  1. Speaking of which the FOX motion to dismiss is likely to be heard in the next couple days. Fox News Faces Lawsuit For Calling COVID-19 A ‘Hoax’ The first such consumer-protection complaint came from the Washington League for Increased Transparency and Ethics (WASHLITE) on Thursday, which named Murdoch,__ Fox News, AT&T, Comcast, and other related entities as defendants" From The Hill: trump is moving on, C-19 is officially over: "The decision to disband the task force, which includes medical experts, public health officials and leaders from various government agencies, is the clearest indicator yet that the White House is ready to turn the page to focus on the economy, even as doing so could lead to a spike in infections."
  2. Yeah and now his attitude has permeated the whole country.;Because Canada has legal pot.
  3. Portugal tests 95% more per cap than the US Spain tests 82% more Belgium tests 74% more Italy tests 60% more "Belgium, France, and the Netherlands have been adapting their enumeration methods to account for suspected COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes and residential care centers. As compared to the US where the CDC only reports C-19 mortality when tests confirm it. In part, what prompted these accounting changes were increases in total mortality in certain regions which were more than twice the number of deaths officially attributed to COVID-19" All of these points have been made in at least a half dozen posts my myself, billvon, Kallend and others. Reading comprehension of some seems to be a repetitive issue. I suspect a propensity to "skim" and a complete indifference to self education beyond a structured setting.
  4. The threads here center on politics. For most political parties the cabinets and important members of that party co-participate in the decision making and policy. In the trump party there is only trump. Now that John McCain and others who objected to trumpisms are no longer in the party. On aviation forms airplane junkies will endlessly debate the worthiness of aircraft types, like the A-10. Others will rightly state that loitering drones have made the A-10 obsolete antiques. Those members will debate endlessly the pros and cons of A/C and their weapons systems. Their performance and lack thereof. None of which will ever be submitted to MD, Boeing, etc. Or to the Air Force committees that decide on the parameters of the contracts for new A/C. It doesn't seem to effect the mental health of those members. Who continue to debate in those aviation forums.

All I can say is WTF. "In other news. It seems as if there is a Republican governor. Who values life, science and responsibility. "The coronavirus has turned several public health officials and local leaders into bona fide celebrities..Ohio Health Department’s Dr. Amy Acton....this previously unknown public health official now has her own Facebook fan club, T-shirts, chalk drawings and ’70s sitcom parodies. Ohio’s G.O.P. Governor Splits From Trump, and Rises in Popularity Mike DeWine, a low-key career politician, has followed health experts’ guidance as Ohio confronts the coronavirus. His constituents are overwhelmingly appreciative." An intelligent Republican governor that lets science and facts do the talking. Just too bad that the party can't boot trump to the curb and "Be like Mike".
  6. When defending the indefensible becomes tiresome. The standard whipping boys, that are ingrained into the psyche come first to mind. Consenting adults? Nah, porn stars and corporations set up specifically to launder hush money. Are all brownie points for trump party loyalists.
  7. Its difficult for trump supporters to read and personally interpret complex issues.Well even simple issues. Reading long articles takes time and questioning the logic and accuracy of the story line requires effort. For trump soundbites and FOX video links its easy. They often lie then offer opinion as fact. When you go to the FOX website there is very little written content. Its almost all video. Usually presented by an attractive young blonde women. In order to sustain the interest of its older white male demographic. But I digress. "Bartsdaddy" ? This is a forum about politics, guns, religion, etc. Perhaps if the usual cast of trump supporters is interested in finding out how much each poster here has donated. Since thats not really a contentious issue they could poll in the Bonfire section. But it seems clear now after several replies that his supporters concede that trump will be out of office before he either donates or accepts responsibility. For the whole C-19 debacle. The SOP to distract, deflect, deny and sidestep.By his supporters and apologists. Duly acknowledged.
  8. For all of his supporters not a single thought, or statement, as to if trump will ever donate a cent to C-19 relief or a charity. At least its clear you both thoroughly understand him
  9. So since you didn't read it thats a no on trump ever making a penny in donation to C-19 relief? Despite his claimed $10 billion in personal net worth. Or is cluttering up threads with mish-mash repetitive trump supportive statements like "Another one that can't wrap their head around the difference between rates and raw numbers." on a twice a week basis. As though you understand the C-19 modeling better than the statisticians in every developed country. Both you and airdvr like to boast about trump's performances yet cannot quote the "raw" or is it "rates"?, numbers on what sort of great job they are doing. "I find it telling when you require percentages and per capita numbers when discussing gun murders in Chiraq but not when looking at Covid deaths. " airdvr said:
  10. Trump claims net worth of more than $10 billion in new filing In May 2016 Yet trump personally and this corporations have yet to donate a cent to Covid 19 relief or charities. Did All Vegas Hotels Except Trump’s Donate Rooms for COVID-19 First Responders? Never donated any rooms, from Snopes Business Executives Offer Large Donations to Fight Covid-19 The Gates foundation $250 million, trump ZERO. 'Never Heard of Anything Like This': Watchdogs Sound Alarm as Trump Puts For-Profit Insurer in Charge of Covid-19 Hospital Funds As usual trump sees misfortune as a chance to make money and curry favors. "For months, The Washington Post has been looking for evidence to back up a key claim Donald Trump makes about himself: that, in recent years, he has given millions of dollars to charity out of his own pocket. There is no evidence of that in the files of Trump's nonprofit, the Donald J. Trump Foundation. And Trump has not released his tax returns, which would detail his recent charitable giving...So far, The Post's search has turned up little. Between 2008 and this May — when Trump made good on a pledge to give $1 million to a veterans' group — its search has identified just one personal gift from Trump's own pocket. " from WP 2016 How long will it be till trump either makes a donation regarding C-19 or announces a personal fundraiser for C-19 relief? Sorry its a trick question, obviously never.
