    In practical application, the only real requirement, in the US, to owning a gun is having some money to buy one. Same applies 70 years ago or today. And this should not change Do you really think there should be no requirements for gun ownership? What about someone with a history of violent behavior or mental illness?

    Indeed, I don't believe "great societies" need to send school children to classes with Kevlar backpacks and armed guards at the school gates. Yes, and the United Kingdom has a spotless record. It's footprints won't be erased all over the earth for generations to come. You are quick to bash the United States. Tell us exactly what you think we should do. Tell us kids what the grownups would do.

    In that case, we should stop locking up murderers. As a gun enthusiast, I cringe at some of the arguments put forward after events like this. If the gun community continues to demand that absolutely nothing be done to prevent this sort of thing, each and every time it happens, it will be the gun community that insures that what is ultimately done will be overreaching and excessive. We can start by admitting that children, people with a history of violence and insane people should not have access to guns.

    I read an article the other day in which they state that some human resources people look for the double space in order to weed out older candidates for employment. I am not joking. The article said they have even automated the process.

    I think that may have been an ancient paraglider. The risers did not look like normal skydiving kit. In the earliest days of paragliding, the canopies were more like parachutes than gliders. The final scene where he was way out to the side is what is known as a "lockout." He probably had no control input at that point. That's a good way to die on dry land.

    I've lived in small town America all my life and I have not seen this. Maybe you just need to get out more. How many times have you personally witnessed it? As you very well know, I don't live in "small town America" and never have. It might do you some good.
