  1. Yes. "Shortly after beginning HRT, MAAB trans people may start becoming more emotionally sensitive, especially to stress, though this is not a universal experience. Six to eight weeks after beginning hormone therapy, the first physical effects in MAAB trans people begin to appear. The first noticeable change is the beginnings of chest growth. Sometimes, this can be very painful. Acne usually begins to clear up, and skin becomes softer and less coarse. Balding ceases and some hair might even begin to grow back, though it is usually very fine. Body hair lessens and becomes finer. In some places (such as the stomach), it may disappear entirely. Gradually, body fat begins to redistribute from around the waist to the hips. Muscle mass starts to disappear, and it causes a noticeable loss in strength. The loss of muscle, though, gives the body a softer look and feel. Another thing to be expected with HRT is loss of sexual functioning. The external gonads generally shrink, it becomes harder to maintain an erection, and there is a loss of the ability to ejaculate." Source Those pesky facts again..... So we know that Wangyot taking hormone therapy is a fact?
  2. LOL That is a rather clueless perspective. So you think you or I can currently walk in an use a women's restroom any time we want?
  3. How? How would they "take advantage" of this? Do you seriously think that some "funloving/curious" hetero guy is going to dress up in drag to see what the inside of a women's bathroom looks like? (I find it odd that you lump "rowdy, funloving, and curious" in the same group with "weird, creepy and predatory") Or if they are, would this law being in place (or not being in place) make any difference? This law is clearly in place to discriminate. The "protect the women and kids" is a smokescreen to hide behind. Kinda funny that they have to hide behind women and children because they are afraid to admit their real motives. The idea that some kid will go "heh, heh, heh (insert "Beavis Laugh" here), I'm going to tell everyone that I "identify as a woman" to see naked chicks" is stupid. If it's done as a joke, the girls inside the locker room will beat the crap out of him. And he'd face the same sanctions as any guy who did that. If it's done with a bit more thought (or lack of) and effort, and the dude really presents himself as a TG, then he will suffer a lot more. Most kids know this. High school is hell for those that are different. I'm neither TG nor gay, but I was "different." And while I don't pretend to know how much they suffer, I fully understand that they do suffer. This is why very few come out until they are in the adult world. And why lots of teens commit suicide. I don't lump them together, I just listed them all in order to give the potential range of guys that might take advantage of the new standard. I can tell by the tone of your response that you are lumping me in with the haters and I can assure you that is not me. You and I are on the same side. If you don't think there will be pervy straight guys that will abuse this, you are being naive and not addressing that will only make it harder for TG people to find acceptance.
  4. What's stopping him now is that it is not currently widely accepted for a biological male (pardon me if that is not the correct term) to enter a women's restroom. You are right. "Being" should not be illegal. Re-read my post. I have no issue with TG people and I am fine with them using whatever restroom they want.
  5. Then you should oppose NCs legislation, and any like it. I do oppose it.
  6. I agree with you, but do you seriously think that there's not going to be any rowdy/funloving/curious/weird/creepy/predatory heterosexual guys that will want to have fun or take advantage of this? It's not the transgendered people that I want to keep away from my wife and daughters, it's the guys I went to high school with.
  7. For the record, I don't care which bathroom a transexual person uses. That being said, I'm really surprised no one has raised the issue of potential abuse of this policy by predatory heterosexual men.
  8. So, were you not straight 33 years ago? Oops. This has already been discussed.
  9. VB: Both links you posted go to a BASE video.
  10. That's a fine looking kid. Great that you are involving him like that.
  11. That may be part of the problem. I've dislocated my right ankle at least once and probably twice, years ago. Thanks for the advice, everyone.
  12. ^^^^^ This. Maybe an orthopedic? I think she's right.
  13. I've heard of the book, but not read it. Does that require a specific shoe geometry? (rise)
  14. Hi Folks. I need advice. Here are the up fronts: Male Age 56 5' 11" 180 pounds. My ideal weight is probably between 160-170 pounds Shoes: Asics GT 2000 I have been running off and on since I was 22 years old. I have never been a high mileage runner. I usually run 3 miles, 4 times per week. In the last few years, I have been gradually getting an increase in knee pain. The pain is in my patellar tendons, classic "runners knee." I have also been having trouble with plantar fasciitis. Running makes it worse. However, even walking in my running shoes causes it to flare up. Walking in my Birkenstock sandals keeps the plantar fasciitis in check, mostly. I stopped running last fall to let everything heal over the winter. I switched to walking and rowing on a good rowing ergometer. I have only run a few times since last fall and the plantar fasciitis is back. I have been thinking that it's time to quit running for good, but I hate to do that because I really enjoy it and nothing else gives you the fitness benefits that even a casual running routine provides. That being said, I would like to give it another try. Here is what I am thinking: I think I need to go to a completely different shoe. I am thinking some kind of zero rise shoe would be beneficial. I don't like the idea of minimalist or barefoot. I think I would benefit from padding, but the elevated heel feels very un-natural after I have been wearing my Birkenstocks for an extended period. In fact, I find that it takes a few minutes to adjust my gait after I put my running shoes on. I also understand that my increased weight is not helping. Stretching is going to be critical as well, at my age. Will the change in shoes help? Can you recommend a zero rise shoe for a casual runner? I hear a lot about the Hoka One and other highly padded shoes that seem to be in vogue right now. What's the story there? Thanks!
  15. Wow. Why are you storing it like that??
  16. What?? Explain, please! There was a long time conspiracy believer (I hate calling them "theories") who preached long and hard about Sept 11 being a plot by the US (nanothermite, Jenga, ice blocks, nonexistent airplanes, all that shit) and also preached about the Rothchilds, Illuminati and a few of the other "world domination conspiracy" crap ideas (no aliens IIRC). He posted that he had bought a tent from WalMart, used it at a DZ for a while, then took it back for a full refund. He first claimed that he was justified in doing it because of WalMart's bad behavior. When told that it was still fraud and that "two wrongs don't make a right" he backtracked and blustered and it was generally hilarious. He got banned, came back a few times as a sockpuppet, got perma-banned, kept coming back, got his DZ IP addy banned, still came back. He seemed to think that it was a great accomplishment to create sockpuppet accounts and post on here. I guess he thinks that Sangrio and Dizzy dot are part of the "world domination." Edit to add: Wait a minute. You've been around longer than me. You should remember this... Fine, fine gentleman. Yeah, that's what he was. Hell yes!! I remember that nut job. I remember the Wal-Mart tent, too. What a wanker. Thanks!
