  1. Are you mad because you were wrong and contradicted yourself? How's about this Prof... if you can, in one small part of your mind, think that anyone working on inspections and securing weaponry in Iraq thought that they'd be 100% safe... I MIGHT hear what you're trying to say. On the other hand, if you're trying to say that the people "securing" the weapons dump were civilians, how the hell were those explosives any safer with them there? If an armed group wanted to take them... they could have easily. In your definition, how does a team of civilians "secure" 380 tons of explosives? Count them and write it down? Get real. This is a manufactured "issue". You're buying what they're selling because it suits your Bush-hating. Oh, hello again!
  2. Oops. Well, most Americans probably don't know a lot about the queen. The rest of us could give a shit about her since she really doesn't have a whole hell of a lot to do with what goes on over there. So I'd be willing to bet that most people don't really have an opinion of her one way or another. Oh, hello again!
  3. I'm not sure what PJ's agenda is with Britain (you guys say he has one...) but some of the ASBO's listed are a bit silly and seem to infringe upon some basic rights. ANYWAY, I think it's fuckin hilarious that some of you Brits are all fired up about someone ridiculing your country and have told him to mind his own business. I guess we can expect you to not participate in any further US-based threads then, for fear of becoming hypocrites... right? Thought so. And as for article 19... so are you to tell me that I cannot run a website where I limit access to people that I want? Sounds like your reaching here. Oh, hello again!
  4. So now your post contradicts what you said a few posts up about the US instructing the UN to leave. Your new post says that the UN and Koffi ordered them to leave. They could have easily decided to stay to "secure" whatever important shit they were sitting on. I think they could've worked something out with the US to handover stuff like this. But I'm not surprised they took off... I'm sure they were scared for one, and two... it makes a political point to have these caches go unguarded and stolen, doesn't it? The UN says we don't want to invade... OH, you do? Well fuck you, we'll do what we can to hinder you since it'll make you look bad. Come on now, you're not being reasonable... again. Oh, hello again!
  5. Or is it INDIRECTLY attributable to the Coalition invasion and DIRECTLY attributable to the UN's departure? I'm curious as to how the UN had "secured" these explosives. Tag them and count them, then write it down and tell them, "hey, we'll be back to count these again so don't use them"??? Seriously do you think that the militants got together enough heavy duty trucks to haul off 380 tons of shit in however many days it took to the US to get there? Either way, the UN coulda easily said... "Hey, we're here securing stuff. Don't kill us. We'll meet you at the gate with the inventory lists." But they didn't... SURPRISE!!! Oh, hello again!
  6. If this guy is being proven to have lied already on so many smaller things, (vietnam, hunting, the Sox, etc.) I wonder how easy it'll be for him to lie about bigger things IF he becomes president. I wonder if all the crybabies who scream "BUSH LIED, BUSH LIED" (when there is no evidence of actual lies as much as there may be that mistakes were made) will go to screaming about how their man lied? You're trying to get a shitty liar elected. If he can't lie about sports scores properly, how are you such a sucker that you can't see he's lying about pretty much everything else? Oh, hello again!
  7. Nice try Bill. I've never said that Fox wasn't biased. I think it definitely leans towards the administration, but I don't see them deliberately putting out false news stories or dredging up old stories at "convenient" times. It's funny... both articles you posted basically attack Bill O'Reilly, who anyone with a brain knows is a conservative. The Factor is an opinion based show, much like Larry King and Crossfire. Do you bitch about those shows, or does common sense tell you that they're opinion shows and everyone knows it? Come on... you think Fox is all lies because of the O'Reilly Factor... while you choose to listen (more often) to the "unbiased" CBS, NYT, and LAT reports? Get real, man. Oh, hello again!
