I hope you never get into legal trouble and find yourself with a lawyer who "knows" you are guilty. - Dan G

Maybe if they had a path to citizenship that might change. - Dan G

No, the supposed motivation of the Democrats (often misinterpreted by rushmc's ridiculous websites) is shitty. But the motivations of the immigrants are certainly sound. They come here for a better life, which usually means working their asses off so their kids can go to college. No one crosses the Rio Grande to vote. - Dan G

Jesus Christ, dude. I've tried about three times to explain to you that a lawyer's job is not to decide if his client is guilty or not. Even if the client confesses to the lawyer, the lawyer still has an ethical duty to represent the client as vigorously as he can. It would be unethical for the attorney to do othwerwise. Why you can't understand that as a pivotal part of our adversarial system is beyond me. I understand that emotionally you don't think guilty people should "get off". But the way to make sure that doesn't happen isn't to tell their attornies that they shouldn't try as hard if they think (know, whatever) guy did it. The way to make sure guilty people don't get away with it is to conduct proper investigations, proper prosecutions, and afford them proper defenses. BTW, did you know that one of the reasons for a mistrial or retrial is poor representation by the defense attorney. Is that really what you want? - Dan G

And you keep ignoring the part of our system where a person is presumed innocent (by everybody) until they are proven guilty. If the lawyers could decide if a person is guilty, then we wouldn't need judges or juries, would we? Any lawyer who defends anyone in unethical ways has bad morals. Whether they think (see above) their client is guilty or not doesn't matter. - Dan G

A driver's license is a good way to make sure people who are driving know what they are doing. Emergency healthcare is a basic humanitarian right. Some argue that education is also a right, but even it is isn't, would you rather have the children of illegal aliens out on the street, or in school? - Dan G
-
Then they wouldn't be illegal anymore, so what's the problem? If you're against amnesty, just say so. It sounds like you're against recently legal immigrants voting. - Dan G
-
You're said that lawyers shouldn't defend people they think are guilty. You think it is unethical. What you don't understand is that lawyers should defend everybody. Even if they think a person is guilty. And they should defend them vigorously (within the law), regardless of whether they think they are guilty or not. It is not up to the lawyer to decide if the accused is guilty. That's the job of the judge and jury. - Dan G

Illegal immigrants can't vote. Do you think they should still be barred from voting if they become citizens? And please don't respond with "whoosh" or "you don't get it", etc. If you don't want to address my point, just don't respond, thank you. - Dan G

I agree 100% with your edits. Now see if you can get Anvil to agree. - Dan G

Well, sure they had lawyers. But the lawyers for the guilty ones were scumbags, while the lawyers for the innocent ones were virtuously fightign against the out-of-control liberal establishment. - Dan G

Obviously! You've really hit the nail on the head. Hillary is planning on winning the Presidency using illegal voters entirely. Genius! - Dan G

Maybe it was a failed part of Jade Helm. Obama can't even bomb a middle school in Texas without fucking it up. - Dan G
-
It's not imcomprehensible, but it's quite a stretch. If he was trying to get arrested, don't you think he would have made the clock look more like a bomb? How could he have predicted that the school and police would overreact to such a crazy degree? Implying that is was a set-up just helps people dismiss the problems, whicch are zero tolerance policies, anti-Muslim paranoia, and our ever increasing police state. - Dan G

Gimme a break. - Dan G

Ah, was "defended" I thought you meant that she defended the rapists actions, not that she defended them in court. I don't like Hillary at all, but I think everyone deserves aggressive defense in court, regardless of what they are charged with. - Dan G

Paging Christelsabine, Ibx, Mpohl (aka Germany WTF)
DanG replied to masterblaster72's topic in Speakers Corner
Dude, you were the one that went off on a crazy tangent. kallent pointed out that your Breitbart article was a lie and you tried to deflect it into a personal attack. How about you address the content of kallend's post? - Dan G -
She did? I thought the irony was that she defended Bill in his many cases of alleged sexual assualt/harrassment. I can't remember any thing like what you described. - Dan G

Trumps nightmare just came true; An immigrant took his job
DanG replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Both?!? Is that really what they said? - Dan G -
No, I think the proper phrase is, "Seriously, you are out of your depth, go back to misquoting scripture and posting Metallica videos." - Dan G

Go away now, the grown-ups are talking. - Dan G

Again, you haven't shown that she violated any of those policies (which were just the generic ruls on classification). The existence of policies doesn't mean that policies were broken. Most goverment e-mail traffic is unclassified. In fact, if people were sending her classified information over e-mail, they are just as much to blame as she was. If an address is on the SIPRNET, you can't freely e-mail to and from it to a NIPRNET address. But I'm sure you know that. If there was classified info going to her non-classified address, then it doesn't matter if it was a private server or a government server, the law was broken either way. - Dan G
-
I disagree, and apparently so did the DoS, which let her set up the system in the first place. - Dan G
-
If that's the case, she should be charged with multiple felonies. Do you have a security clearance? I have maintained one for over 20 years. I know the rules quite well. - Dan G
-
Teach me, oh great one. Do you have a reputable source that she handled classified material on her private server? Not speculation and maybes, but actual evidence? I haven't seen any. - Dan G
