We like any beer as long as it is served in case:s when we don't expect it :) After living a year in Denmark I know what I want ;) And after being in USA and with Tom Aiello I know what bee ris, its the King of beers Tom espessially liked the King of beers. Thank you Tom! In the Swiss valley we tryed to drink along with the brittish guys during their "sub-terminal tracking school" or what it was. But they didnt understand drinking at all. I thaught those colonisers on the little Island was good drinkers but I guess I was wrong. But we showed them what a party was after dancing on Max Hurd's bed while he was sleaping, singing and chanting. That was a good party after all. Awimmawee Awimmawee. sorry for being politicly incorrect. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Ok. I have read this conversation a couple of times to get it right. Thee ar many if's in the matter of having a BASE-student. At first I dont like it. Im not found of training other people to BASE-jump. It sucks. But, when I do train new jumpers I do have some standard rules now a days. Fisrt I refuse to take money for training. Its imoral and from that first day Im erning money on sombody else taking a great risk Im in danger. If it is good money, and it fucking should be, Ill be in the situation that Id really , really want him/her to graduate so I can get that money, or if I make the deal that I get the money even if he/she doesnt graduate, I leave students that might suck but probably will keep on jumping without my help. Another thing is. I always start Slider down. With a decent landing area and form a safe object. Why Slider down. Well to jump slider up I need a terminal object. And when I say Terminal I meen 10 seconds delay, the pull then a really nice overhang. The oly place in the world with this is Karlskråtind or Katthammaren in Norway. If not the object is probably SubTerminal and there fore the most dangerous object we have in the world. (A sub terminal E has taken far more lifes than any other object) I prefere to drop students from either a bridge or a Antenna. Because they are not Solid objects. They have real winds not turbulense. And why Short delays? Well In Skydiving you either go static line or AFF. In BASE we cant go AFF so then Students have to gp on their own. If they fuck up their exits (and they will) I rather see them so a short delay in good winds fro an antenna than going unstable from a 3000ft cliff. Skydivers might think that the 3000ft will save them from death, but they are som wrong. Cliffs are bad, they are big solid objects with many obsticles and many prblems combined with them. Its not the Altitude that helps you if you are pulling to high. And when you are standing on Kjerag for the first time for your first jump ever you will either pull t high, subterminal close to the cliff or you will go away from the cliff ad probabaly pull to low. Cause after seeing many skydivers start their base-journy I know they track like shit. And what about protection. Well. If you feel good wearing it. then go for it. weare it and have a nice jump. It doesnt make you a better jumper, but absolutley not a worse one. I agree with you Robert, AAD and new fancy gear makes people feal safer. But the story is that most of the jumpers Ive met doesnt now shit about their gear, about the mountains about weather. Skydivers are horrible they dont even know who packed their reserve, they dot know the german guy that made their Cypres, they have no clue what a "out of sequence opening" is. They are lucky if they can find the fucking aeroplane. This is scary stuff, but one thing guys and gals. When you go out there to do something. Make sure you know what your doing cause otherwise it might be tha last thing you do. And if you die you cant jump another time, if you back down or just go flat and stable, You might survive for another jump another day. have a nice one and stay disco! /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

He doesnt need the key to the roof , he can go stowed from his balkony instead. You know what I would do Micke! ;) /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Almost every weekend the Stockholm Crew takes the car to our local antenna to do some nice climbing. During the climb we had -19 degrees and some winds. We felt fresh and stong all the way up (?) Actually the climb was so nice , that we did anotherone. Tom is the WS master. He is allmost as good in WS as he is in Tracking! (That was a giveaway tom I had to ;) ) Anyway I had about 150 WS skydives when I did my first. I do recomend a 100 before you Start with the BASE WS. Also do some training jumping BASE-jumps with youre Arms close to you body. I recomend a suit that is easy to fly and easy to pull. Like Acro, Prodigy, S-fly, /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Thats Dan Olden, He is dead now.Supricinly not from freeclimbing, but from cool kingswinging in the carlifornian valley with old ropes. But hell man that was some fast climbing. my god! Something tells me he did that rout a coupple of times. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden
-
But hey. I can say that Im climbing fast because of one reason. Tecnique, nothing else. My friend is quite big, but with muscles. It doesnt matter. I have seen very fit guys climb slow and they get very tiered. If you climb with good tecneque and with the right mindset you can go fast. Its like running 20 Km, you have to use all tecneque you can find to make it. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Well Tony I think they give us a fair deal. They have work to do, we have jumping to do. Through cooperatione with telephones we most often solve our problems. They are not talking about banning us from the valley. I think that it is a quite nice way of treating us if you compare with other valleysin the world. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Let me refrase that: Espesially a cop needs a good hooker a some fat lines od cocaine. Might just make a person out of him. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

