Hi David, If you have a serial, might also help in case a similar suit is spotted. Ill try and see if I can trace that down through the factory for you otherwise. Should your suit not be found, shoot me an email at jarno@phoenix-fly.com and we'll make you a suit special big 'so sorry you lost your best friend' discount to replace her. I'd redefine it a bit more Small/beginner: armwing reaching to waist/hips Intermediate: armwing anywhere from airwing at hip area to lower leg Advanced/Large: armwing down to feet / legwing extending past Ive did the first 600 to 1000 jumps on Classic/Skyflyer1, 3, 3S. After that jumped a mixture of suits, but Id say out of the last 2000 or so wingsuit, still about half is in the PF Shadow. The flying technique is the same in any suit. And its a lot easier to master, feel and apply in a small one. The added hangtime gives people the idea of 'better flying' but in terms of mastering technique, inputs, angle and all-round control. The small suits are the way to go... Going from a small suit to a bigger one was never really a problem, due to technique/inputs having been sorted on around a 1000 small suit jumps first. Most of these cameras are only useable for the 360 viewing. If you look at the resolution of 1504 x 1504, then cropping the image down to a around 120 to max 180 degree view, you're basically watching an image somewhere in the 750 to 376 pixels wide only. Fun as a gimmick, but for this type of shooting to be remotely useful, you'd need a minimum resolution of 4K or more (seeing as the cropped end result will always be 1/3rd up to 1/4th of the resolution at best) It is an interesting technology, think for instance of having a single belly or helmet mounted camera on a wingsuit or freefly jump, but able to afterward choose back, side, bottom or front view depending on subject. But currently, stitched GoPro (or similar) rigs, provide a higher resolution plate. The results are fun to watch for sure. On http://www.wingsvr.com/#about you can also see an example. But again, outside of the 360 degree interactive viewing experience, for normal video, we are currently missing the resolution on this toy. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

At the $170.00 they sell these at, Im 100% sure you get something equally comfortable/usable at any motorcycle or skydiving store, for half, if not 1/4th the price. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Due to travels (Im currently in Australia coaching wingsuit flying) the website didn't reflect accurate lead times yet, but its now updated. 6 months is almost double from what the lead time has been last year, please send me a message at jarno@phoenix-fly.com so we can see where and by who/which dealer this order delay was caused. Due to the volume of orders PF processes can sometimes lead to times of up to 3 / 4 months (similar to ordering a rig or other skydiving gear), in the winter period we strive to get this down to 6-8 weeks, but its always depending on the release of new suits/models which may affect the volume of orders and thus waiting time. Ordering a Havok Carve now, you'll have it way before the season starts. Just order it direct with PF, and you'll have it in notime. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

More and more beginners put a lot of money into a lot of additional gear options, that (in the end) would benefit a lot more from just having more practice. Though some tools, googles etc can enhance the experience, for most people its not an essential learning tool, and sometimes can even be a distraction from actually learning to fly. To me, flying is having full control of your body in a winguit, at steep, shallow, flat angles. Flying it stable, on its side, on its back or whatever orientation. To some, the training/practice only focusses on the full flight (how far do I fly) while thats the one thing that comes almost automatic in terms of skills when you explore the full flight envelope of what wingsuit flying has to offer. The best thing to do, find a training partner, and on smaller dives, do dedicated work on 2 way drills (compared to other diciplines) learning about leveling, control, turns, approach etc. If you can do those small adjustments / find motor control things with someone during 80% flight, you can also do it while in full flight. Work on your skills in a methodical way, and goggle wise, a normal cheap ass goggle will do. Rig wise, almost any old or new rig works fine with a beginner / intermediate level suit. And flying wise, you dont need gizmo's to tell you how you're doing. Just enjoying yourself and having fun already gets you 90% of the way in most cases. Training JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

A4K (Almost4K) doesnt sound as cool, so they left out the A But then using Ultra4K to define a resolution lower than full 4K res is even weirder if you take the actual definition of Ultra being 'extreme/beyond'. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

squirrel swift or hatch for acro vs p3 shadow etc. advice
mccordia replied to fatso's topic in Wing Suit Flying
We're in the middle of testing at the moment, and results determine when its released. But December (first suits made January) is our aim. Leadtime for orders currently placed is around 8-9 weeks, though might increase a bit when the new suits are announced due to a rush in orders. So suits ordered now will be delivered around mid dec. For the new model, a bit more patience is needed. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Just go for a shadow New Phantom & Shadow coming soon a birdy told me.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
The connected front mostly creates one flat platform on the front/underside, from wingtip to wingtip. The loose fit seems to vary per suit, but is not related to creating a smoother bottom surface. What good an accidental inflating bottom/front or an inverted leading edge on the arm does aerodynamicly for improvements in flight Im not sure. We're trying to make the suit more slick/optimized, and thats the only reason its there, which contributes to the suit agility, which PF is known for. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Yes, though in a bit of a different setup compared to how it was on older suits. They are located slightly higher, and centered in the tail. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Ive never used snaps/magnets on any suit for canopy/landing. Also on the venom, never have issues letting it hang behind me. The snaps where only designed for walking. Under canopy, jusy let it hang. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

In terms of minimizing burble on both big and small suits, an arched, collapsed body position will always give cleaner openings, as well as assuring symmetry in deployments. Do make sure the body position is actually arched, as a lot (A LOT!) of people pull by dropping their knees down, essentially creating a de-arch wich disturbs airflow (bigger burble) and creates a more unstable deployment position. Especially on low experience ws pilots, full flight (inflated) pulls can cause scary twists and turns when they don't counter asymmetry in flight the proper way. So there Id always recommend a normal collapsed pull. For base, full flight pulls are for sure the thing to do, as a 100 ft more of less 'lost' on opening is not something you can permit there. But I have no issue going back and forth between different deployment methods, as essentially its the same thing, just more rushed/skipping a step (collapsing) when in base. Full flight pulls can be used on a skydive, but mandate that the person doing them does know what he's doing, otherwise its not the better of the two. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The crew who jumps Lightnings and do CRW and wingsuit often mix and match diciplines as well, and cant say that its always going of without a hitch....I think they are the only people I know with lineburns on wingsuits...but if someone wants to combine swooping, wingsuit, crw etc.... For sure, its not recommendable, and a good canopy like a storm (designed for both) would be the better option.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
-
I know several CRW / Wingsuit pilots, and they all jump Lightnings...aside from their shit landings, all of them seem to have clean openings and no issues whatsoever with the canopy when combined with a wingsuit. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Paralog - Iron Man competition, Oktober 21-24
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Oktober 21-24 we are organizing a wingsuit performance competition on Texel, Netherlands. Unlike the normal PPC competition, with 1 km competition altitude, this one will have double that. 4.5 KM exit (15.000 ft) and 4-2 km competition altitude. Work those muscles! We will be jumping all the regular 6 rounds for glide, time and speed, but the double duration inside the competition window will for sure make this a tough cookie. We will only have one 'open' category for the event, and a limitation of 16 slots (loads will only have 8 competition flyers, to limit time spent on extra jumpruns at 15.000 ft altitude) There will be big suit seminar and organized performance formation flying, as well a huge end of season party on the Saturday after of the event.
