Have You Ever Fudged YOUR Jump Numbers?
bbarnhouse replied to katiebear21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well Chuck according to your profile you "train students in every discipline with hard-earned credibility and authority...so what the hell do I know? Sometimes people just need to look at themselves in the mirror as they are casting stones...don't ya think? If people think others are padding their jump numbers ..hell take it up with them personally. I would think that some people have enough drama in their lives without adding to it. Yes as do I and yes it IS sad. Maybe we should call all these people out...where shall I start? Bwahhhhh -
Have You Ever Fudged YOUR Jump Numbers?
bbarnhouse replied to katiebear21's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Some people just stop logging them on here. I know I haven't updated mine for a couple of years and I suppose this holds true for others. Although jump numbers can show "an" experience level what matters is ability in the sky. If someone has padded the numbers its gonna show. I recall when an indiviual had about the same number as I have posted now and the next thing ya know there were 1,000+ more.... but in the end it makes zero difference to me. No one is the complete authority in every discipline. I am not a skilled FS flier and I admit it, I am not a skilled swooper and I admit that too, but there are few that are out doing the kind of flying that I do. All in all with the greater issues in the world we live in, jump numbers are the least of my concerns. -

No I am leaving that up to ya'll -
Interesting...We all started in the very same place. No jumps to 1 jump. I am excited for every individual that decides to take part. It is by their enthusiasm that I am constantly reminded why I started in the first place.

Swoop pond...nope it isnt any larger. It does get used but generally only by the brave Just an FYI on the history of the ponds. The ponds were actually designed by Burke. I think as more of a deterrent than anything. At best, the ponds should have been much deeper and the input from the swoopers ...well let's say it went differently than they had wanted. In the heat of the summer a handful of us spent several weeks out there digging with shovels and moving dirt with the tractor. It was hard work with many a blister earned. I don't use the ponds, but when I look at them I am reminded that it took the people who really wanted them to make it become a reality. We left a bit of ourselves out there... a small piece of the history of this place. If one looks at the design of the ponds from under canopy, it might become clear that the shape is a familiar logo in these parts. -

Yes we do have an L-39. I can't say that it will be flying but if so its a $750.00 donation -
Funny that there is no mention that the City asked Larry Hill to come to Eloy as a TTF in exchange for economic development, which it has done. No mention of the contract nor lease with Skydive Arizona which has been breached by the City of Eloy. Interesting that Larry Hill offered to donate 10 acres of land to the city for expansion of the airport and the City manager refused. This dontation would have covered the cost of the grant. No mention that the contract and lease were in place prior to the grant. The things that make you go...hummmm. The grant assurances regarding TTFs are to keep TTFs from competing and hurting the city. There isn't another skydiving operation in Eloy. Skydive Arizona only uses the taxi and runway...nothing else. The Mayor states that if Skydive leaves, it would only effect a small portion of the business surrounding the airport. Am I missing something here? What will happen to the local economy when Skydive Arizona leaves? As to the Mayor and HIS airport...excuse me? The airport belongs to the tax payers...doesn't it? If one looks at the budget for the airport it doesn't jive. $60,000 spent on maintenance? WHERE AND WHEN? I've seen the "weed pullers" maybe 3 times in the last year. If that's what they are getting for salary then I want that job! Additionally 60k? We use to do it for the city for $150 a month! Well folks, its an ongoing battle and as they say...it ain't over til the fat lady sings...I just ain't that fat Keep your eyes peeled in the letter to the editor section, and I wouldn't be surprised if the mayor whistles a new tune before long Fat lady indeed.

With relish or what exactly? Sorry about the furnace. The mornings are a bit cold but the days are still nice. I can only hope that we have as nice weather for Holiday as we did last year. 2 years ago it was nasty cold.
