My friend has just got a vector2 that is quite old, but it's still in good condition - it's not really age its the condition. If your not sure about anything, get your rigger or instructor to have a look at it (a good idea anyway). Keep your loading under about 1.1 for your first rig. If you plan on jumping with a camera, you need quite a few jumps to do that. However, if you want to go to a dz to take photos of landings etc, I'm sure they won't mind.