  8. A general comment here... Most people can clearly see that CBS has a political bone to pick. AT LEAST they can see that 60 minutes is about as anti-Bush as it gets for news media. Some people, on this board even, still accept what CBS pipes into their skulls and think Rather is a great journalist. What I DON'T get is how they can point a finger at FOX and even TRY to put them on the same level as what CBS is doing. I haven't seen ONE story on Fox that was as outrageously fabricated or re-animated specifically for election swaying purposes. Fox does side with the administration a lot, but they often have people of dissenting opinions come on and debate. ANYWAY, how can you honestly believe all the bullshit coming from places like CBS, then turn around and not believe anything that Fox runs with? The left, and Kerry, have a silly habit of attacking with headlines before learning what is going on behind them. When Fox throws out an "october surprise" it'll be just as silly, but I'll bet it isn't as blatantly false or out of date. Oh, hello again!
  9. While this is obviously anti-kerry, you have to look at who it is coming from. The former POWs themselves seem angry about the movement that kerry devoted so much time (publicity) to when he was safely back at home. Since you think that the kerry stuff was just tacked on at the beginning and end... what did you think about the former POWs describing how the VVAW statements, including kerry's testimony was played for them on tape and used as yet another excuse to beat them into confessing? These guys have every single right to hate everything that kerry is. Oh, hello again!
  10. Well since I haven't made any comments like that, I haven't implied anything about the intelligence of the voting communities on either side. Don't use my name in that argument. Just to be nitpicky then, I think Val said something to the effect that 50% of people are at or below "average" intelligence. Actually, only 50% would be below the MEDIAN intelligence level. Extremely high and extremely low intelligence levels will skew the average. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if way more than 50% of the population is below "average" intelligence. ... that's why so many people support Kerry. Now you can yell at me... Oh, hello again!
  11. Nice. Once he corrects himself, maybe we can get the Professor here to tell us how to properly punctuate a sentence. I mean... since you're so intelligent and all... Oh, hello again!
  12. It's worth a watch. Hey, if I can sneak into f911 to see what that chump had to say about Bush, some of you can download Stolen Honor to see what respectable, honorable veterans have to say about the man you want to be president. At the very least, it's a good insight into what some of you pass off as being a minor blip on Kerry's past since it was 30 years ago. Oh, hello again!
  13. Just to follow up about Rock the Vote... Just saw part of a RTV special as I was getting ready this morning, and they were talking about minimum jail time requirements for drug offenses. Basically they showed "good" kids who got caught selling enough drugs to keep them locked up for 5-10 years, and saying how this wasn't really fair and wasn't right. They then went on to say that Bush is a strong supporter of minimum sentence requirements, but Kerry wants to re-evaluate them. Now it's not too hard to believe that they'd push young voters one way or another in their "voter registration" drive... is it?? Oh, hello again!
  14. So, no more making fun of the "Mission Accomplished" banner, right? We explained to you that the banner meant exactly what you just said and there was weeks worth of back and forth about it. Glad that's settled. Just as a general note when you guys are trying to use Vietnam as a debate point.... We did have international support in no insignificant numbers. Don't think anyone contributed? Just ask the Koreans, the Australians, the Canadians... just to name a few... oh, and definitely don't forget the people of South Vietnam, the Montagnards, and other indigenous people that were fighting and dying just like the US soldiers. Also, try not to be so arrogant as to say that Vietnam wasn't a winnable war, if you'd have had a good look at the Viet Cong forces after Tet, you wouldn't have thought that. Many of the people in the south and many Americans that served there KNEW we could win and were enraged that they weren't being allowed to do it. Blame whoever you want for that, but don't use Vietnam as an example of an unwinnable war when *surprise* people with way more experience and knowledge about the situation will quickly disagree with you. Oh, hello again!
  15. That's not 100% true, Bill and you know it. The dems have made the draft an issue, maybe unofficially, but they've made it an issue. Shit, it was an issue on THIS BOARD. Go back and read that. Don't tell me the draft wasn't brought into the public eye to inform and educate voters... it was a scare tactic used to get Kerry votes. Oh, hello again!
