Believe it or not, not everyone in the remotest corners of the world. Gets their news off the internet. National news services in S. America, Africa, Asia, etc. All cover how trump lies. The false promises, the exaggerations, the scams, all part of how they define him and the US. Dishonesty, no that would be the purview of trump and his apologists. -

Well at least the whole world thinks so. So trump's base, about 28% of Americans, and turtle. Disagree with over 5.5 billion other people. -
Low Equally as low. With everything as it is this thread could grow to be long and la race to the bottom. The lack of any value for American lives deserves the light of day. After Considering $1 Billion Price Tag for Ventilators, White House Has Second Thoughts "The White House had been preparing to reveal on Wednesday a joint venture between General Motors and Ventec Life Systems that would allow for the production of as many as 80,000 desperately needed ventilators to respond to an escalating pandemic when word suddenly came down that the announcement was off. The decision to cancel the announcement, government officials say, came after the Federal Emergency Management Agency said it needed more time to assess whether the estimated cost was prohibitive. That price tag was more than $1 billion, with several hundred million dollars to be paid upfront to General Motors to retool a car parts plant in Kokomo, Ind., where the ventilators would be made with Ventec’s technology." 10 days use to save a life, three saves per month, 12 months use is 2.88 million American lives saved. Not worth $1 billion for trump.

China has closed its border to Americans A Chinese official has accused the US of incompetence in its handling of the virus. “The US is the most developed country in the world, with leading medical technologies and top-class healthcare professionals,” the Chinese newspaper Global Times said in an editorial Thursday. “But it has missed the best timing to contain COVID-19 due to the Trump administration’s slow move, driven by political reasons.” “The US government has made three mistakes,” Xijin wrote. “1, Slow response, which led to the US likely becoming the new epicenter. 2, Not assuming responsibility as a superpower; giving no substantial aid to allies such as Italy and Spain. 3, Undermining global security.” -
Its "beautiful"," a perfect ad",there is "no quid pro quo for a president to take responsibility". to make donations https://priorities.org/ "Priorities USA Action Fund, the Democratic super PAC that created the 30-second spot and supported Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, responded by soliciting financial contributions to keep the ad on the airwaves. Trump’s campaign said the commercial contains the “false assertion” that Trump called the coronavirus a “hoax.” President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is threatening legal action" Someone needs one of those mobile super large video display screens. That can be parked in front of the WH. To play it 24/7. To play it at the republican convention in Charlotte to all the republican survivors and recovered.

Trump plan calls for classifying coronavirus risk county by county trump believes the virus respects county borders. "Counties would be divided into three low, medium and high “risk” levels, the president wrote. These categories will be accompanied by “new guidelines for state and local policymakers to use in making decisions” about whether to maintain, decrease, or increase their social distancing guidelines. The president has made no secret of his desire to see U.S. businesses reopen, even as the virus is infecting thousands of people every day across the country. Trump has set upon the date of Easter, April 12, as the one by which he hopes to see large parts of the country “roaring” back into business." -

This is a death panel. Both of you are wrong. -
I agree with the exception that a good beating should be thrown in for someone so stupid. Such stupidity should not displace other intelligent persons in need of treatment. Perhaps a study needs to be done to determine a link between a belief in "god(s)" and Stup*#y? But thats another thread. With two beatings for "Gov. Tate Reeves signed an executive order early this evening superseding a patchwork of local bans on public gatherings in Mississippi and other heightened restrictions that several municipalities across the state have ordered or considered in the wake of COVID-19’s spread inside Mississippi. The state reached 320 official cases today, up 300 percent since 80 known cases on Friday. #The order seems to declare that most types of businesses in Mississippi are "essential" and thus exempt from social-distancing requirements " He is a republican of course.

A chemistry professor explains: why soap is so good at killing COVID-19 Traces of the novel coronavirus were found in the cabins on the Diamond Princess cruise ship up to 17 days after passengers left, a study published by the CDC Monday found. 46.5% of cases from the Diamond Princess were asymptomatic when tested, which could "partially explain the high attack rate among cruise ship passengers and crew," the CDC said. The virus infected 712 of the 3,711 people aboard the ship — 19.2% of those on board. Perhaps it time to toss out the baby pacifiers aka the IR thermometers if so many carriers can be asymptomatic.

