I agree with the tailbone issue. Glad to know those on the other side of the continent know the same slide. You still must flare which was a difficult skill to master for some of us. If you can flare just go ahead and stand it up as Danny Page always told me....yeah right!
-
Sorry Sis, but I have to agree with Pyke and Medic. We are so JEALOUS is wish I could type in green.....

Way to go passing level 8 and getting off 'dent status. Trust me they would not let you off if they thought you couldn't handle it. Go out diving and just flop around, get stable and do barrel rolls and flips, and just look around (don't forget to look at your altitude). Don't even try and plan anything just go see what you have missed the past few jumps. The beautiful Earth is still down there winking at you so find something besides a JM to look at. Enjoy the wind on your face rather than a JM in your face. Relax and remember why you started jumping. You'll do great and have a wonderful time.

some guys have it and some don't ...let's leave it at that ok??
-
Would it be worth the time and effort it takes? If so, go for it. If not go drink a beer with us in Skydive Atl next weekend and celebrate my 200 with me.
-
Congrats Michele....you ROCK chick. Albi was to give you a big hug from me which I think he accomplished. I am so very proud of you.
-
I pulled up Skydive Atlanta...don't think it was there then as I don't see the hanger or anything. Neat site to look at however....thanks for sharing.

Clay...you are right we did jump now that I think about it. That is why you looked so familiar and I didn't put you together with DZ.com until you told me your name. Please join us anyway. We are ALL learning except Doug and heck he wears 16 pounds of weights. If we can keep up with JT we can hang on to you. I'm even learning to arch to try and pull the entire formation down for a low diver. NO EXCUSE...you must jump with us next weekend. My bad on the Double Falcon it is just a Falcon, but take it any way you can get it. Sorry about that....minor brain lock.

No problem Monk, I guess all those American women that you hate will just have to look elsewhere... Maybe the UK??? Or the rest of the US??? Now we know where/how you got your name.

Man you are good at deductive reasoning. My weekend 10:10:1 The beer is owed because I choose asphalt over grass which is a beerable offense. The good thing is I had 2-2ways, 1-3 way, 1-5 way, 3-6 ways, 2-8 ways, and 1-10 way. A couple of these were with JTVAL and I actually stayed with him. BTW JT....you got a 5 pt 6 way (Double Falcon) if you need it for awards!! Made for a fun weekend jumping. I also got to formally meet Clay Fowler so now all I have to do is jump with him. DZ.com people are so neat!! Now if we can just get our Super Otter back from Sebastian by next weekend and I can have such good numbers... I'll be a happy woman once again!!

I am so sorry to hear that. Good luck looking again. Let us know if we can help.

I'm with Shark in that I jump a Spectre. I was doing realy tight pack jobs but with nothing rolled which would take from 800-1200 to open. I've started pulling out the nose and not even trying to make the pack tight and have it to 500-900. All this said...anything below 2000 I would go but it would be on silver with both hands. I wouldn't mind going out at 1000 if there was an emergency but I don't think I would do it by choice. 2,500 would be my lowest choice.

From one Lisa to another.....YOU ROCK girl. I'm with Zennie in that we were glad to get those sheets and jump out of trees. By the time we hit 10 years we will need automatic landing devices so PLF, Zennie and I can land without breaking a bone!!! PLF...please don't break anything before it is developed.

It is a good feeling when you earn an award, but also a good feeling for those who jump with you. I was like a kid when we pulled an 8 pt 8 way today for two younger jumpers. I ran around and got the paperwork filled out for them and everything I was so excited for them. CONGRATS...you rock! BTW......beer!!!!!
-
Life is good.....I can't wait to get there and jump, jump, jump. I'm packed already!!!!

Welcome to our small patch of Earth. We are all crazy (about SKYDIVING) so don't listen to any of them....they are crazy! also, don't worry about any of us getting hurt since Skymedic will patch us up...won't you??
-
Hey Michele...one of my instructors did that to me and he jumped it and is still living. What I didn't realize at the time is while I was packing it and pulling at it and literally shoving it in the bag he watched everything I did and he knew it would open ok. Ed will be fine, you will see. Soon you'll be a packing pro and laugh at being so uptight about this. Just remember a parachute is designed to want to open.

Glad to know it isn't just me!!!

Slave Drivers....just like a bunch of bossy men to pull rank and start ordering everyone around....ok, ok, I'll do it just not tonight.

I've jumped there once and had an ok time. 1. they took my credit card and kept it 2. landing area was small with few outs 3. we jumped with Mr. Pink so we knew who we were jumping with thus no problem with who to jump with 4. I saw lots of tandums but few AFF....we got bumped for a tandum once Everything you have already heard. I have also jumped at Monroe. The people were nice enough, the plane ok (it was a king air), and the landing was fair. There were some outs. You land right next to the taxiway. I personally like Skydive Atlanta. We have a Super Otter, great large landing areas with lots of outs, a large hanger for packing, and wonderful instructors. There is a new student area that was just finished last week (haven't seen it but it should be nice...with AC!) Everyone is friendly and helpful to jumpers of all disciplines and experience levels. Actually if you want to really try to get it done all this weekend why don't you call Trey or Jen 1-800-276-DIVE and honestly ask their opinion. We are going to have a group there Friday so you may even get to pull off a jump or two then hopefully from the Otter not a Cessna. Whatever you choose good luck...hope to see you at SD ATL if that is your choice. Look me up. Lisa

At Skydive Atlanta we have several RV's that are there every weekend and people often pitch tents out behind the parking area. Some of us crash in the hanger on the carpet or in the office when the weather is extreme. They are completing a new loft bunkhouse that will be a great asset and we have shower facilities in the hanger. Granted if you sleep in the hanger you will get very little sleep but the atmosphere is great. I have heard of no problems. The airport authority seems to be quite cooperative with our DZO's since skydivers generate a lot of traffic to the area.

Yes, Dave...how did you know about the cold front that moved through???

My youngest child's favorite... If you are American outside the bathroom what are you inside the bathroom? European (you're a peein')

I'm with Pammi....in GA we have 98 in the shade, humidity, and below the fault line we have GNATS. I'm thankful the DZ is above the line so there aren't any there.

You are about to make the purchase of a lifetime since your gear can save your life. Both my rigs came from classified ads on DZ.com. Like mentioned before my DZO acted as a middleman for each purchase, and everything went great with the transactions. I would suggest that you look around at your DZ and get an idea of what it is you want before you start looking because that will just confuse you totally. I knew I wanted a small Mirage when looking for my second rig and so I didn't look for anything else. That narrowed my search greatly. I also know what a fairly new Mirage sells for so I knew about what I was going to have to pay to get what I wanted. The only bad experience was when I tried to sell an old main to a guy in Canada. He wanted me to send the main directly to him without anyone acting as middleman. Beware of anything like that. I could have been out the main and the money....not a good place to be. Good Luck....
