  1. Alcohol..ick. Causes me to drunk post. Ooops. Anyways, did you ever notice that boys (or girls, whichever your preference) start liking you the minute you stop liking them? Ick. At least my car is at my apartment's parking lot tonight, so I don't havee much room for complaining.! Okay, goodnight! "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  2. He he....yeah, I guess I don't really have room to talk on this subject matter, seeing as I am not to wise as how real relationships are supposed to work (I have issues with that "compromise" thingy you were talkin about-I just can't do it!) I agree with the whole not dating at the dz thing, though. I avoid weird situations as much as possible; breaking up with someone at your own dz would probably push one person away from that dz (known from a somewhat personal experience.) 3. I would've had my roommate drive me to my car as she usually does, but I forgot that she wasn't here this weekend...oops! But, all is well and my car is now home with me! I'll be leaving shortly to start drinking again and to start the whole ugly process over again! "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  4. Yeah, I feel like I'm stuck in that movie "Dude, Where's My Car?" Hopefully, my friend will get home from work soon and take pity on me. "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  5. Not to get into some weird philosophical argument, but by saying that, YOU are telling him what to do. Some people are happy being submissive to their sig. other. It's not for me, but I know a couple of people who are too immature and need someone to "guide" them. Also, I sometimes think it would be better to marry a whuffo. At least that way, I know one of us is saving some dough (in hopes of retiring at the age of 40.) "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  6. I'll probably be 80 and still love the drunken, random make-out. It's okay, though, since Cosmo says that makin' out is good for your health, good for your teeth, and just plain good for the soul! Oh, and I still don't have my car! 7. That's kinda funny! I met a boy last night that I hung out with for a little bit. He found out that I like to skydive after my dz friends walked in. He told me he wasn't sure how to talk to me since I had bigger balls than him! Whatever. I've only had a few dating experiences since beginning skydiving. I don't think it matters if you date a whuffo or a skydiver (I've had extremely scary experiences with both.) My advice (doesn't count for much, but often works for me) to you caledoniankid, is to be careful dating anyone who doesn't let you do what you want. Favorite DZ?

