Anyone here had any experience with it? If so I'd appreciate any opinions...good or bad. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

I think John Mellencamp said it best: "Days turn to minutes and minutes to memories." G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

The view of Pickle Meadows and the southern Sierra from the east side of Sonora pass looks like a post card doesn't it. One of the most beautiful places I've been, regardless of the season. G. The above statement sums it up pretty well for me too. I'll add though that Dakota Fanning's talent was absolutely wasted on her character. Seems like all she did was scream or cry through the whole movie. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Hmmm...So a Sabre 190 wouldn't be more likely to slam me than a Spectre 190. Interesting point of view. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

It refers to power factor ratings, which determine how hits are scored. The formula for determining power factor for a given "load" is Bullet weight (in grains) x velocity / 1000. Some divisions have only a minimum power factor requirement, or "floor", while in other divisions you may "make major" by meeting a higher power factor (usually 160-170, depending on which division you're shooting in). Peripheral hits are scored higher with major power factor due to the fact that heavier projectiles with higher velocities generally produce more damage, and will be more likely to "take the fight out of the bad guy". Hi John, There are no Federal laws prohibiting the sale or possession of firearms with threaded barrels that I am aware of. A silencer, or "can" as they are commonly called is an NFA item and simply requires the proper forms and background check be approved prior to transfer by a licensed class 3 FFL dealer. There is a "registration" fee required that is essentially a tax stamp. Although private ownership of full auto firearms and silencers is allowed under federal law, some states (such as CA) have chosen to prohibit private (individual) ownership altogether under state law. Hope this clarifies things. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

9x21 is not quite the same as a "standard" 9mm round (9x19), and the terminal ballistics are significantly better. It is most commonly used in the USA in IPSC matches as you can "make major" with it. 9x19 (Luger, or parabellum if you prefer) is still quite popular in CCW states, with folks who like more stopping power than a .38 with less bulk, and less recoil than a .40 cal or a .357 Sig. in the same size frame. Personally, my CCW is a .40 S&W stoked with 155 gr GDHP, and I see no reason to change. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But then there's all the trouble of hiding the body parts, cleaning up the chain saw, establishing an alibi... Just screw her Sister and get it over with! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Her best friend will do the trick if her Mom or Sister aren't receptive to the idea. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

On the up-side, you don't have a Pontiac insignia stamped in your forehead from the airbag cover. BTW, I also remember you...I'm sorry to hear of your accident, but glad you're here to tell us about it yourself! for a quick recovery! G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. My last truck didn't have a chance to get old. Just rolled over 5k when a drunk driver blew a stop sign and I T-boned him doing about 45 mph...I had driven 1100 miles over the weekend, and this happened on the return trip, less than a mile from my house. Cherish the time you have with your car...you never know when it'll be taken (towed) away. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. I'm sorry to read about your troubles with your new container, I know it must be disappointing. I'll echo the opinion of others who've replied to your post though... I doubt very seriously this has anything to do with VSE or their product. Says a bunch about Kelly & crew that they're going to this extent to help resolve the situation though. Hats off to them! Good luck. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Damn you Bill!! I just about choked on my coffee on that one... seriously! If you see me in the loading area with a roll of duct tape, it'll be for your handles and pin flaps. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Don't recall exactly what the SIM had to say about it when I went through AFF, but it was common for students to exit at 18.5 - 19k ASL (O2 from 9k AGL, till jump run), right along with the up-jumpers. Somewhere I still have the "A" license card that was signed off by the S&TA at that DZ...in fact, he was my AFFI for all but one of my student jumps. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

If you have a variety of containers available to you at a daily rental rate, my advice would be to jump as many of them as possible before you make a decision. Rent the Infinity and jump it for the day, then move on to Mirage, Wings, etc... I jump an Infinity myself, and the pin and riser protection is what sold me on it (not to mention it's extremely comfy, and the customer service is outstanding!). As Tonto said, rig preference is a very personal choice. Decide what's important to you in a container, and make your decision based those qualities. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. LMFAO! I thought I must be the only person on the planet who noticed that. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Climb-out is easier with an inside bar, but for some reason I always liked an outside bar when I used them. Don't have much use for either these days. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Dodge quad cab Hemi. But then again, I might be a bit biased. As for the canopies, I like my Spectre. I agree with Dave's comparison too (at least with the Tri's I've jumped). G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

You can go argue that in the other thread all you want. Personally, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Amazing...That's what the thread was started about in the first place, as an inquiry about pricing. Seems most people got that to begin with. Nobody was "winging" about anything JP. I do take exception to being talked down to though. And where have you seen me say otherwise? You're off base here JP. See my previous post...I don't expect anyone to change their pricing, but that doesn't mean I have to pay it. Several people have taken the time to suggest well qualified, less expensive riggers in the area, and I appreciate that. That's where I'll be doing business in the future. Uh huh, I know. That's where you were working when I met you. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Then don't ask smart ass questions. As for the PM, I told you exactly where I went and what I was charged. Isn't that what you asked? That doesn't need to be said in a public forum. "$45 is very reasonable for a re-pack" is what I said. Where does that say that I think re-packs should be $45? You said it. Pack me a line over, and it's on you. Their prices are just that...their prices. Thus the reason for this thread. They're not gonna change their prices because I don't like them, but now that I know they're high even for this area, I will take my business elsewhere and pay more reasonable rates. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

That's all I asked originally, thank you. The first time I had additional work done, and as I was not given an itemized invoice I wrote the extra cost off to the other services. My question was concise and legitimate. Because it wasn't worded the way you would prefer does not make me a Troll. Never said it did. Simply asked a question, and thankfully, got replies from a bunch of people who seemed to have no problem understanding it to begin with. Luckily you don't set the prices for anyone else either. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

That was the reason for the Tongue, and laughing icons after my stab at Ed. On the other hand, if Sparky is a rigger, and charges $90 for the services I inquired about in the original post, then he should be insulted. $45 is very reasonable for a re-pack G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."

Laziness, mostly. PD recommends a fabric pull test for it's reserve canopies once a year to verify the integrity of the material. G. Jones "I've never been quarantined. But the more I look around, the more I think it might not be a bad idea."
