Just a reminder for everyone. It sounds like the SSM boogie went well so everybody get rested up and get their polyester clothing out for the 1970's theme Jumper Appreciation Day. See you all out here. BRINGING IT BACK OLD SCHOOL Skydive Houston is hosting its' 1st annual Jumper Appreciation Day. Due to the unfortunate cancellation of Ballunar this year, we at Skydive Houston thought we would host a fundraiser event benefiting the Houston Humane Society and Houston Food Bank on November 1, 2008. With a $12 donation, you get jumps at the low price of $12 all day, 1 raffle ticket, dinner, rights to 4 kegs of beer, and a T-Shirt. Balloon and Powered Parachute is coming for a swinging good time! Our groovy lineup includes: FREEFLY: Shannon Kidd and Jon McCollum RW: Larry Hinson, Henry Butler, and Steve Coker CRW: CRW DOGS and the return of the 100’ Round WINGSUIT: Purple Mike, Flying Bob, and Jenn Hinson We are also having $5 Raffle tickets that go directly to the fundraiser, Contest and Prizes, (including best 70's style costume for you and your dog), Tube Jumps, Intentional Cutaway Harness, and much more. After the beer light is on, spend the night partying in the Hangar 70’s style. Bring out your platform shoes and dust off your polyester suits, you dig! The shag carpet and disco ball are waiting your sweet moves. Chris Scaife

Thanks. I will let you know if I can ever get my hands on one. Chris Scaife -
It really depends on what your looking for. Ask around from other people that have been to both places. I am sure you will find either place fun, safe, and a nice new place to call home. Look forward to jumping with you and welcome to Houston. Chris Scaife

Where can I find a local dealer for the Vladiball? Chris Scaife -
How do I change my profile photo? I have added a picture but it is not in the right place. Chris Scaife

I received a letter from USPA stating that Billy Rhodes' rating have been pulled. I just took Jay Stokes AFFI course a couple of weeks ago and loved it. It was not easy so you must be ready for it. He was a great teacher as well as by the book. Not only is he a great teacher, he is also a great person to hang out with. Chris Scaife

Due to the recent unfortunate incident involving our friend Kris S. (Chubs) we will also be trying to raise money to help him and his family with anything they need help with during this difficult time. The raffle proceeds will still go to the Humane Society and the Houston Food Bank. All other proceeds will go to the Chubs fund. Please come out and have fun while supporting your local organizations and your friend Kris Stumpner. Chris Scaife

"depends on whether you go to the DZ to skydive or drink beer." Wow, we do wait until the beer light is on at the end of the day to drink beer. As has been said. Both DZs are great and you should try them both out to see which is a good fit for you. They both have their strong points and weaknesses. Welcome to Houston. I think regardless of where you jump you will be happy with your choice. Chris Scaife

Spaceland does the tandem progression method. A proven method but the prices you listed are of two different types of jumps. SDH's AFF school and level 1 jump is $295. Naked jumps are on a case by case basis. Chris Scaife

Post the reputation of the poster above you!

Is a Mama, and she jumps, and she thinks that chick above her is sexy. I like all those things. Chris Scaife -
My personal abode is pretty much damage free. Homes around me, though, have sustained much more damage. We were lucky. We now have power and water and are close to back to normal. We are hosting my inlaws, however, due to them not having power or clean water. They have to boil the water they have to use it. The DZ was a mess but we will have it clean again by this weekend. Those to the south of us are in our thoughts. We hope everyone gets back to some sort of normalcy soon. Chris Scaife

I would attend another WFFC in 2009. I think it should be held somewhere like Skydive Arizona though. Wind tunnel and many other benefits to having it there. Sounds like a great idea. Chris Scaife

Well said John. We usually cook every Friday night also. Saturday nights have been great around Skydive Houston. Always great food. people, and atmosphere. It is hard to beat our vibe that we have at Skydive Houston.

Another Legal Question - Neighbor McNasty

They may be keeping a low profile at Spaceland like they attempt to do on here. I hope Spaceland knows who they are dealing with there. One minute they are your friends and bad mouthing your friendly neighbors to the south, the next minute they are at another DZ doing the same thing to you. It was obvious to SDH when they started receiving blocked prank calls a couple of weeks ago that it was these guys. One of them, RC, did the same thing to Spaceland while at SDH. They talked bad about Spaceland and RC hooked his fax machine up to make calls to Spaceland to tie up their phone lines. We need people like this out of our sport. I say let them burn all of their bridges and see what happens. I wish them nothing but the best. Once they grow up and see their faults perhaps this will all end. Chris Scaife -
The cherries kind of create the naked mule numbers right? I can still taste the burn those cherries left over from last time. Chris Scaife

"...for disturbing the piece." Sounds like ya got an anger issue there buddy. Perhaps you should take up golf instead. That's where I like to release some of my pent up frustrations. Good luck. -