I agree with Phreezone in that Lake Wales was a very cool place to jump at (I wish I could've been there for more than a week.) I enjoyed Skydive Illinois as well (the organizers were great, the Otter rocked, $10 jumps are nice, and hanging out with everyone after jumping was fun). 9. Tell me about it....my car is still at the bars, so I have no way of getting to the dz. "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  10. Yeah, I wouldn't have paid that much money unless it was something that I REALLY wanted. Like Phreezone said, I have an obsession (I have HUGE slippers of Homer's face, a poster-yeah, I'm odd.) Also, I haven't noticed scratches or scuffs on anyone else's helmet, so I'm pretty confident it'll last me awhile. Also, if I can't look cool in freefall, my helmet may as well! "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  11. The guy who did my helmet charges about $200 or so (depending on # of paints and all that stuff.) It's a bit pricey (that's why I got it as a very late Christmas gift), but it's alot cheaper than Troy Lee designs and Bullseye (they start at $700 or so.) Rodman does great work (I got exactly what I wanted) so, here's his website: http://rodmansvisuals.tripod.com "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  12. You are now officially cool! Anyone who loves the Simpsons is okay with me. I guess I took my obsession with Homer a bit too far though...oh well! "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  13. My "skydiving song" of the present moment (also the one I use in my signature line) is Rusted Root's "Back to the Earth". It's a groovy band that's all tribal and zen like. Back to the earth I screamed and no one listened to me Back to the earth I lived and they all followed Come and see my world Come down now to brighten my way They come and see my world would you fly high Come and see my world Ride my way Back to the earth I feel it, back to the earth I'm fallin' Back to the earth I feel it, back to the earth I'm fallin' Hey-o-mama free my soul (hey-o-ly-mama) Hey-o-ly-mama (Hey-o-mama free my soul) "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  14. I just got my custom-painted helmet back from my friend Rodman the other day. He painted a skydiving Homer Simpson with a background that matches my stuff. His other helmets looked great, but this one certainly outdoes the rest! I posted a (not so high quality) picture of my brand spankin new helmet for your enjoyment! 15. Hell yeah I'll be there! I'll be the tall blonde girl with a bright blue jumpsuit with hot pink grippers. I'll also be the one to stay up till at least 4 am getting drunk! "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  16. I saw it! With all the work you did for them, I expected a huge production from it. However, it looked like a beautiful place (pre-hurricane) to jump, and hopefully it was worth it, with or without tons of MTV exposure. "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  17. That sounds perfect for what we are looking for! Since we're aiming our talks for people who are just entering (as in they may have only one or two skydives), don't worry too much about putting it online (although I would love to read it for my own personal sake.) Actually, any basic seminar/essays/whatever other information that is nicely put together so we don't have to do too much work would be appreciated. "Back to the earth I feel it; back to the earth I'm fallin" Rusted Root
  18. I loved Fandango! I voted for it merely because it's the only movie I could stand to watch a second time through. "They misunderestimated me" George Dubya
  19. The club pres. and I had a conversation the other day about finding seminars online. We've heard a couple of good ones here and there, and we'd like to present them as best as we can to our club members who haven't had the opportunity to go to other dz's and gain the same knowledge. Does anybody know of any good seminars available online (for example, Brian Germain's talk on canopy flight is available online). Okay, thanks! "They misunderestimated me" George Dubya
  20. My friends at the dz (like any good mentors would do) try to give me different goals and things to try out in my skydives. Since I'm still new to the sport, most of my jumps have been attempts (and a few successes) of docking on a ~ 4-way or so. Unless it's bigger than 6 (or the jumps with my Purdue freeflying friends), it's usually not launched. Sunday, I did a 3-way. We decided to launch a compressed accordian (with me in the rear-float position) out of the King Air. Despite the fact I didn't hear/see a count, our exit rocked and I actually turned a point on the hill for the very first time! Woo hoo!!! Next time, I'm gonna try for two! (I was so amazed by the first point, I was paralyzed for a second or two!) The rest of the skydive also went well (many points) even though I smacked one of the guys in the face (he probably deserved it anyways.) I love RW! Pro-Track

I put my Pro-Track either in my frap-hat or in my Z1, so that won't be an issue for me. Also, I never actually heard the long beep at 1000 ft indicating that the batteries are low. There's also nothing on the screen saying that the batteries are low. I replaced them anyways, and I'll try it again in two weeks. "You laugh at me because I am different, and I just laugh at you."

    Pro-Track

I do look at the display after every jump, but I've only jumped with it about 12 times or so. The book says it's supposed to last for 300 jumps or 1.5 years in the automatic mode, meaning much longer in the eco. mode. They put an extra four batteries in the box it came in, so I guess I'll try one of those out. Hopefully, this occurrence happened because of my Pro-Track sitting on the shelf too long, like you guys suggested. Arg......if that doesn't work, I can always talk to Larsen & Brusgaard. "You laugh at me because I am different, and I just laugh at you."

    Pro-Track

My Pro-Track is basically brand new. It's been working great, and I've had a lot of fun with it up until my last jump. For some freakish reason, it didn't log my jump yesterday. The 1000 ft warning altitude warning went off in the plane, but my pre-set warning altitude didn't at breakoff. Could the battery already be weak after only a month of usage (on the Economy mode?) The logbook was on, and I hadn't changed any of the settings from the day before when it worked. What's wrong with it????? (My own disclaimer: I didn't post it in the Safety part since I'm obviously not dependent on it, and I use it just for fun; I didn't post it in the Gear section since it's just an accessory.) "You laugh at me because I am different, and I just laugh at you."
  24. "Or just that drunk? " Who? Me? Nah.... I decided posting is much more amusing after drinking at 50 cent Bud Light night at the bars. My status just changed to "Enthusiast" so I better start acting like it! "You laugh at me because I am different, and I just laugh at you."
  25. "So am I still allowed to jump at SI? " Yeah, if your ankle ever heals, ya gimp! "You laugh at me because I am different, and I just laugh at you."
