Excellent point, but you're arguing with people that would probably rather see a business fail, than life not being perfectly fair for everybody.

The threat will always be there, but blanket lawsuits are bullshit. There needs to be a determination of the accident before you can just throw a lawsuit out to everyone that even looked at the jet. My company still had to pay to defend themselves for over 4 years over what is a frivolous lawsuit. We never touched anything on that jet that could have been related to that crash in anyone's wildest imagination. That is not the way to go about keeping people honest. That's what allows people to be dishonest and take advantage of businesses. No company has a bottomless bank account (ok maybe microsoft) especially in aviation. They operate off a very narrow profit margin and often suffer from several bankruptcies and reformations throughout time just to continue production. These type lawsuits do not help the economy or the safety of aviation period.

I can't honestly understand how this would make any sense unless your referring to discriminating based on qualifications, ie your ugly model example. It may also be true we run across your make believe gas station example where all the customers are bigots, but I don't think there are too many successful businesses where this is going to be an issue.

I didn't realize your circumstances of being overseas. But there are several G3's at our dropzone too, all with the SB done, and I haven't seen any that don't look right when packed right. I'm not a rigger, but the packing procedure may be just a little different than most riggers are use to. I've talked to the rigger that does our mirages and he says it's all about bulk distribution, and if I recall correctly, how the pilot chute is angled.
-
There you go, you said it, the company's only hurting itself. So it's obviously not in the best interest of a company to discriminate. But you try to place all these anti-discrimination laws(which are exactly the opposite of what they are called) then the government is responsible for hurting the company
-
Maybe the government should make anti-discrimination laws for ugly people so they can be models I think you completely missed the point. I think Baconstrip is trying to say that if a business does not hire the most productive and qualified person because of discriminitory reasons than they are going to suffer the financial consequences because of producion. Leave the FREE market alone, the more stupid rules you put on it like this only F#$% it up. Is this a joke?

My reserve flap sits fine. There are several jumpers at my dz that have had the service bulletin done and it doesn't change anything. The reserve flap sits perfectly flush. If the mirage's instructions are followed on how to pack the reserve it will look fine. A lot of riggers don't read the instructions before packing them. (not sure if this is your scenario) Anyway I never communicated with mirage thru email, I just called them and they were great. Give them a call instead.

None, I just thought it was kinda funny

Except there is some actual truth to channman's comments.

So it took six years to finally get dismissed from this stupid lawsuit. I bet that wasn't cheap. The plaintiff should have to pick up this tab. Maybe that will make people think twice before trying to sock some company for $200 million.

This was a ridiculous lawsuit from the beginning, like almost every lawsuit involving an aircraft manufacturer. I've been a mechanic on this type of learjet for 3 years. They are old. The item mentioned has supposed to have been functionally tested and inspected about 15 times since its manufacture. I don't care how well you manufacture something, these jets don't last forever without proper maintenence. Why did the family focus their lawsuit on the manufacturer and not the company responsible for the maintenance? Because learjet has lots of money. The company I work for was involved in this lawsuit as well. I'm not sure how much many we spent defending ourselves, but the only component we touched (autopilot), was the one thing that worked perfectly until the jet crashed. Yet we have to spend God knows how much money to defend this ridiculous lawsuit. I hate to say it but you do have to take care of an aircraft. You can't just blame it on the manufacturer when something goes wrong. This absolutely pisses me off. F*^%ing losers. These lawsuits in no way benefit aviation, they drive prices up outrageously, and could put a great company like Bombardier(or mine) out of business.

Muslims Murder Muslims, Blame Christian Icon
diverborg replied to Sen.Blutarsky's topic in Speakers Corner
I would agree with that, but to some muslims (ie the ones that started the riot) these would be one in the same. I think this is the point he was making. -
I just had to make this thread because I feel like I owe it to Mirage. If you are considering a new rig, PLEASE READ THIS. First of all a couple months ago, I just placed an order for a brand new G4, I was told it would take the standard six to eight weeks which is normal for any rig, but to my surprise it came in about three weeks, pretty impressive. The rig was beautiful and flawless. After jumping it for a little bit, I discovered the leg straps didn't quite fit me like they did for my friends that had a G4. I took a couple pictures and the designer knew exactly what to do to fix it, seems my hip structure is a little different. I sent it back to Mirage, they modified it for FREE, and had it in the mail in two working days. Then on a single day's notice, my friends called me up and wanted to go to a memorial day weekend boogie. I called mirage the night before, when they were pretty much closed, asked if they could contact FEDEX and have the package upgraded to receive it the next day. They went way out of there way, even after their office had closed to make sure FEDEX got it to me by the next day. I got the rig, made the boogie and had a blast. The rig fits GREAT, and is very comfortable. THANK YOU MIRAGE. Great product, great customer service, and great price. Sincerely Jeff

I guess the US would be a better place if we just legalized all drugs. Oh wait, then we'd have even more homeless people whose lifes have been destroyed by drugs. Then the liberals would still whine that there isn't enough welfare for them, and that it's right wingers that are responsible for our homeless population because corporate America is holding them down.

In the News: Brutal Deaths of Iraqii Civilians

The world would be a better place if we all made judgements based on information we receive in chainmail letters. -
Now that's funny, potheads thinking there the victim of the conservatives. What a shock. (not assuming you guys smoke pot). I have friends that have been caught with pot more than once and have spent at the most that night in jail, and they were driving their car while stoned.

finding a pc109, thats NOT GRAY MARKET
diverborg replied to diverborg's topic in Photography and Video
I tried all the electronic stores in my area, and asked if they had any left, but I usually got helped by some high school kid that didn't even know what a pc109 was. I'm not in a big hurry, so I'll check around a little bit. THanks for the info -
Haha, Frenchy made a funny.

finding a pc109, thats NOT GRAY MARKET
diverborg replied to diverborg's topic in Photography and Video
Right on, bhphotovideo it is. That's what really worries me about ibuydigital is the damn Brooklyn address. I feel sorry for the guys if they just tried to set up an honest business in Brooklyn, but this is the capitol of these digital scams. -

diverborg replied to diverborg's topic in Photography and Video
Thank you everybody for the info, that helps. I've heard others talk good about ibuydigital, I must of just read some bad posts on the internet. A lot of the forums I researched said they carried gray market. What really concerns me is their address in Brooklyn is that same as a couple other companies that I know are gray market operations. Maybe i'll give 'em a try, but it eems like this bhpotovideo has similar prices and a very good reputation after further research. I'll probably use them. -

Thanks man. I was looking at their website, and I wasn't sure about them. I've read some mixed reviews, but if I was to try any store this would be the one. It helps to know you were able to find a regular camera here and have bought from them before. I'll be placing my order. -
finding a pc109, thats NOT GRAY MARKET
diverborg replied to diverborg's topic in Photography and Video
Gray market cameras won't come with a warranty, also licensed sony dealers may not even repair them. It's not really that the gray market camera itself is that bad, but I've had friends purchase from these guys and most of the gray market dealers are scam artists. Also they don't always have all the accessories and they won't tell you that, plus often the batteries are different and won't last but 20 minutes. -
finding a pc109, thats NOT GRAY MARKET
diverborg replied to diverborg's topic in Photography and Video
I need help. I've been trying to find any place that still has the pc109 or 105 in stock for a reasonable price. I've checked out dozens of websites (ie ibuydigital, digitalliquidators, buydig, etc) that have been reccommended to me by several people. These vendors are extremely decieving and will not admit that their product is gray market. After researching every site, it always leads to the same conclusion, GRAY MARKET. Does anybody know of a reliable retailer that absolutely does not sell gray market equipment that still carries these products. Please let me know. -
Do you think this is really because of lack of teaching sexualtiy or other factors. I would say our openmindedness and education on this topic are higher than they've ever been. Yet, teen pregnancies sure aren't less than they were when this talk was taboo. Hell, I remember learning about penises and vaginas and babies in the 5th grade. Is this really necessary?