  11. The Project on Excellence in Journalism report in 2006 showed that 68 percent of Fox News Channel cable stories contained personal opinions, as compared to MSNBC at 27 percent and CNN at 4 percent. The "content analysis" portion of their 2005 report also concluded that "Fox (Fox News) was measurably more one-sided than the other networks, and Fox News Channel journalists were more opinionated on the air."[46] Old white republicans and trump supporters are FOX viewers "Americans ages 65 and older account for around four-in-ten of those who say their main source is Fox News (37%), compared with 21% of all adults, according to the November survey. And around nine-in-ten who turn to Fox News (87%) identify their race and ethnicity as non-Hispanic white, compared with 65% of all adults" These are the most and least biased news outlets in the US, according to Americans
  12. The 2020 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced Monday, with the New York Times walking away with three awards, the most of any publication. The award ceremony is usually held at Columbia University in New York City, but was held this year from the living room of Pulitzer administrator Dana Canedy and live-streamed on YouTube. The Times won awards in three categories: investigative reporting, commentary and international reporting. Meanwhile his base looks for reporting thats not "mainstream". Lies, FOX, etc that fits their messaging needs, translate: what and how to think.

IMO there has been some progress made with regards to defeating C-19. Sweden embarked on a different route and its mortality can be compared to its Nordic neighbors. Sweden has nearly 10 times the number of COVID-19-related deaths than its Nordic neighbors. Here's where it went wrong. States should open up sooner rather than later. But older and at risk people need serious protections. Protections from exposure and from having to take unnecessary risks for employment, or obtain goods and services. It seems as if the need for ventilators has become less of an issue. That younger healthy people are generally fairly safe. Some industries airline, cruise, restaurant, sports, travel, etc. will show financial damage for years.
  14. Yet his lack of attention to detail never hampered his presidency. Because he had such a strong cabinet and Nancy. Perhaps his prior work kept him on script when media and public appearances was necessary. Sorry about that! trump's lack of attention to detail on the other hand leads to all sorts of screw-up.
  15. I always tend to separate narcissistic, predatory psychologies. From those who may have psychological defects arising from childhood abuse, fetal alcohol syndrome, drugs, etc. Anyone who tends to prey upon the weak, the foolish or the elderly. Tends to set my fuse to short and response.
  16. Agree and I also agree on the Jackson issue. ?? Its difficult to figure out all the psychological issues that Jackson had.
  17. "President Trump accused the Chinese government of making a “horrible mistake” in its coronavirus response and of then orchestrating a cover-up that allowed the pathogen to spread around the world. “My opinion is they made a mistake. They tried to cover it, they tried to put it out. It’s like a fire,” Mr. Trump said on Sunday night during a virtual town hall on Fox News. “You know, it’s really like trying to put out a fire. They couldn’t put out the fire.” Pompeo Ties Coronavirus to China Lab, Despite Spy Agencies’ Uncertainty. So trump and his lapdog Pompeo are both out selling the China Lab lie. Six months to the election and its going to be China,China,China.
  18. Americans who thought he would make a good POTUS. Were likely people who are easily sold a bill of goods. Many of the usual bunch here have been around the block a couple times and could recognize flim-flam when they heard it. Promises in every corner of the spectrum that most adults knew could never be met. Then a swath of larceny.
  19. I can't remember any bad comments about Regan. That was a different era where the office had respect. Regan was a people person and used those skills to get what he wanted. He also knew how to delegate. He surrounded himself with a good cabinet. Leadership Lessons from Abraham Lincoln
  20. Well statistics say otherwise. trumps current life expectancy is 12.4 years and Biden's is 9.94. Biden is in better physical condition, contrary to the quack doctor that said about trump “his strength and physical stamina are extraordinary” astonishingly excellent.”
  21. Thats Nancy Pelosi. Angela Merkel intimidates him as well because she stood up to President Putin and is better educated than trump. Thats a silly sort of statement because my cat is smarter than trump. But I digress.
  22. WTF, how long does she last? Kayleigh McEnany promises not to lie as White House press secretary Trump’s New Press Secretary Promises She’ll Never Lie Minutes after pledging to not lie, the new White House press secretary lied a whole bunch BTY she is #4 in 3.5 years.
  23. Sounds perfectly logical. Science driving public safety and not guns/ trump mob rule. MAGA White supremacists seek to stoke the fear and disruption caused by the pandemic to push their agenda and to recruit. MAGA, trump
  24. "What distinguishes the demagogue in a democratic society, he argued in ‘Freudian Theory and the Pattern of Fascist Propaganda’ (1951), is the identification between the leader and his followers. The narcissism in question is not only Trump’s. More important is that of his followers, who idealise him as they once, in childhood, idealised themselves. Beyond that, the demagogue has a special appeal to wounded narcissism, to the feeling that one has failed to meet standards one has set for oneself."... His followers take every attack on their leader as an attack on them. ‘The fascist leader’s startling symptoms of inferiority’, Adorno wrote, ‘his resemblance to ham actors and asocial psychopaths’, facilitates the identification, which is the basis of the ideal. On the Access Hollywood tape, which was widely assumed would finish him, Trump was giving voice to a common enough daydream, but with ‘greater force’ and greater ‘freedom of libido’ than his followers allow themselves. And he was bolstering the narcissism of the women who support him, too, by describing himself as helpless in the grip of his desires for them." To end the formalized national sexual exploitation of women by a minority of voters. Will take sacrifice.
