West Planes Skydiving, in Davenport, Washington has set up an account with Global Credit Union for jumpers, and others to donate for Hurrican relief. Since Global is a shared branch member, you should be able to donate from just about any city. (I know that when I was in Califonia, I could access my account from another bank) Sending our jump planes down with supplies would be great, if we could saftey while handing out supplies. My little brother even asked if that would be something we could do. He works for a local Lowes, here in Spokane Wa, and people are buying all the OSB they can to send down, along with other things. I am a red cross volunteer, and couldn't go with our local chapter to offer med help because of the safety issue, it sucks, but we do get limited to how much practical help we can be. ... Earlier there was a posted thread regaurding the donation of funds that we all would spend this weekend on jumping to the red cross for hurrican releaf. Here at the Davenport, Washington dropzone an account has been set up with Global Credit Union. I know everyone here, in Spokane, has read about the fund account, but anyothers are more than welcome to add to it as well. Global is a member of the shared branching network, and all donations will go to help those how are know suffering thanks to Katrina. I know that I will be donating all the funds that I would have spent this week jumping. On a less friendly note, all we need now is for our government to get thier nutts in gear to get those people out! And the money used in the best way possible for these people. Humbly, Jess ... I just have to point out to everyone that my friend Tod got a few of his photos in this months, September, issue of Parachutist! For those who don't know Tod, he was the vidoagrapher at LP in charge of the LP Boogie Video. You can find the article on page 42, along with his photos! ESPN was there for the 50 in 50 thing they are doing, so LP, and our sport, got alot of notice on the national front.
