WHO? WHO? lol.....2 brother in-laws fly for commercial airlines....does that count? Oh and the student that I'm tutoring......is that to the 2nd degree? Cheers. It only takes a little pixie dust......
  4. RB~ I should have clarified. I am aware that the "same" kind of accidents in skydiving have led to fatalities; it just appeared to be quite a few in such a short period of time rather like the rule of threes. I am also aware of the fact that there are series of events that lead up to each occurance. I was just wondering about the time frame and should have stated so. Thanks! 5. Tree hugger with listening skills? Sebazz are you sure you're not from Oregon? LOL It only takes a little pixie dust......
  6. Ouch! :P~~~~~~~~~~~~` It only takes a little pixie dust......
  7. Diver~ I find it interesting to note as well, that there seems to be a series of incidences both in aircraft and in skydiving fatalities. Do these tend to occur in such a way, or is this an anomolie? B It only takes a little pixie dust......
  8. Yesterday, I managed to get 3 jumps in and each time on the aircraft I was seated next to the same AFF student (I know what are the chances right?). I always try to say something really encouraging to students becuase I feel it important that they know we are in their corner and wanting them to succeed. I remember how insignificant I felt as a student when in an aircraft with a troop of seasond jumpers. At the end of the day, the student came up to me and said two things! "That last exit you did was phenomenal!" and "Thank you for your encouragement, it helped me to relax alot". I smiled, told her that she was welcome and that I had so much to learn, and someday I hoped to be as good as her instructor. That said, which do you suppose made me feel better......the praise or the thank-you? It only takes a little pixie dust......
  9. Ok I'm going to say this.......if you have 200 jumps and a "C" license.......trust me you are not an expert. If you have 300 jumps and a "D" license......I promise you are NOT a master skydiver. All those say is that you have aquired a few skills and have good r. memory. Truth of the matter is alot of folks are spewing stuff that they don't know s*%$ about. At best they know Jack s*%$. I've read many posts here, and truly I have learned a great deal and value many of the opinions. When people such as billv, diverdriver, hooknswoop & quade post.....I'm going to pay attention because I know that they have the experience to back up what they are saying. I respect their knowledge, and can only hope one day know 1/4 of what they do. So if you are out there with a couple of hundred jumps.....perhaps tempering the ego is warranted, a little patience practiced, so that truly you can become the best that you can be......There are lots of times I suck too@quade....it's called a reality check! Cheers! B It only takes a little pixie dust......
  10. Couldn't have said it any better than that! Don't do it! Doooooon't do it! LOL It only takes a little pixie dust......
  11. Okay everyone......each is entitled to their own opinion, this IS NOT however a democracy to quote HH. If you you have opinions about people or places that are negative that's your perfect right. But perhaps it would be best to keep it private. I just want to to throw this out there......sometimes the guy that you think will kick you when you're down, is the one that offers you his hand when you need a lift up. Cheers! 12. Dang sounds like I missed something.........hate when that happens. It only takes a little pixie dust......
  13. Funny ad......but that makes 2 within 2 months guys....and they are perpetuating the sport that we love! I say let em spend all that money cause sure enough people are going to see the ad and think hey that looks like fun, maybe I'll try! Cheers It only takes a little pixie dust......

  15. 100 jumps to 5000 jumps........there is still something more to learn. It isn't so much the number of jumps but rather the quality and lessons learned in those jumps. Cheers! B It only takes a little pixie dust......
  16. Medic~ We can share war stories......I go in on Tuesday to see if I'm in the clear. Wishing you well! BB It only takes a little pixie dust......
  17. Okay......do you measure age in life experiences or how many birthdays one has celebrated? "Dear God ,my mind tells me I am so much younger than that!" Woman's day magazine says I CAN date younger men but only if I take my own age and subtract 7.......wonder where in Sam's hell thay came up with that figure? It only takes a little pixie dust......
  18. Restricted Crew quarters on a cruise ship........Oh babay sneaking down there was part of the fun! LMAO It only takes a little pixie dust......
  19. I had a reserve ride on jump 23. The DZO caught the freebag in his feet on the way down, the main is still in a tree and no great loss. I saw a guy whose main tore apart on a jump and his reserve didn't look too flyable to me. I couldn't get out to land next to him, but I sure made sure that I knew where he was, and sent someone after him. It is imperitive that we look after each other. At one DZ I landed out and I mean way out! Had to hike it back in the hot sun dressed all in black for what seemed to be 5 friggen miles. (It wasn't of course) Fortunetly, I was jumping with someone that was looking out for me, because when the van arrived, the driver said....."Oh we knew you were out here, I just got busy and forgot to come and get you." I won't expound any further than that. It only takes a little pixie dust......

The Dark Shadow, Green Hornet (Side kick Kato), Incrediable Hulk, Atom Ant (not sure if that one was a comic), Mighty Mouse, Ghost Rider, Jonny Quest (not much of a super hero), Fantastic Four. It only takes a little pixie dust......

If you don't cancel 15 minutes before the tram leaves.....TS! That's a jump ticket regardless if you actually board the plane, jump out of it, or ride up and down. I've never heard of anything other than that, keeping in mind that NR slots don't count. It only takes a little pixie dust......

  25. It certainly happens to everybody. One day when there wasn't a manifestor at a DZ that I was jumping at,(No calls over PA I mean) I nearly missed my plane, so I threw my gear on, and got a safety check from a skydiver with 3,000 jumps who is aso a rigger. He said OK your'e good to go, so off I went. As it was really cold, cieling was low etc. we were to jump at 3,500 from a 182. The gal accross from me pointed out that my harness was twisted. Should I have needed to deploy my reserve.......anyway it really does pay to be aware and not hurry. The price of a lost jump is nothing. There were two very important lessons learned that day.
