats a great gift for any couple. HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -

I still dont understand what happened here. Dont know what they ment in the description '...wings jammed into the elevators'. Cant see what caused the canopy to spin, and cant see why the right riser was still attached after cutting away. Maybe suit fabric between the rings? Very close call and it looks scary, the reserve opened at around 150 feet with line twist. If someone knows something about this, or if 'Tom' is here, I would like to know. Great save btw! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaNuPzVXcUI HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Had my first one too last saturday... 28 WS flight, solo jump, first try to barell roll. I left 1 arm opened during transition, that kept me on my back (duh!) and started to spin. First reaction was to arch (instinct?), that didnt work and I balled up. Opened wings when I was facing earth. I was high and I recovered quick, Im guesing about 4-5 rotations, so it wasnt THAT scary. Actually it was kinda fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUVHB4W2JaE HISPA #93 DS #419.5

You fly to Mexico City... From there you got 2 options: -45min flight to Puerto Escondido for a bit more than $200 both ways (last I went). -Take a 12hr bus to Pto Escondido for about $30 each way (7pm-7am) HISPA #93 DS #419.5

I cant make it this year. But I recommend the trip to anyone. Never jumped there, but I been going to Pto. since 1991 (14 times) to surf, and the place is beautiful. The views from the sky must be breath taking. 15 yrs ago it was another thing, but now the food and accomodations are good and the beer is super cheap $. Zicatela beach faces SW, I can imagine a sunset beach jump and its worth the trip. Ill try in 2008. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

100 jumps or 987457 jumps. Theres something very important here that many are not considering. That is his experience doing 'extreme' stuff... When he landed I told him 'good job!' and his answer was "nah, i just stood there, my crew did a great job!". Then I said "ok, so good mental job" Thats the difference with him. Hes mentally prepared to do 'extreme' stuff and keep his cool. 40 years in the sport and many 1000s of jumps wont give you that. So forget bout jump numbers, the important preparation for this stunt has nothing to do with it. ...you all can now continue with the soap opera HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -

Travis Pastrana skydives with no 'chute
yeyo replied to joe399's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There was a metal ring showing above his shorts, in the lower back. The guy hooking him up climbed on him like doing a rodeo and used a carabiner. HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -
