go the the pro swoop tour website.. there are dimensions on there for the courses. the longest part doesnt really need to be more than approx 300 feet. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

there are a few more out there.. the nitro/ blade, Katana, (the velocity is crossbraced), but the vengance isnt... I would demo a few to see what you like... of course my opinion is the crossfire 2... dives very long, and is an all around sweet canopy...especially if you like soft sweet snivelly openings.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

well I did a base jump with my crossfire 2 111... Not sure what to classify it as though... it wasnt Earth... or a Building... or and antena.... I guess you would call a picnic table a span, right...? I definately suggest a large pilot chute, because with my regular pilot chute- it just barely inflated before I impacted the bean bags on the floor... I have always had a good relationship with icarus and never a really hard time getting ahold of anyone. like previously said, everyone will have different experiences. I am sure with any company out there people have had bad experiences with them and others have had great experiences. I am definately an icarus person, but if there is a great deal on something else Ill take a look at it. the only suggestions I would have are the same that have already been put out there. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

actually I start in deep brakes, go to double fronts. let one side up for heading, then go back to double fronts if neccesary for altitude.... lets me start my urn a bit higher and build the speed a little slower... just my 2 ones _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I was talking to a friend yesterday and this topic kind of came up. She asked me how my wife reacted when I told her what had happened and when she saw me and when she saw the video taken of the accident. Many people think that my wife would say I am not allowed to skydive anymore... this I dont really get. People get in bicycle accidents, car accidents, football accidents, tennis accidents, all kinds of things and you rarely hear of someone who just fell of thier bicycle nevery wanting to try to ride it again or to be told by someone to never ride it again. They usually learn from it and try to be more cautious in similar situations from then on out. Our sport is extreme, but the common injuries that we encounter are as little if not less than a basketball player twisting his or her ankle. All I am getting at is we should not have the mentality that once something happens to us in this sport to quit. We are all in this sport for various reasons, but we all have an amazing attachment to the sport and those who participate in it with us. Lets not take that for granted.... It took me one week to feel physically ready to make another jump. While that was amazingly quick considering my incident, I was ready even faster in my mind. Dont get me wrong, I was cheking my gear about 100 times before I got in the plane and had a couple people check out my gear before exiting, but I was ready to jump. just thought I would throw in my thoughts.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

just waned to say hey and that I am doing well. I am planning to try to make a few jumps tomarrow. I am amazed at how quickly I am feeling better, but the mental part of it will be the worst. I posted a few pics from the accident in the incedents forum for those who were interested. I know a few of you had asked to see some pics... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I am a tandem I at spaceland, and while I cant comment on SDH due to never jumping there I can say that spaceland is a great place to learn. I STP (student training progression/program) is a great way to learn how to skydive..the aff instructors are very knowledgeable and easy to get along with... the atmosphere is light and there a several disciplines people can introduce you to at the DZ... there is an ENORMOUSE amount of talent and experience in freefly (with spaceland anomally) and belly (deguello sp?) located at the DZ, which, from what I have seen if you ask they will take you up. being (probably) the largest dropzone in Texas, I would definately reccomend Spaceland... and if you want to do a tandem or know someone who does I will gladly take you up! _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I just love skydiving too much to keep it to myself.. I love teaching and I cant say it makes me feel bad getting paid for it... if you love your job you will never work a day in your life.. since I "cut away" from the "real job" 4 months ago I have done several tandems and I feel like I am on a permenant vacation... sure, I dont make all that much money, but I am making enough to get by...and how many people can say they play video games and jump out of planes for a living... I for one CAN say that, and I love to be able to say it... now dont get me wrong..having a cute passenger dosent piss me off, but Ill take anyone willing to go have the time of thier life (given they are under 300 lbs) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

Have you ever flow your canopy backwards?
Yoshi replied to genoyamamoto's topic in Canopy Relative Work
I have seen a few people hook up thier canopies backwards and land them... even a crossfire 139 loaded at 1.4.... pretty wild... I have done a few crew jumps and on a startack (sp?) and cruiselite I was able to fly them backwards.. as previously stated take it down to a stall (prefferably slowly) and keep track of what the canopy is doing.. I found it easiest to control using very minor toggle inputs and mostly harness input when flying backwards.. (both canopies were 220 with 200lbs exit weight) I have tried this with my crossfire 2 loaded at 1.85 and it wont go backwards... just turns to a ball of shit until I let the toggles up to recover.. I have been stalling my crossfire right and left lately just to see what I can do in flight with it.. its pretty hard to control in a stall, and the canopy rocks WAY behind me when in a stall... there might be a little backward movement, but I drop so quickly its hard to tell... the fun part is when you let up on the toggles really quickly and get thrown all over the place as it re-inflates... good stuff! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
