Do you believe in the mighty powers of the coin?
Vallerina replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
"Just flip a coin!" This is beyond just a cute little saying. It's darn good advice! When faced with two choices that you can't decide between, the coin really does know what's best for you. Take for example my decision today. I'm trying to give up caffeine (again), but I am just so tired. I sat here debating if just one cup was really all that bad (I didn't have any caffeine yesterday!), but I want to try to get away from caffeine. I flipped the coin on whether or not I should have some coffee, and it said, "Yes!" I had some coffee, and people seem to think of me as less of a "bitch" now! The coin really does know all! (My old coworker is disagreeing and uses his Magic 8 Ball to its fullest extent.) Note: I do not advise anyone to use the coin for anything "important." I was thinking about the day where my brother and sister-in-law had to clean out their garage full of CRAP (mainly my brother's.) The neighbors got quite an earfull of "Damn it, Rob! What the Hell are you doing still keeping this $hit around?!?!?!" My brother, much like myself, can be a pain in the ass. They bicker. They argue. They've been together for over 10 years and married for almost 5. They have a fantastic relationship, though. It's not her fault my brother would annoy the crap out of anyone, though! If we have another day that goes above 90 degrees, I'm going to lose it! I've never looked forward to the day where the high might be 85 degrees! The worst part...it's only June!!!! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Any psychologists/counselors/psych majors here?
Vallerina replied to windcatcher's topic in The Bonfire
One of my good friends was a psych major. She's had a really tough time finding a job, so she's a paralegal right now. I thought about going into psychology because it fascinates me. However, it seems like if you want a good job in that field, you will need education beyond an undergrad. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning -

I'm not going to beg you to keep bowling. If you want to quit, then quit. Most people who start bowling quit within a few years anyways. And no one should feel ashamed of quitting. Sometimes, it's hard to put the ball back in the bag when you're pressured in the lane. You gave it a shot. If it didn't work, maybe you'll find something else you enjoy! I will NEVER understand people who do that. It just seems like a BIG waste of time. Do they really plan on just staying in a situation they don't really want to be in FOREVER if they don't find someone else? I also never understood needing to have someone (but, I also rarely dated in high school or college. It seemed like a waste of time back then.)
