I own one and I don't hate it. What I hate are the life of the batteries. I can't seem to keep a decent charge. I also really dislike talking on it while trying to drive. I almost never make a call while driving. If for some reason I get a call while driving or have to make one I do it as fast as possible. There is nothing worse then getting behind someone in the fast lane whos rambling on their phone not paying attention to what's going on around them. They do tend to slow way down. Which in turn congests the freeway, which can cause accidents.. etc.. etc... I'm all for banning the use of cell phones when behind the wheel period.. No headset, no hands free.. banning the use period! So I guess I have one and use it regularly just not when driving. I started jumping in 01' had a non-jumper gf. I still have her. She was very supportive about my love of the sky. Cept for the bitching about being at the DZ ever single weekend. Which she didn't have to come with every weekend either. Something about trusting me but not the skyhawties who were always around. Anyways.. I'm not jumping anymore. I've sold my gear and completely given the sport up for now. This was my own desicion. My whuffo GF had no say in it at all.. Even though I think she's a bit happier we're not at the DZ all the time. I'm in the oil biz. The company I work for sells pipe inspection equipment. Inspection systems that sit on the floors of steel mills all over the world. This systems range in price from a couple hundren thousand to multi million dollar installations. USD that is. Anyways.. I'm in the export dept. I handle all the "IS" shipments to our overseas customers. So I do this for a living. I have not seen any increase in shipping, sales, spare parts nothing. Actually I've seen a decrease in sales and shipments to some of the countries we delt with on a weekly basis. Now this change can be atributed to wars in countries we probably shouldn't have gone to in the first place. But, we're there now no matter what. The lower $ value overseas has not impacted me one bit. Most large screen TVs that have the "monitor" ability can normaly only run a resolution of 800x600. If you go any higher you get the hz skip you described. From a distance it looks like lines are running down your screen. Try lowering your resolution and see how that works. Just my 2cents. I looked into buying a bigger higher priced TV set when I was replacing my old one. I thought it would be cool to also use it as a computer monitor.. Then I read the specs and found it's limitations. Their just not made for the resolutions a nice graphics card (GPU) can produce these days. I'll have to agree with this statement. I'm in Houston (bah) went to school in Austin and worked in Midland.. Out of them all, I would choose to live in Austin.
