  2. Hell if it's been months just enjoy the jumps and don't call. It could be her way for you to contact here again. Like oohhh I left a movie at your house can I come buy and get it! If she hasn't called you then she obviously doesn't want the money back!!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  3. QuoteIt's actually just kind of trippy. I'm not sure *what* the target audience is. I don't think there is a audience for that! and if there is they need to start a therapy thread and discuss their childhood ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  4. either is better than a turtle head!!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  5. I don't think there is that much more to be made! The US players were getting paid alot more than overseas that's why they would come here in the first place. With the salary cap they can make the same or a little more there home leagues and stay with there families. Then all they have to do is worry about the Russian mafia!!! Anywhich way I'm glad to see the NHL come back now I can watch some real Sports on TV! Russian players feel the danger The owner of Igor Larionov's former team joins others who ran afoul of the Russian Mafia. By JIM KERNAGHAN -- London Free Press The danger is never really far away for Russian hockey players and it raised its head again this week when the owner of Detroit Red Wing Igor Larionov's old team was gunned down. The National Hockey League's oldest player, 41-year-old Igor Larionov downplays the so-called Russian Mafia involvement in the death of Andrei Trifonov this week but the facts are there. Trifonov was murdered when two shooters opened fire on his car as it stopped at the gates of his suburban Moscow home. Trifonov owned Khimik Voskresensk, Larionov's former team. He joins a lineup of Russian hockey people who've fallen afoul of the international crime syndicate, one which got its talons into more than one NHLer in the past. Last night's parade of the Stanley Cup before an adoring Joe Louis Arena crowd and the raising of their Stanley Cup banner might have been uplifting but a behind-the-scenes darkness remains. Five years ago, Valentin Sytch, the head of Russian hockey, went down the same way as Trifonov, in a hail of bullets as he was leaving his home. The mother of Oleg Tverdovsky was kidnapped and held for ransom. In the early 1990s, then-Toronto Maple Leaf and current Florida Panther Dimitri Yushkevich, along with his wife Oksana, were threatened in an extortion attempt. ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  6. QuoteIt will be funner. (Yes, I made up that word)Quote I think we should send a petition to Webster to make funner a word!!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  7. Just exhale, relax and enjoy the ride. If your having fun and smilling the rest will come alot easier. Remember! once your out that door there is no turning back so no need to be worried or tense just follow the instructors signals and have fun!!! Welcome to the sport! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  8. No your right on on that, that's what I was told to do and I only had a problem inflating them once! I probably just didn't pull down far enough or long enough but I think that was my first solo ride so I was a little sketcy! any ways I'm skipping out of work now have a good one. ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  9. I definitly plan on waiting until I get some more jumps under my belt, and I think I'll take the advice on renting some different gear and trying them out. I'm just trying to do some research and get all the info I can. When I head up to Chicago next week I'll have to pick my Instructors brain. It seems that the Sabre is a popular canopy and I think that is the one I jumped at skydive chicago. I keep reading that the end cells don't open up well. I thought it was just me being paranoid being a new jumper but I guess not. Have you had that problem with your 170 at all? ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  10. Nice! I'm sure I'll see you up there. What did you get? ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  11. Ya it's hell on my truck Well after I get my A license I'll pick your brain a little more when I have a little more input on what skill level I'm at. Thanks ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  12. I Haven't jumped there yet but will be after I make some current jumps up at Skydive Chicago! But I will ask them next time I'm up there! Do you jump there? ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  13. I plan on getting my A license within the next two months or so, and would very much like to buy a rig right away! Just looking for some advice on what features to look for, what size I should consider, what is some of the better equip out there, and what to stay away from!!! I am 5'10 170Lbs. I know I need to develop my canopy skills before I go crazy but I would like something at least a little aggressive not a flying boat! Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks upfront for helping a newbie out! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  14. As long as they don't serve those big balls on a plate and call them Texas oysters ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  15. Thanks for the mail about the DZ's. I got this guy I work with eh told me about Billy Bob's a bar you can actually ride bulls at. I'm toying around with the idea of getting my PBR license and trying that out. I just don't know if I like the idea of a bull tramping on my head. OUCH! Think I'll stick to getting my jumps done and buying my gear first!!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  16. Just throw your balls out the door and your body will follow! If you loved your first jump definetly go for your second Tandem and see how you feel. my second jump was totaly diff. than my first I felt much more relaxed, and got a better feel for the sport and what it was about. I guarantee that after that second jump you will have no questions about wanting to start your AFF. If it feels good keep doing it right!!! If not keep doing it till it does! have fun ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  17. What DZ is that I'd like to swing by and check it out! Ya I guess the DFW area is quite large! I haven't even been over the the Fort Worth area yet. ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  18. THAT QUOTE PRETTY MUCH SUMS UP THAT QUESTION OF WHAT IS A SPORT!! I LIKE IT... ***Glory Favors the Bold***

  20. I'm right there with ya. I feel like robbing a bank so I can go buy all my Equip. tommorrow. Just keep trucking along. It will all pay off in the end.... ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  21. Yep! I went out there a few weeks back seems like a great place with a bunch of cool people. and I must say the instructor out there (here name escapes me at the moment) is gorgeous! I kinda wish I was completing my jumps there, but it will be cheaper for me to go back to SC. I'll check out the gear forum. Thanks!!! ***Glory Favors the Bold***
  22. What's going on everybody. I started my AFP program at Skydive Chicago then got transferred down to Dallas. I'm heading back up to Chicago to finish my training July 16th I have 12 jumps and haven't gone in about a year. I can't wait to jump again and get my License... I just started looking into rigs and am looking for any feedback on what people think is the best Equip. out there, and what to stay away from. ***Glory Favors the Bold***