States reject Trump calls to reopen economy by Easter "Democratic and Republican governors, as well as local officials, are pushing back against President Trump's signals that he wants to restart the economy by Easter, warning that ending strict social distancing practices could put millions of lives at risk. " In the next days trump's new hire economists will weigh in. -

"in the $2.1 trillion House Democratic stimulus proposal, which includes a lobbying ban for companies that receive government aid until the funds are repaid. It would also ban corporations that receive a loan for coronavirus relief from giving bonuses to executives, buying back their own stock, and paying out dividends to shareholders." This is on the House side so its nor a real victory yet. “The COVID crisis is shaking up Washington, and since more stimulus packages are likely to be on the table, we expect K Street to continue to ratchet up their attention and spending,” Lisa Gilbert, vice president of legislative affairs at Public Citizen, told The Hill. “With that backdrop, putting limits on the corporations that receive taxpayer dollars in bailouts is just common sense.” Meanwhile the American lives that trump wants to throw under the bus by "reopening America" has brought on new scrutiny.

Well he has conceded March, LOL, wait a week for a walkback on that admission. Currently in China a province has to have 14 days without a single new case to have the lockdown or travel restrictions lifted. trump and the republicans have provided no such guidance. If they have their way Easter will begin a new killing season for the virus. Did I say virus, I meant republican party. -

I completely agree with this concept other than China isn't the only country. I assume you mean this? China has announced that they have now "banned" these so called "wet markets". Or the trade in such wildlife. Or exotic animals now domesticated and raised wholesale for food. They stated the same "laws" before banning these practices. Would be enforced after the SARS epidemic. They never sustained enforcement of these bans. Sometime in the last two weeks I posted a couple stories about these markets. With long videos of how and why they are popular in China. They are disgusting. They also illustrate why these markets remain popular in China and elsewhere. "While markets like China's exist in other countries, he said the wildlife sold at the markets in China are particularly problematic. ... McCaul also criticized Chinese officials for “attempting to obfuscate” the origins of the virus and called on the World Health Organization to reprimand those responsible for the lack of cooperation in providing necessary information to prevent future pandemics. " He is wrong on both the statements above. While SARS and COVID-19 have been traced back to the so called "wet-markets", more or less. Any markets for food from wildlife is problematic. There are something like 8000 similar identified virus in wildlife that could be transmitted to humans. The WHO blame game is a red herring. If he wants blame he should glance around at his next party conference. -
Democracy and capitalism have nothing to do with the points that you're trying to make. If you hold your cursor on the curve for a country. It will extrapolate anticipated future outcomes based upon current cases. Currently the US death rate is doubling every three days.

The next year is going to be a very stressful time for anyone in the health care system. Doctors, nurses, ward clerks and cleaning staff. They are working with insufficient equipment, in dangerous conditions and situations where patient care can't be met. They are heroes.

$23.5 trillion plus another $6T would bring the US debt/GDP to 134%(currently 107%) So ranking next to Italy and Yemen Thats a little misleading because the additional $4T in FED fiscal stimulus and some of the proposed $2T plans spenidng are loans. At $2T it would increase debt/GDP to 117% Which would be between Belgium and Italy. MAGA -

Completely agree. The wealth effect should properly be called trickle offshore. Chinese families move their families and money to Canada, Australia, UK etc. US families to dozens of tax sheltered jurisdictions. " the tax years from 2008 through 2010. They showed a $406-billion “tax gap” between what taxpayers owed Uncle Sam and what they actually paid. ...not including " “revenue loss due to offshore noncompliance.” " a wealth tax, the authors stress, will only succeed if we also take on the challenge of stopping the super rich from shifting assets offshore to evade their U.S. tax liability. Don’t hold your breath waiting for the Trump administration to take any serious step down that road. Veteran tax journalist David Cay Johnston has just broken the news that a promising IRS investigation into a massive tax dodge that benefited the only Koch family billionaire who backed Donald Trump’s presidential campaign shut down soon after Trump became president. You're all so very silly. Cruise lines are American based already. Note the peak in the last recession. Lubricant always reduces friction. Total for Cruise ships & lines: $3,607,000 Total Number of Clients Reported: 10 Total Number of Lobbyists Reported: 33 Total Number of Revolvers: 27 (81.8%) and just for laughs and giggles. -
