I didn’t have a student explain to me how my first tandem would work and reassure me that I would do just fine. I didn’t have a guy rebuff me when I asked him to sit beside me on the bus. I didn’t have a different guy offer to share his bunkbed with me. I didn’t get reacquainted with some old friends and make some new ones. This question came up this weekend. My contribution: I skipped classes on Senior Skip Day with my Mother's permission. The Principal wanted all of the seniors who skipped to stay after school the next week to pick up trash as a punishment. My Mom wouldn't allow me to participate because I had her permission. Well, I just got back from my trip. I decided to carry my rig on the airplane with the cheststrap tied around the reserve handle. I had the Vigil card and the TSA regulations with me, just in case... On the way out of IAD, it took four TSA personnel to look at the x-ray. None of them said anything to me, and it went through. On the way back through ATL, there wasn't even a hesitation in getting through security. No one mentioned the fact that I was wearing a parachute. I suppose most people thought it was a backpack. I didn't have any problems at all. And piisfishy... I didn't need to light any matches. Thanks everyone for the help!

When I travel, I usually put my rig in a gear bag and carry it on the airplane. I can't find the gear bag, it's too late to get another, and I'm left with two options: 1. Put the rig in a suitcase and pay an additional $50. 2. Carry the rig on the airplane without putting it in anything. Which option would you choose? Exactly! What would be even better would be a trip into the desert with a machine gun. I'd love to eliminate some unsuspecting cactus. How about the hills of Tennessee instead of the desert?
