Welcome to the forums. One tandem was all it took to get me hooked! I really do hope you're able to pursue the sport and enjoy it as much as we all do. One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

I agree with RoadRash ... no boss wants an employee coming to work with a possibly contagious stomach flu that could run rampant thru the office!! Good one

Absolutely precious!! Congratulations!! Hope mom, baby and dad are doing well. One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

Sinker, I couldn't agree with you more! I have a little boy who will turn 3 at the end of this month, and he is my life. I would die inside if something ever happened to him. Last week he was in the hospital with pneumonia and seeing how listless and sick he was literally hurt inside. If I were to lose him, I think I, too, would die. 0:0:0 Was in the hospital with a sick child all week and didn't dare get him out this weekend! I'm really getting ready to jump again. Maybe this weekend ... One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

I share your pain! I despise cold weather. Even way down here in Alabama the high only reached around 40 yesterday. Our winters are *fairly* reasonable but still too cold for me! I miss my days in South Florida where it never got cold ..... One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

I like it short! It looks much better. But, I've always liked short hair better on guys. One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

My mom (Dad, too) is terrified and thus very unsupportive of my jumping. She keeps telling me I have a kid to think about (as if I didn't know). But, I realize that she just doesn't understand all the safety requirements & such that go along with the sport. Every weekend she calls and asks if I'm still alive and tells me I "really need to quit." But we don't argue about it or anything ... we just agree to disagree. Those of us with kids let "potty" slip out occasionally because we're so used to talking with toddlers!! One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

Static line jumpers, best to ignore them?
morningdove831 replied to artistcalledian's topic in The Bonfire
Yeah.. i do know those.. I was one of them.. I laughed my ass off when those poor AFF people had to do their hop and pop from 3500ft and shit their pants, cause they were expecting to be under canopy for well over a 1000ft by then.. Grow up, what the hell is all this smack talking about on this website these days.... Signing off.... I was one of them too ... 15 static line jumps later and I have switched to AFF. One thing is for sure ... my hop & pop won't scare me quite so much since I'm used to opening at 3,500. -
I like white lights ... they are very elegant and so beautiful. One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

When did you start your family (have kids)?
morningdove831 replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
I was 25 and my ex-husband was 32 when our son was born. The baby was definitely a surprise ... marriage had been bad for quite some time. I'm very glad that my son was born when he was and I wouldn't have changed anything. Even the whole single parenting thing ... much better than where I was! Sneakers, that is cool! I'm a member (not active since Katrina) of the Louisiana Gulf Coast Herptelogical Society which, of course, specializes in the study and rescue of reptiles. Tegus are awesome! I'll probably get one when my son gets a little bigger. One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

Yes, corn snakes are indeed docile (and the albinos are beautiful) and I always enjoyed having one as a pet. She was a great pet! Would love to one day have another .... One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

Absolutely HATE the holidays. -Anyone else?
morningdove831 replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
I enjoy the holidays. Used to get a little depressed but now that I have a child, he makes everything worth it. I don't buy him lots of gifts but we decorate because he loves it. Because I'm a long way from my family, I also enjoy the extra days to spend visiting and catching up. The kids love it too. It's all a state of mind, at least in my opinion! Is it an albino? Looks very familiar to an albino corn snake I had many years ago ... I love snakes! One who looks for a friend without faults will have none. -- Hasidic Saying

I'm thankful for so much! My son and all the cute little things he does. Family. Friends. Health. Job. My unborn niece or nephew who will make his/her appearance in June. Strength to get through hard times. I'm thankful just to be alive!

Will be spending Thanksgiving with some skydiving friends. My son will be with his dad, and my family is too far away to travel at Thanksgiving and Christmas too. I'll go see them at Christmas.

Static Line v. AFF?
morningdove831 replied to morningdove831's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thanks everyone for your replies and encouragement! I'm going to do my level 2 Sunday (weather permitting), and I'm very excited about it! My level 1 was perfect and I'm eager to see my progress with each level. -
