I picked 500+ jumps. It has been my experience that with waaaayyy more than that I am constantly challenged by my friends with the quote "Rainbo, who taught you to skydive like that!?!" I'm still digesting the intinial conversation with the doc. I guess I am hoping that the initial approach will keep things from progressing to the point that the alternative would come into play. Yeah the joint inflammation is akin to rheumatiod arthritis. Needs to be treated the same way. All caucasians have the gene that causes the syndrome. Just more prevalent to occur in males or as in your mothers case because of the fever. OK. So I have been in an excrutiating amount of pain lately. Did not want to go to the doctor since I am not working. Finally broke down an went this last Friday. Wierd how old strange shit can come back to haunt you. Back in the mid 80's we use to go to Z-hills on T-Day, X-Mas, and Easter to compete in 10,20, & 40 way comps. At the end of the trip we would all always go and eat oysters and drink beer on the last night. Well on this one trip we got some bad oysters & 7 out of 10 on our team got sick. I ended up in the hospital for like 2 weeks, almost died. It was weird, but not as weird as what happened next. My body started going haywire as I got better from the food poisoning. Got pink eye, then painful skin rashes, painful wee-wee, swollen joints. Had piles of docs all scratching thier heads. Turns out that white males are susceptible to something called Reiter's Syndrome that gets activated by severe intestinal disorders. Anyway this pain was in my lower spine and hip. So the Doc looks some shit up and figures out after I gave him my history that I am having a recurrence of this Syndrome. Turns out they have figured more stuff out about in the years since I was first diagnosed. So now I am taking some meds to try and get it under control. But the kicker is that if these do not work he says I will have to move to a chemo based therapy. Hmmmm... do not think that I want to go there. Not really sure why I am writing this other than I just needed to talk about it, anyway, anybody up to going out for some oysters and beer. Dude, My heart feels for you. I went through the same shit with my ex-wife who thought she would get better during our divorce. Three times that kind of shit happened, even when I called to have her removed from my friends where I was staying when I had the restraining order against her. Charges were always dropped by the state after an investigation. But still had go through the degradation of being treated like a piece of shit by the state. Just remember that the things you do in life are always paid back somehow, good & bad. You will get your good someday even if it is hard to see at this time. She will get hers, hopefully a triple serving. Stay solid and keep your head up...
