3am, someone's in the house, sword drawn "WHO THE F ARE YOU!"
ECVZZ replied to kansasskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Glad to hear it turned out well for you, and not a case of "bringing a knife to a gunfight." G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea." -
Yeah, I know...I just wanted to rub it in! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Funny, I didn't see anyone who resembled your avatar yesterday. I'm taking next weekend off, but I'll be jumping the following weekend (Feb 19). Shoot me a PM when you're gonna be there again! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Damn kid, spilling your drink on your chin like that is alcohol abuse! Congrats on the new cam. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

It was a bidness call to a 900 number. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Since you specifically said "relationships", I'm gonna say one is too many. Casual meaningless sex between two individuals is a different story IMO (do a search for "f*** buddies), but I won't have a "relationship" at a dropzone. Too much drama. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Duh...buy a headset with niiiice soft cushions on the ear-piece. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

You may have a point there... G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

I believe Perris flew 22 loads on the Shark today. Gypsy and Super Otter were flying too. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

In the Bombshelter at this very moment...down to a 10 min though so...gotta go! Enjoy your visit! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

what goes along with getting a job as a packer??
ECVZZ replied to Terminal-V's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
JP- While I generally agree that a packer shouldn't be held responsible for most mal's, I can guarantee you we would have a very serious discussion about it if it was packing induced (i.e. a line-over). Funny, I was thinking "flat track". G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

IMO she's doing it for all the wrong reasons, but for purely selfish reasons I hope she prevails! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Damn woman! For some reason that hit my funny-bone. Almost spit coffee all over the monitor. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

ROFLMFAO! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Good idea. Think I'll check the classifieds now.

So.... I have about $350 to spend this weekend, and I need an audible. A gear bag would be nice too, but I've done without one for this long, so I'm really undecided. I know the pro's and con's of Pro-track vs Pro-Dytter, but I'm not sure if the logging capability of the Pro-track justifies the extra $120. Decide for me. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. I had a very experienced tandem videographer nudge me at the door 4 seconds into my count saturday. I made eye contact with him while finishing my count...to 10! If it happens again we'll be talking to the S&TA. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Lisa, does Bomber still make separate "toppers" to match my FF pants? I didn't see 'em on the website last time I was there. Also, can you give me an idea what it'd cost to have some material taken out of the lower legs to tighten them up a bit? Lost some weight, so I don't need quite as much drag.

Sparky: Don't misunderstand my point here. I don't condone suing gear mfr's or DZ's, or other skydivers. I understand the risks of the sport, and it's my decision every time I board a jumpship. My point is that a gear mfr is no different than an automobile mfr when it comes to design or engineering problems, and it seems like they are treating this as such (as opposed to a rigging problem). Any attorney worth his salt will blow the liability disclaimers out of the water in short order. It seems to me that since they acknowlege a problem requiring a master rigger to perform a change in the installation of a basic safety device, they would want to show that they made every effort to correct the "design flaw" themselves. I'm with Hook on this one. Auto makers do it all the time (mandatory recalls) based on a cost/benefit analysis. In short, some bean counter behind a desk in a cubicle weighs the cost of the recall against the possibility of losing (or even fighting) a protracted, possibly class action lawsuit. A gear mfr can ill afford the costs of such a legal battle, let alone losing one. Just seems to me they need to stack more beans on their side of the scale by taking care of their own design mods. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Yeah...that'll stop a lawsuit.

From what I was told (by ground crew), this helo has been modified for sustained flight at altitude...so feasibly, they could haul both of our fat asses well past 4600. Rosa: I think they were just visiting, but I'm not really sure. Mike: Yeah, the ride up was great! I was in the front seat, so the view was fantastic. No harness btw, just a seatbelt, which I took off at 1k.

Nope...Definitely a fucker.
