Sounds like in that one they tried to prevent him from bleeding to death. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

I'm not familiar with the facts on that one, can you please summarise? My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

I imagine that the bond between the cop and the dog was very strong so the cop would naturally be preoccupied by the fact that his dog was dying. May sound harsh but people tend to prioritise and the gunman had just moments before been waving a gun around. In fairness the man was aware of the consequences of his actions. The dog on the other hand was simply an innocent creature doing what humans trained it to do. They airlifted the dog to trauma center and left Deandre to bleed until the next morning That is better than sending your men in to possibly be ambushed by the guy. When they say "come out with your hands up", come out with your hands up. I would not want to have to storm a house with an armed man in it. He was probably concerned about the well being of his own officers. Where is the evidence that race is the predominant factor in these incidents. With the amount of bullets that hit him, I doubt he was alive when they dragged him. The web links that you are posting, with names like copwatch and"refuse and resist" they hardly sound like objective oversite groups. Anyway I was not here to bash the deceased gunman, I do feel sympathy for his family, I just thought I wanted to post about the tragedy of the poor dog who was the innocent one here. It really is quite upsetting to watch. Thinking that the poor guy was just being a loyal devoted servant to his trainer, the poor guy got shot up by his own people doing what he had been conditioned to do probably since puppyhood. Again the video description claims he was airlifted out. If he did not make it, I at least hope the little guy didn't suffer too much. As with anything on the web....grain of salt. I'm not a cop so I do not know what the correct procedure is in a situation like that. I guess I was more bothered by the poor dog getting it, and curious as to why the dog wasn't kept under tighter grips if they were getting ready to fire. For the owner sure, but not the dog. It's not his fault. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Should there be a televised Christmas excecution of Saddam?

Police dog tries to take down suspect while the cops are unloading on the guy and gets hit in the crossfire. Poor little guy, he was just doing what he was trained to do. You can see the video here (WARNING to dog lovers-you actually see the poor little fella get shot). http://ebaumsworld.com/2006/11/shot-by-police.html He was still alive when the camera stopped rolling and apparently he was airlifted out. Hope he made it. Why wasn't the dog kept on a leash? My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within.

Ever hear the expression "Lions led by donkeys"? No, but it sounds like an accurate description of the current situation. My biggest handicap is that sometimes the hole in the front of my head operates a tad bit faster than the grey matter contained within. -

That is a wee bit cold, and harsh. While I claim no expertise, I am sure that failure is that of the leadership and not the poor groundpounders who are actually doing the fighting. Cell-hones drive me up the @$#&*%ing wall. I wish to god people would think before using them in 99% of all cases. I do not hate technology but most cellhone users make my blood boil. Personally I would find it more gratifying to simply shoot the guy. I bet I would get a standing ovation for doing that. Indo-Canadians in Surrey BC complain that bylaws limiting house size are racist http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2006/12/06/bc-surrey-homes.html I really do find mega-houses to be an eyesore myself and I have personally seen how these things have blocked sunlight from neighboring backyards. It seems to me that housing regulations existed to protect owners from having thier property devalued due to actions of neighbors long before Indo-Canadians started dominating our immigration make-up, so my default position is that they are playing the race card to get thier way. If one disagrees with the idea of housing regulations that is fine but I think it is a stretch to start attributing this to racism, however that never seems to stop some people from trying. ***The funny part is he made that pretty clear in the original post, whether you know him or not. But some people will hear what they want to hear anyway. *** Speakers corner behaviour. Anything you say can and will be taken out of context so someone can get rightly indignant, and ofended thus feeling justified in starting a fight. When you explain what you meant people will still haggle endlessly over your wording, since what you actually meant by your wording does not inflame enough to start a fight. I agree with you to the extent that I am sick of petty lawsuits and the lawsuit industry which is fueled by unscrupulous ambulance chasers. I do however see that there is a place for lawsuits to cover real damages. For me the criteria to sue would be (in laymans terms since I did not study law); >Was there negligence or intent on your part. For example if you were driving drunk (negligence) or if you saw me in a bar and did not like me and thus beat the shit out of me (intent) > I did nothing to contribute to the probabilityof my being injured (ie I was not in a car with you knowing you were drunk so we could joyride, or I tried desperately to get away from a fight) > I have incurred real financial loss as a result of your actions (ie I had to spend $2500 getting my teeth repaired, lost wages during a hospital stay,...etc) If all three of those criteria are met I would sue, but only to cover any losses that are a result of your actions. I would not look at it as an opportunity to get rich. Unfortunately our society is now so lawsuit happy that it gives a bad name to the ones who really have cause for compensation. Woman leaps to death with child over a highway over pass.

As much as I sympathise with anyone who reaches the stage where they want to take thier own life I cannot understand or empathise with someone who feels the need to take someone with them, paticularly an innocent child. I am curious. If being part of this religion makes him happy then why change it? Trying to push atheism on someone can arguably be seen as the equivalent of a churchgoer trying to convert someone to his/her religion. To each thier own. He made a mistake but I do not think he deserves to be penalised for it. It should be seen as a lesson learned. I doubt the cop could have possibly felt that his actions were putting the kids life in danger. It should become an issue of procedure. Maybe there was no policy before on whether a minor can go in the front or back.