I have a friend that constantly jump slider up from 120 meters (380 ft) Because he allways have the intetion fo climbing high with us to 1000 ft. But he gets very tiered and lacy and decides to do a jump from a lower platform. ;) /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Re: [TomAiello] what's a good 1st BASE canopy??
MartinRosen replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in Archive
That is a problem with some vented canopies but also with unvented canopies. Ihave three different kinds of experience with three different kinds of canopies. I had some problems on my Flik 293 in landings. Every time I tryed to land on really deep breakes. I fell backwords in a stall and we could clearly see that the vent-covers opened during the flare. This is a problem with the models of covers. The Troll Covers doesnt have that problem. The other experience is with my VERY old Mojo 260 (I have more than 750 jumps on this one) I have some problem with backsurge during opening and the canopie sometimes goes into a stall. This is probably a cause of my breaksetting on my new stearinglines in a combination with that my line-trim is very old and probably really bad. But I love that parachute so... The third one is with a Black Jack 260. I jumped slider down and it ended up flying backwords on every jump. This is probablyy a cause of bad break setting. It wasnt made for me. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden -
Thank you for reporting this. This is the way it should work. Air Glacier is THE KING! THey know how to talk to basejumpers. We should pay there respect Cause they respect us. (and get some money from us ;) ) But I like the way they do this, Nothing is forbidden they just ask us for some help and respect for their business and for their needs some times. THat is A fair deal for letting us jump there without restrictions. THey could stop us if they wanted Ill gues or Illegalize us anyway. THanks again for reporting through them as well BASE_1007. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Hey. I usually fly my old Mojo 260, packed in a just as old Perigee Pro, when I fly wingsuit . But I have made many jumps with my 293 on wingsuit as well. There is a lot of talking about drag. And yes there is some drag from a rig, but I have never felt that big of a differens between rigs. If your going for a big parachute. Do it for safety , for use in areas where you need that extra canopie-time and slow landings. In Places like Norway you wont need that size. I have 3 rigs. Flick 293 for tight subterminal stuff Mojo 260 for slider up stuff Mojo 220 for terminal tracking and WS FLying /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Well Legal and legal. THere is one thats not legal. Actually the best one and the highest one. THere the Police is just as unecesary square as in the US Terminal valley. One of my friends got busted there this summer. thats 3000 USD fine. and they burn your gear. THats in NOrway and my friend lost his stuff for being a clumbsy cunt. (sorry mate haha you asked for it) He lost his gear but got a nice PostCard instead. Niiiice. BUt tha good thing is that you can jump everythin else thats around this place. and the shortest clif in the valley is 1000 meters. Anyway here in Sweden its Xmas-eve and in our country thats the main-day. tomorrow(25th) its nothing cause were not christians we just use the X-mas for good food and drinking. Oh and getting away from work. We use to be wikings and beleaved in ... ee.. fighting, dringking, eating meat and sailing to England and stealing there chicks.THats why there is no good looking chicks in England (duck and cover). Anyway merry X-mas you guys. Dont be angry, just offended.Im kidding...or am I? ;) /Martin - Team Bautasten /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden

Well thats USA for you guys. Sweet to be in a country where I actually have rights. Oh yea another thing. I think these heroes (jumpers) had it coming. As my father use to say. If youre dumb, you got to be tough. If you are this stupid, you have to take it like a man. Rangers are workers. there work is to run after us, our work is to run away. thats normal. /Martin - Team Bautasten of sweden. /Martin - Team Bautasten of Sweden
