I'd vote for 'em! There'd be less wars if leaders got regular BJs. - Dan G

What is it called when...and is it legal?
DanG replied to zf15z's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Why any straight jumper would want to do a Mr. Bill with another of the same sex is beyond me. A Mr. Bill with a cute co-ed? At least that makes some sense. I did one in my youth. Yes, it was with a girl. We used my Fury 220 that took forever to open from terminal, had my buddy hand deploy us out of the Cessna with a healthy cut. Hanging on was not a problem. It was fun, but not so much fun that I wanted to do it again. - Dan G -

The guy's from Ireland, for God's sake. Do you know the names of all the Irish polititions from the 1950s? - Dan G

Nice non-response. Your earlier posts complained about how intolerant of foreign cultures "they" are. Do you really not see the irony/hypocrisy in your intolerant posts about their culture? You expect them to drop their cultural identity to fit in to America/Germany/wherever, but you refuse to drop your jinjoistic American attitude to fit in in Kuwait. How's that for reading comprehension? - Dan G
-
So you live in Kuwait? Have you adapted to their culture? From your posts here, I'm guessing not so much. Why do Kuwaitis living in the US have to adapt to the culture they live in, but you don't? - Dan G

I was just stating my opinion. I was trying to avoid getting into a semantics argument with you, and I just took the opportunity you presented by refering to Lara rather reasonable post as a rant. I took that as a sign that you were espousing the "with us or against us" mentality, but apparently I misunderstood. Sorry. I did reread it, and I think I missed some of your point the first time. I disagree, however, that Lara's post was disrespectful in any way. She made a statement, and is sticking by it. The fact that refuses to grovel to out of control fanatics on DZ.com is great. - Dan G
-
Sure, do you really consider that a rant? Maybe you should read it again. Like another poster said, the anti-Skyride thing has gotten ridiculous. To the fanatics, a person can be anti-Skyride, but still not anti-Skyride enough. It really makes people turn a deaf ear to otherwise legitimate points. - Dan G

Just make sure the truck or other commercial vehicle you are working under has been properly secured by sturdy jacks. Otherwise, good advice. How will you know if your movements are correct? Youtube can't provide feedback. - Dan G

Yeah, cause enemy soldier casulaties are the only goal in war. This isn't Risk, people. - Dan G

Yes, but to really mirror the healthcare system we have right now, you should also be allowed to go to the firing range anytime you want, and if you can't afford ammo, the range has to provide it for you for free. Not the good stuff, but enough to keep you adequately trained. To pay for it, they just charge their other customers. - Dan G

Do me a favor and read the redstate link you provided earlier. - Dan G

In the Iowa gay marriage thread, you were repeatedly, and from all sides, told why the judges' ruling was non-activist. Obviously, you didn't listen. I do not expect you to listen here, either. - Dan G
-
You see wrong. Activist does not mean, "things rushmc doesn't like." As far as their being voted out, that's up to the people of Iowa, but I have never liked the idea of elected judges. Especially Supreme Court judges. The judicial branch is supposed to be insulated from politics. - Dan G
-
Yeah, and if you had read the link you provided the blogger points out that even without a severability clause, it would be normal practice to sever the unconstitutional portion and let the rest stand. Politically it might be a bad idea. Legally it is the non-activist thing to do. - Dan G
-
That's a political opinion, not a legal one. If the judge thought that the mandate was unconstitutional, he should have done what the VA judge did, and servered it. What to do with the bill after that is up to Congress. - Dan G
-
It was an activist ruling because he declared the entire law unconstitutional instead of severing the individual mandate. He had no legal basis for declaring all the provisions of the law unconstitutional. - Dan G

Medicare Actuary Doubts Health Care Law Will Hold Down Costs
DanG replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
What makes you think that? I agree that is a stupid provision. Obama recently stated he would be okay if that were removed. You must have missed that. So true, so true. - Dan G -
Medicare Actuary Doubts Health Care Law Will Hold Down Costs

Which numbers you believe depends on your preconceived notions. If you want the health reform bill to be bad, believe the Medicare Actuary. If you want it to be good, believe the CBO. Both are independent accounting bodies. The fact is that all the numbers coming out are projections. They are estimates of what may happen in the future. They are subject to change. This report is no different that any of the other projections, but the OP siezed on it because it supports his position. - Dan G