  16. That's pretty true with many politicians. A lot of times their campaign legislation gets ix-nayed by people who oppose them in the senate or house... or it gets so watered down that it isn't the same thing as intended. My view is that at least with Bush, we have a chance on getting our SS funds in our own control. So Bush listened to Democrats on some of his education bills? Good for him! I hope he'd consider all sides before making a decision. Also, the hotcake of "No Child Left Behind" is a good idea. I know a few teachers that HATE how their districts are implementing the policy, but they feel that the concept and idea is important. They also mentioned that it has made it easier for them to get funding from the city and state. As for the UN thing, we'll save that for another thread. Just as you feel that I won't get what I expect from Bush, I think I would get exactly what I expect from Kerry... a complete non-presidency that will do more long term harm than good. That's why my vote stays with my homie, GWB. Oh, hello again!
  17. Don't worry, apparently they're still running a report that will make Kerry look bad. You can still complain. Oh, hello again!
  18. Here's an idea. I'm sure it will upset some of the Kerry supporters (or should I just say, Anti-Bush people?) because it actually makes them look at the candidates' ideas instead of the BS rhetoric being thrown around from both sides. I will vote for Bush. Not because I am afraid that we'll get attacked again... we probably will no matter who's running the show. Not because I am a rich, white male... because I'm not rich. Not because I am on the inside of a vast corporation that people think is running the government decisions... because I'm not, and nothing would change if that were true and Kerry was president. I'm voting for Bush because I agree with many of his ideas on how this country should be run. I think I can do a better job investing my social security on my own. I think that we don't need our hands tied by the UN when we decide (with congressional approval) that we need to act. I think that making America strong economically DOES stem from better educating our youth. These are just some of the issues I agree with, and I think Bush has a better idea to make them happen. How about that... maybe... JUST MAYBE... some people think AND support Bush. It's not all about fear-mongering... which is done on both sides. Oh, hello again!
  19. But you're fine with people voting who have been completely misinformed, as long as they're voting for your guy, right? Honestly, in a lot of peoples' opinions... that is exactly what most of these "vote or die" campaigns are... giving you a registration card, telling you Kerry won't get you killed and sending your misinformed ass out to vote. People should register to vote, then fulfill their duty to learn enough to form their own opinion. And for Quade, in the civilized world (Texas) we can register to vote at the DMV when we get our license. I also remember getting a registration card with my selective services packet. There's plenty of "neutral" places to register that have access to WAY more people than an rock concert. Oh, hello again!
  20. So, after you're done with your self-indulgent self-righteous chortling at my comment... tell me that you think that people should register to vote solely for the reason that MTV or the GOP tells you to, and not because it's your right, YOUR DUTY, as an American to do so. I know I registered to vote when I turned 18 because I wanted to have a say... not to vote for or against Dole or Clinton. Get over yourselves, registering to vote shouldn't have anything to do with how you or other people are planning to vote. Oh, hello again!
  21. And the last one that came up only got 2 votes. BIG issue. Evidently, it wasn't true... remember the vote and positions we've seen since? Non-issue. And I've seen them now that (as you say) we know both candidates' position on it. So is it still an issue? Really? Seems like IF it passed, it'd get vetoed no matter what. So why continue to make it an issue?? To push an agenda based on lies??? Noooo... not the libs!! Not as big a conspiracy as the evil conservative/oil/iraq deal. But seriously, MTV has picked sides, can't you see that? Oh, hello again!
  22. Registering to vote shouldn't be a political thing. So you're telling me that getting people to register, then swaying their view with misinformation is okay? "REGISTER TO VOTE (for Kerry) IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET DRAFTED!!" I'm glad you're okay with that logic. Oh, hello again!
  23. BRILLIANT!!! I forgot all about that! Oh, hello again!
  24. Here... one more time.... IF BOTH CANDIDATES OPPOSE THE DRAFT, why should anyone be making it an issue? Sounds like unless you're lobbying FOR the draft... there's no argument here. Oh, hello again!
  25. Yeah, so? I never said I thought that was a good thing. Back to the subject.... Oh, hello again!
