CX105, raynox hd3032 lens, hype-eye pro, a box and camera helmet of your choice and a REALLY good laptop (ie, 1500 usd and up) plus decent editing software, a fast cardreader and a big and fast external harddrive. All set. Although for tandems you'll likely want stills too, whole 'nother story. Or read a bit on here and get a clue as to what you might want ciel bleu, Saskia

I ordered it before they even had a CX105 to model the box after, march 5 I first asked about it, march 6 my order was confirmed for CX105 box and HC5 box both in a custom color of purple. Got both half April, not bad since the box had yet to be designed and we had to email a few times about the custom color and the shipping so all in all, pretty fast. Me happy

If by spacers you mean step rings, you cannot make the lens wider you can only make it more narrow. Plus have a care that using rings may cause vignetting, always check your footage on a PC not just on a TV as the PC will show much more of the image. ciel bleu, Saskia

Don't know about converter tools, never use them. Using any decent NLE software (Premiere elements, premiere pro, vegas, etc) and any non-protected DVD, you just copy the .vob file(s) to your harddrive, rename them to .mpg or .mpeg and import those into your editing software. Export to .wmv using whatever settings you prefer, voila. ciel bleu, Saskia

Just put my tonfly Cx105 box on my helmet, I only needed 3 pieces of foam and voila. See pics. Did 3 jumps with it so far, works like a charm. Don't see why you put half the sheet in ciel bleu, Saskia

Sony HDR-HC5 video to computer with usb?
dragon2 replied to pekkakurtz's topic in Photography and Video
Yes, or a firewire Expresscard if you have a newer laptop - be sure to check that before you buy if you're not sure you have PCMCIA. PCMCIA is sorta credit-card shaped but a PC Expresscard comes in 2 flavors: either slim (half a creditcard lengthwise) or a creditcard minus a square (in this slot the slim one will fit too). ciel bleu, Saskia -

For some reason there is tonight a 18 sec newsitem on Birdman in Spain on Dutch national news. A reaction to Valery's jump maybe, but makes no mention of it: "It's skydiving but slightly different: this technique is called Birdman. At a skydiving school in Spain they are quite busy doing it. Thanks to the special suit skydivers can fly much longer in freefall, up to 4 minutes. Landing however needs to be done with a regular parachute." O-kay Very national-news-worthy I'm sure And of course this is totally not-done here in The Netherlands - my dad called me about this news item, miffed for my sake Click item starts @ 5:39. ciel bleu, Saskia

Yup. Welcome to the wonderful world of video lenses . I ordered a raynox .5 for my hc5 to replace the hama .45 I used to jump, never did jump the .5 ordered a .3 straight away as that was closer to the hama + trv25/pc106/pc2. The hama BTW was a replacement for my first lens a sony .6 which was again wider than the hama .45 (on the same camera). Sigh. ciel bleu, Saskia

Looks like you put in way too much padding to me, the box should be able to close . I haven't done mine yet but for my porevious box I only needed 3 pieces of padding so I expect about the same here. ciel bleu, Saskia

Decent into a volcano - wingsuit video

It's in the dutch news too:click youtube ciel bleu, Saskia -
The first few years i didn't jump camera but I had a great deal of fun shooting landings, usually with a still camera but sometimes with video. Managed to get paid a few times to do ground video all day, kewl if you can't jump anyway due to lack of funds or whatever and a nice way to make a bit of a name for yourself should you want to video swoop competitions or canopy coach courses or something like that later on. Heck some of my video even made it onto the PD DVD

A big plus of a swift 5 cell is that it is CHEAP. Don't have any jumps on them myself, I prefer more modern designs, but there are still quite a few here in CRW rigs and the like. And a friend of mine, a fairly heavy guy, had a reserve ride last year on a swift 5cell, his camera sidemount bracket sheared off a few lines of the swift during opening but he liked the canopy so much he had it fixed!!! ciel bleu, Saskia

Here's one on climbout I also got a pic of a canopy that got torn on the tail of a 206 somewhere. Both cases of a pilotchute working it's way out in the door. ciel bleu, Saskia
-
Actually, yes. Because it's been proven to work if it had 1 or more rides and it's been seen a few times often by different riggers. All my 7 reserve rides have been on used reserves, except for one they were quite enjoyable and I promptly sold the one reserve I didn't like as much as the others I've jumped. Newer isn't always better, a proven design is a plus in my book and a proven canopy of a proven design I can get for cheaper than new, I do not say no to. ciel bleu, Saskia

how do I figure out if Im using 64 bit? It doesn't matter in this case as Vegas will run fine but you can check here: Computer icon on desktop > right click > properties (or Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System) System > System Type is what you're looking for, it either says 32bit Operating System or 64bit Operating system. ciel bleu, Saskia

So my laptop isn't running at it the moment? Works fine. Got both Vegas Pro 8 and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum on my Vista HP 64bit laptop. I'm sticking with Premiere Pro CS4 though. ciel bleu, Saskia
