Well thanks to you and markharju, I now know that the battery inside is replaceable. That was news to me! I thought I would have to replace the whole thing if I really needed one! Apparently, not all computer geeks are created equal. Some swear by them and some, like my son, don't see the necessity. Thanks for the tip on where to recycle too.

Yes I looked and saw you were the OP. BUT - I was hoping that maybe you had hung around enough Bonfire to . . . Bob it up. Quote If I spend time in a garage, I don't become a car. I do, however, know what you were talking about since I hang around here. I just can't always remember what the initials stand for. Besides, I've never even had cable. I'm not what you'd call technogically savvy. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Did you even look at the author of the thread? BTW... I didn't know turtles had such long tongues. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Absolutely, along with every other woman you come into contact with. The shotgun approach is bound to hit something sooner or later.

Several people have noticed the newer car at work today. They say that they like the color. When I asked them, "What color is it?" They stammer, ummm, ahh, "Gray?" Nope, it's Spruce Green Clearcoat. They have such a look of confusion because it doesn't look green they say. Nope, it's a non-color... What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

As for the interior, a good window tinting can reduce the amount of IR entering the green house, but unless all of the windows are tinted, heat still gets in. Further, the interior matierials make a HUGE difference in how that heat is conducted at the moment you re-enter the car to sit down. 140 degree cloth is, for all intents and purposes painfree when compared to 140 degree leather. The cloth has practically no latent heat (aka heat intertia) and rapidly chages from hot to not-so-hot and isn't dangerous at all. Leather, on the other hand, has quite a bit of latent heat, so much so that you can get a pretty bad burn from a really hot seat on a really hot day. Quote Does leaving a van's rear vent windows open make much of a difference in reducing the heat buildup in the interior? Yes, and they are so much easier to find in a parking lot. The non-color cars just sort of blend together as if they are camouflaged. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Young males getting their first car usually could not care less about color. They are looking at the Stereo, the Horsepower and the Cool Factor. She said Girls getting their first car only care about the Color. Quote Maybe it's because a lot of guys are color blind. Me? I pick which sports team to cheer for by which color uniform I like better. And my bedroom color is peach. The male painter kept calling it pink! It seems like the roads are filled with what I call non-colored cars these days. If you had to come up with a name, you couldn't. The automobile manufacturers have started to name them: Bordeaux, Flint, Kiwi, Merlot, Parchment, Pueblo, Radiance, Stone, Topaz, Tundra, etc. My favorite is white. It hardly ever shows dirt. I can go long periods between washings if I have to, and it doesn't look bad. Black is too hard to keep clean, and silver just looks unfinished to me. I bought a new "used" car this weekend. I just can't justify buying "unused" and paying extra just for a paint color. This one is called "Spruce Green Clearcoat." Huh? It's a boring non color, but it's only 14 months old, has 15,000 miles on it, and was $8,000 less than a new white car that I was considering. I think I can live with the non-color. What's your favorite car color? What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Are they necessary for a home computer? I came home tonight to the plaintive screams of my Back-UPS. I immediately called my computer geeky son, and we determined that if I plugged my computer into the wall instead of the battery, everything would be fine. Apparently, the Back-UPS is ill. He said he has never owned one. For some reason I thought the computer police would come to arrest me if I didn't have one. Do you use one on your home computer? I had to look up "shocker." It's a pretty "advanced" hand gesture compared to what we used as kids. Yeah, well, can you imagine my chagrin that I had to learn the meaning from my kids? Actually, I was then able to educate a former member of Airspeed who had never heard of it before either. It's amazing the topics of conversation that come up in a wind tunnel camp break. I learned what a Rodriquez Brother initiation was from a woman who was in that same camp! Although I'm not very clear on the mechanics on how it is accomplished. GREAT. Now I have to get coaching on hand signals, too. I just wonder whether that should come BEFORE or AFTER a good canopy course. You'd do better to take it after. Just hanging around the DZ will add greatly to your education. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

I know this is hard, but you must pay attention or you won't get a good grade in class. The hand signal I was referring to is for the "shocker," not "fluffing." These are two different things. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

I had to look it up. I just can't imagine what she does to do her job effectively. I imagine it's a precarious balancing act... not too much... not too little... My kids had to explain what a "shocker" was. Everyone at the DZ likes to display that hand signal when photos are taken, but they wouldn't tell me what it meant. Yep, I've had a real education since becoming a skydiver. I've learned things that I never even imagined. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

You're right. You're better off staying at home. You wouldn't have fun traveling. Quote Yep, that's what I've been sayin'! What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Now Betsy... Just take a deep breath and remember that you are expanding your mind by adapting to whatever comes along. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Glad that you're learning to "adapt." Your experience is what traveling means to me. I'd rather see your pictures when you get back. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

Wow! It sucks to be you today. Someone wrote this to me in another thread. Your thought process truly amazes me. I can hardly wait to read what you'll come up with next. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

I've already done the research on the car on those sites and read the article you referred to. I just didn't know if $5,000+ off of MSRP is a good discount for a new car. Low mileage, same model year, used cars are selling for about the same in this area. I didn't know if anyone has had experience in buying through Costco. They just use local car dealers that they have negotiated with. I didn't know if the dealer could be talked into going lower since it's the end of the model year, and the end of the month... or should I assume it's a good price. What do you call a beautiful, sunny day that comes after two cloudy, rainy ones? -- Monday.

I've never bought a new car before. It's a long story about why I'm considering it now, so I'll spare you the details. Costco has an auto buying program. This is the end of the model year, end of the month, with Costco price, and dealer incentives. I figure it is probably as good a time as any to buy new. The car I'm looking at is $31,105 MSRP. They are offering to sell it to me for $26,000. Am I to assume that is a good price and there is no need to try to make them go lower? Disneyland or Disney World? I'm thinking we should do a skydiver outing in Disneyland (that's the one in CA). I've been wanting to get back there ever since I moved to CA. Disneyland in CA... That's the one that was featured on The Wonderful World of Disney. Disney World wasn't even in existence then. Oops... am I dating myself? Now going to Disneyland with a group of skydivers sounds like a blast! Do they have bumpercars? I'm wicked on bumpercars.
